Re: ICE Sprint 26 with BBSHD build. (recumbent trike)

Update, started installing the shift sensor and the new rear rack and rackbag. Instead of cutting original wire housing i opted to buy some "bling" wire instead. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/420176183985176587/624662869996208128/2019-09-20_13.35.34.jpg Propped up naked. https://cdn.discord...

Re: ICE Sprint 26 with BBSHD build. (recumbent trike)

I was on a 35km ride yesterday and one thing i instantly missed was more range on my gears. If im to climb by my own power i need a lower gear and if im to speed down a long hill i would need a higher gear. Anyone have any good options to recommend? Right now i have a 26" wheel, 9 speed cassette wit...

Re: ICE Sprint 26 with BBSHD build. (recumbent trike)

What I like about front boom mounting is people can't see the motor easily. So the normal "recumbent stare" you get is more satisfying when you are riding one up a hill faster than on a regular bike. And omg do people stare! I i knew that beforehand i wouldn't have bought that recumbent. Im o...

Re: ICE Sprint 26 with BBSHD build. (recumbent trike)

This is a nice trike. I'd recommend keeping the front derailleur. Try doing 25 mph over a rough section of road where your trike gets hammered by potholes and see if the chain stays on. If it comes off, for sure you'll want the front derailleur as a chain stay, or at least SOME type of chain stay i...

I dig it. Any shots with the battery pack attached? How does it perform? Any desire for wider tires with more volume yet? Edit: Just saw the second post was today, so not quite there yet :) Heres a couple extra shots of it with battery on it. Im hoping to make it look as clean as i can with the par...

Testfit of battery and measuring up if i can manage to fit a Topeak rack and trunkbag, they have a quick release system i quite like. Charging it up fully for the first time to, going for the first ride as soon as it hits 100%. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/420176183985176587/62169864321236...

Test fitting a battery bracket and some other doohickeys today, having some splendid weather to work in. TerraCycle Universal Battery Mount that i fitted to the bendy part by using some cloth. Can also see the 1.2m long cable that was needed to reach the battery from the BBSHD. https://cdn.discordap...

ICE Sprint 26 with BBSHD build. (recumbent trike)

I was just in the process of ordering a BBSHD from em3ev when i stumbled over a 2013 ICE Sprint 26 recumbent and i just fell in love with that weird bike. I ended up ordering a BBSHD, an EggRider, a 14s9p e35 pack (52v30.6a triangle pack) and a Grin Satiator. My wallet is whimpering in a corner RN. ...

Re: 2016 Haibikes are looking gooood

I really love Haibikes designs, look like bikes and not EL mopeds.

But i have a problem with the name "Haibike" i cant see that name without hearing Tommy Wiseau saying "Oh Hi bike".

Reference is a movie called The Room

Re: Bafang BBS02

Most often you wil need a 44T or rather a 42T "Bling ring".

The big chainring on a normal MTB is around 44T for reference.

If you stil need lover gearing its worth considering to modify your cassette with a one up.

I have an idea for the bafang mid drives.

I am terribly sorry if this is something suggested before or is just right out stupid, and I am also sorry that i have to use 1000 words instead of one picture, I cant draw. If you make the Bafang BBS02's enginehousing and the BB part further apart with an adapterplate, then made the small cog on th...

Re: Steel frame with V brakes, or Alum frame with Disc brake

Learn to weight shift and to stoppie when braking. It will do more to your stopping distance than any basic design or frame material combo. Also depends on your breaking, I say go with whatever, I'm at 275lbs person and I'm able to do a endo and stoppie with both V's and Disc's, tho I feel that i ne...

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/no/en/shimano-mount-adaptor-front-post-to-post/rp-prod13747 I guess its post to post you are dealing with. Get the 160 to 203 adapter and a suited torque wrench. Btw, anyone know of a frame like the Cube AMS 100 thats in aluminium?

Re: What do u think about using bigger rotors than recommend

At those speeds, no mather if kmh or mph, and with that weight i would recommend changing the brakes to Shimano Zee's with finned pads! Best brakes for the buck you can find. Supplement that with the biggest Shimano RT99(FREEZA) rotors thats recommended on your bike. At those speeds you need to know...

That's a nice bike and nice job so far! I'm sure you'll love the bbs on there. What type of power are you thinking of? Is this your first build? How much does it weigh right now? Also, how much do the various bbs's weigh? 1: Anything around or over 250w, so i figure I'l go with a Bafang BBS02 750w ...

Any gear or mods i should do in preparation? I have to pace myself so the dogs can enjoy the run-...

Snurt's slow buildlog. Moved on to a Recumbent trike with a BBSHD.

Hi all. I figured id just make a build log for this build. The build is gonna take some time and its not going HI-END by any means. This is the future MTB build: My plan is to have a BBSHD set with a fairly big battery in a backpack with me. Some mods i done in the meantime: Changed to larger WellGo...

Re: How to waterproof wiring connectors, plugs?

Thick die-electric grease (non-conductive). It creates other problems (messy, drips when hot), but you could ride through rain with confidence. This, we use it on the electronics on boats and I use it on my car. I just use plain old Vaseline and cover all open connectors with it(like batterypoles) ...
