All the cells are still available. Even have a couple spare that I could throw in for free. Both have a 1mm nick taken out of the blue wrap so I wouldn't class them 'as new', but the cycle count and capacity are them same as the rest.
Hello All, I've x4 boxes (32 cells in total) of Headway LifePO4 40152S 15Ah originally bought for my first Vector build in a 16S2P setup. These cells have done approx 87 discharge cycles with an Adaptto Mini-E + BMS setup. A discharge cycle as set in the BMS: Charge to 3.4V, Balance to 3.33V, Max Di...
BCTECH - Sounds like the fets on the green phase are knackered. when I was pushing the bike home, the regen brake seems still engaged the whole time This is also very indicative of the controller fets on at least one phase blown. Controller is definately in need of repair. Also, to have made the con...
Since getting darker I changed the contrast to suit, and remembered about this options availablility. There is a youtube in russian with the prototype Adaptto. Just wondering if anyones actually used it, and if you can have it active with the twin pigtailed switch off but battery still connected. Do...
Hello again gents, Is anyone using the 'Screen Heater' option? From what I gather it comes on automaticatally at sub 10degC, only with the controller turned on? Temps are starting to drop here and a few quirks are popping up. Last year I didn't have issues and could store the bike inside at work ove...
Throttle arrived today, thanks again burner77, the inner child was very pleased with the Haribo :). Really good quality compared to the cheap hall throttle currently used, which has a habit of conking out in the rain. Definitely going to get a Domino straight away instead of wasting money and time o...
Yeah, the measurements have been taken with the rotor removed, only way to lacquer the rotor, check hall leg insulation wear/breaks and for cable chaffing from axle to outrunner .
At the time the FET blew, 30A battery and 55A phase in the settings. Although what the controller actually puts out has always over run quite badly so probably 35-39A battery, indicated.
Both Mini-E's start power limiting at 55C and decreases power as temp increases, to the point of only being able to travel at 13kph... Never hit 62+C that was Mini-E's inside vector frame with cromotor not quite perfectly calibrated correctly, this was before the heatsink panel mod and tuning the mo...
Thanks for your info flippy, cycborg :), The motor is currently apart to apply the Scotch 1603 so all measurements are through uncoiled 1.2m cables without any induced magnetic inductance from the outrunner :). Did think such a small variation wouldn't make a difference, but wondered how much of a d...
Hello again all, After my Adaptto randomly blew a FET I've been chasing down the cause. There are no cuts in insulation, no cuts, internal breaks or shorts to earth from phase/hall/temp etc... I suspect it was moisture/condensation in the motor, which has now been completely coated in Scotch 1603 us...
Cheers guys, Had a bit more of a read through some pdfs on FET protection and with ref you've given ddk :) although not completely the same product as you say, the form of manufacture is similar. Due to the fast response times of solid state components in general, any fusing or protection has to be ...
Morning all :). After my Adaptto stopped functioning for the second time, I believe it's time to try to tackle an issue that could prevent controllers braking the world over :). To avoid immediate confusion this is not about battery->controller it's controller<->motor :). First, why aren't we all pu...
Well, just over 2200 miles on this Adaptto Mini-E and it seems at least one mosfet is dead... Went to leave work at @ Normal 30Amps max for the range extension, Boost used exclusively for post night shifts, busy junctions or roundabouts (for our american friends, roundabouts are big round islands in...
Hi RageNR :) Not sure if I'm deciphering your post completely, but I think your going on about the losses under load at equiv wattage with a 48v 30Ah vs 72v 20Ah battery pack both produce 1440W, however do a quick play on Justins ebike sim will show the low voltage sags more. Voltage = speed , Amps ...
brum - Best bet is to bottom balance your cells. Set your max charge to 4.1v or whatever you norm charge to and do a low amp charge (half your std C rated charge) for around 5-6 hrs. This should allow tthe cells to very slowly become balanced to 4.1v. It may take longer than 5-6 hrs the first time, ...
Hi NHM :) Just from the top pic it looks like you could do with some heatshrink to cover that split in the cable. I'd do a phase to phase resistance check and make sure there are no shorts between the the hub and the windings, however I'd suspect a bank of FET's have gone on your controller. Open up...
BCTECH - First just to settle your mind and clear an obvious fault (human :) ), put the controller in 'SLESS'. If your still getting 'Halls!' it's likely dodgey Brake/Throttle/PAS wiring/soldering/issue. Then do the H1-H2-....H6 check of the halls in the diag page, the one that you have an image pos...
I use these on both vector frames. Good for 30A charging, even with the Adaptto coil tucked underneath it mounted internally (v warm) . They've both seen the UK winter and survived in all weather conditions. Fine line with soldering between a good pot and melting the pin mounts .
Brum - My best guess is something to do with the halls and phase sequencing, as in you can replicate the wheel rotaating to crazy 120kph+ speeds by having the hall angle set 'incorrectly' and going WOT. It seems at best guess to feel like a strong pull to 90kph then it's like it completely skips a p...
wanned et all worriers - I agree with you, guys at work seem to be lured by the throttle especially when it's charging. A few times I've caught people before the twist, other times I catch sight of them from a distance, 'playing'. Although it has only been a few times nothing untoward or uncommanded...
