Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

While I didn’t actually order from them, I had great correspondence and support from Henry at http://www.ouka-ebike.com/. One thing to note, and this is why I didn’t order from Ouka is that the original Bafang batteries BTF03 and BTF04 are very hard to get. If you’re planning on using an original ba...

I wonder how Luna stuffed a 27.5x2.8 in there, that’s more or less a 29x2.25? Did Dengfu provide you the battery cover?

Re: Dengfu M09 Endruo/Freeride build log

Nice frame. They don’t sell those anymore in Canada or the US I believe, copyright license now... probably to Luna. Did you get a battery cover? I’m doing something similar, cover is integrated in the battery with the direction I’m going, was curious about this frame’s battery?

Re: Carbon Fiber e bike with Bafang M 600 mid installed with throttle

Sorry to hear about your luck with Risen, I had inquired with Mike there about a frame, he was more than willing to sell me something but I should change direction with that since there’s no delivery. I should also maybe mention there’s some concerns with members on ES And those should get sorted ou...

Does anyone know if Frey sells just the frame/drive/battery? I sent a message a few days ago and no response.

It can be if someone else wants to but I'm selling it as it's currently configured with the hub.

Sold

With some sadness I’m posting my HPC Revolution to see if I can find a convenient buyer for the price I’m asking. I say convenient as I don’t really need to or want to sell it, but it’s a shame the bike is sitting in my basement and I just don’t have the time to ride it, especially as a second bike ...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

The Grin 10k is sealed in plastic but looks thick. My KTY experimental isn’t coated in plastic. I don’t have or know what epoxy etc. I should be using? I hope it’s simple, it doesn’t make me happy.

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Last attempt on my end... and yes duct tape can fix everything :-) The good thing about collecting ebike stuff over the years is that you never know when you'll need something you already have. I had some KTY84/151's I dug up to test the Linear mode in the CA. Scaled to .44/267 and ambient is correc...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

I tried plugging into the KTY84/130 in the 3220 again this morning (CA settings as Linear; .45V, 262V etc.). Ambient is 16C, 3220 reads 43C (see bottom pic). Wiggled all the wires and no real change. I then tried a 10k Grin thermistor I had (top pics) at the same connection point as the 3220 to elim...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

So the mechanics sound ok then with heat at the freewheel. It never really gets “hot”, just warm to very warm but nothing you couldn’t leave your hand on. As for the temp, yes it does cool down very quick. When I watched the temp climb under power it climbs steady but then at some point spikes... so...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

I checked all the wires, it all looks good. Even get a consistent 630 at the CA connection. I just tried putting it on a stand and running it approx. 50%-75% throttle for about 3-4 minutes and things look like they are getting hot. The aluminum that holds the freewheel is very warm. Would that be no...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

I'll try bending some of the wires. In the meantime, I just measured resistance at 630 at 16C on the two wires coming off the motor. Can someone else let me know if they are close to this value?

Correct, the motor is barely warm when I get the temp to trip.

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

I just checked again, it's actually it's a bit off even at ambient. It's reading 33C when ambient here is 15C right now. I also tried changing to 10k in the setup and ambient reads ~103C so there's some other scaling I'd need to input if that is the case. Not sure what to try next?

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Hey Dave, I sorted out the throttle esc beep, but still haven’t been able to put too many km’s on. My trouble is with the temp sensor. I don’t get 5 minutes down the road without it triggering the CA to stop. It reaches a very high temp in a very short time so I’m thinking something is faulty. Even ...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

I'll have to give that a try with the ebrake. So I did take it for a spin, wow, it's a beast! How do I tame it? No seriously, what settings do I need to change to keep it from wanting to wheelie? Most people on here will love it, but I need it to very gradually and slowly get up to speed. It's explo...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Piece of art you've created. Just need to put one last wire together and I might be able to take it out later tonight and take some pics. One question... have you successfully integrated an ebrake cutoff with the Talon 120? I'm using the CA3's input GND and EBK wires. As soon as I "short" them (as i...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Almost time for mud... I'll post pics of the entire rig soon. As for loosening the BB, it's actually held in place on the one side with 3x6M bolts to the ISCG. so it's not even using the BB cup on that side. Then with the stiff brace holding the back and forth, I don't think anything should move or ...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

I had a chance to work on it a bit today. I'm sure it's fine with just the ISCG holding the bracket, but I ended up using one of the straps anyway. The assembly can't move forward and I highly doubt it would buckle that strap moving back, it's solid. It could always be beefed up if needed but I'm su...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Dave's right, these do make for a great bike. I'm still in the install stage, but having the Tanget mechanics mounted to the bike makes it look and feel awesome. I'm fairly sure I'm at around 40lbs, I'll weight once I get it complete. So the chainline drama is over and the motor is for the most part...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Got my kit, nice piece of mechanical tech. Got a few questions Dave; 1. What are the two wires coming off the motor for? Temp? (bottom right). 2. What are the three wires coming off the ESC for? (top left). Notes: If anyone else needs to clear the PF adapter to mount to ISCG, you'll need a 51mm open...

Re: HPC Revolution XXX

Good to note madin88, I’ll follow your build to see how it goes. I ordered one of Dave’s 6k Tangents for another build I’m doing so I’ll see how it performs but it’s very possible I may just stuff one of those in there to lighten it back up again.
