Re: Alien Drive new Build-Lush Vandella 8s/6374/LED's
Hi xadmx I am sure Beetbocks will answer too but as I have exactly the same ESC I can say that it has good brakes. (Though admittedly not quite as smooth as a VESC) I really like this ESC, has great punch, does not get warm and is programmable. This ESC actually replaced a VESC on my single 6374 mot...

Re: Alien Drive new Build-Lush Vandella 8s/6374/LED's
Hi Richard Nice looking board, but then I would not expect anything else from you. :D Nice to see a new board build from you, though your scooter builds are wicked too. I did similar with my Lush deck, as you say, the wood grain looks so nice it is a pity to cover it with black grip tape. Anyone buy...

Re: Teenagers e-skateboard for Christmas - On a budget
Well, lets just be happy that the OP is not going to try the possibility and decided on gears. We are pretty sure it won't work as described and NyOliver "doesn't have a reason to make it" to try and prove it works - so the argument is pretty moot. I could use my longboard wheels and press it agains...

Re: Teenagers e-skateboard for Christmas - On a budget
Hi astilwell611 Yeah indeed, I did see those friction drives you mention. Actually was not a bad idea how they did it. A clip on/off idea could be a bit of fun, especially to spread the good vibes of Eboarding. Guys could use their boards, clip the thing on and try it out, all without any other modi...

Re: Teenagers e-skateboard for Christmas - On a budget
Ah well, dull day at work. I have here at my disposal here a whole box of dc motors, mostly brushed, and a 24V power source to drive them. Just as a bit of fun I got my skateboard from my car (standard pool skateboard so smaller and harder, though not very hard, 90a wheels). Longboards are at home s...

Re: Teenagers e-skateboard for Christmas - On a budget
Hmm, where did I say I had no experience? Actually I have built a few boards so I would say I do have a bit of experience. You seem to have anger issues, take a Valium or two. There are friction drives, I know, and did state that. Just not quite as you are suggesting. If you could show a working exa...

Re: Teenagers e-skateboard for Christmas - On a budget
My dear chap, I never said it would not work at all. What I said is that I, personally, would not recommend it. Get down off your horse please. And yes, I do understand gearing. Pretty well actually. Would I do what you suggest? Nope, not at all - but that is just me. If the OP wants to go that way ...

Re: Teenagers e-skateboard for Christmas - On a budget
Hi My 2 Cents - take it or leave it, just my opinion. I would advise pretty strongly against those two Banggood options. A direct drive, with the shaft pressing on the wheel, is IMHO a bad idea. First off you would have to have some form of cohesion between shaft and wheel. A nice polished shaft on ...

Hi
I weigh about 200lbs and ride a 8S setup with a single 6374 170KV motor.
Does all the hills in my area without a problem and is fast enough for me. (No speed demon at all though)

Re: E-MTB with dual 5065 motor???
As this is a MTB, with huge wheels and off-road capability, the power draw on hard acceleration will be huge. If I were you I would most definitely go with a very minimum of the 120A FVT, better still the 150A version. As far as I know there is no program to limit the max power of the FVT controller...

I presume this is all coming from the questions about the new Enertion ESC. If so let us please not cover this on this forum as well, it is pretty pointless on the "other" forum as well.

Re: Production vs custom e-board
From what I gather the Evolve is a pretty good board. Could you build a "better" one? Well for the price you could definitely build a more powerful and faster one - whether it is "better" depends on what your criteria is and how good your skills are. I hope you don't take this the wrong way but for ...

Re: E-Longboard Newby about to making his first order
Hi Motor is a good choice. Deck is really personal preference as long as it is not too flexy it will be fine. Paris trucks are good, it may be easier to go with the Caliber shape though as a lot of mounts fit those better. Wheels, again personal choice but those ones listed would be fine. That mount...

Re: Will this used 36v (10s) w/29e cells work on an Eskate
Hi
I just had a quick look and what I saw was that these cells had a maximum continuous discharge rate of 2C.
Even at 6P I would not expect the pack to last very long at all.
Like I said, this was just on a quick Google of the cells but in my opinion - I would not risk it.

Re: Need advice on electric longboard Project
Hi I quite agree with sl33py about the 8S and single motor. I run a 6374 motor and 8S build ( 2 x 4S 8000mah 30C hobbyking Lipo) and find it optimal. I am close to 200lbs and the thing goes up all the hills in my area without a problem at all. The range may be a bit optimistic but that of course dep...

Post a picture of the wheels. Are they not the ABEC clones? Is so 83 and 97mm ABEC clones would be good.

If you read the tutorials you will know that is not a question that can be answered.

Re: Find parts for Eboard
Hi No personal use of the mount but can't see a problem there. Motor would be fine, IMHO far to expensive though. A SK3 6374 would be fine as well. I think an awful lot of us use Hobbyking batteries, just make sure they are minimum 20C->30C and you will be OK. VESC can handle 12S and some do use it ...

Re: 10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!
If you are making the VESC yourself then yes, you will have to flash the thing first or you will not be able to connect with the USB. I personally have not done this so cannot help you there I'm afraid. Yup, you will get the range, just hope you never have to actually carry the thing. (And aesthetic...

Re: 10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!
Hi Ralphy I personally have only used the VESC in BLDC mode and not FOC. FOC is apparently much quieter but I have seen so many horror stories, particularly with people using 12S, of driver chips going pop that I never even bothered about trying. The standard settings shown in the videos are all you...

Hi Ralhy
Holy smoke, is that a skateboard or a mountain board?
12S 16AH is a pretty large battery so I am presuming MTB.
Do you have any specific questions as I am sure many would help but would require a direct question or it all becomes very vague.

Re: 1st Electric Skateboard: Safe Top Speed? kv ratings
Hi there What Randy said is true enough :) Personally though I think 10S with a 190kv motor - with the stated gear ratio - is overkill on the speed. Sure you can always go slower, but then you may as well use a lower kv motor and get the better torque at the speeds you will be riding. If you are an ...

Re: Electrifying a Longboard vs a Mountain board (w road whe
Hi Well, I suppose it really depends on what you wish to do. I tried a set of pneumatic tyres on a longboard and though the ride was indeed nice and smooth and made rough pavements a possibility, it was no longer a skateboard. I personally took them off again and went back to large (97mm) skate whee...

Re: Parts matching, 3d printable motor mount
I do not know that ESC but would point out two things: Firstly - it is an aircraft ESC, so probably no nice progressive brakes Secondly - I would have gone for a higher current one. It may be OK but not much headroom. Motor is a good choice. Batteries - I presume you are running in series but are go...
