Re: Newbie rear hub drive Q's- how not to fry my motor
A half mile at 10 mph will take 5 minutes to cover. Looking at Grin's simulator, a 10% grade will smoke a G310 in 6 minutes. You can estimate your motor's heat soak capability by looking at the flange distance, or the diameter. A G30 is 123 mm for flange. An Sx02 is 145 mm. That's 15% more metal and...

Re: Mxus kit failure
From your discussion of C5, you have a KT controller. A motor/controller short would be Error 06. Never had a blown controller. Good luck. Maybe you entered C5= undefined value and it blew something. Will the motor spin backward by hand with power on. If it's hard to turn, probably confirms motor/co...

I think Bolton sells a Bafang g60 rated for 750W with the big 9 pin connector. Here's a aliexpress vendor with one too. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000169793368.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.179d4bb10dS2Kw&algo_pvid=1598f6d0-b6d2-4ccc-9233-de2eec663920&algo_expid=1598f6d0-b6d2-4ccc-923...

Re: Diagnosting a 24v controller (fag speed) with hall sensor hub motor
What does the bike have as far as controls?
Is it a throttle only bike, or it run by the pedals activating the motor. Doe the brakes shut off the system?
Might as well start thinking about a new 24V controller. They are not expensive,

Re: Sondors Ebike problem
If you have to cut the cable, that's just too much work to repair it, and it won't be as good if you have to cut.
Does your Sondors use the waterproof connectors for throttle? Can't tell from your picture. I think it would be tough to probe the throttle signals inside the controller.

Nice that you got two of them Maybe they gave you two in case the integrated model was too thick to fit between the pedal arm and the BB. That was the case the last time I tried to fit one.

You might upload a copy of the manual that you said the vendor gave you.

This is the Xiongda two speed motor? If you buy it from Xiongda as a kit, it appears you get a dual voltage controller. with the switch to change speeds.
Let us know how it works. The initial release of this design had poor reliability reports in this forum.

Re: I have a bldc Q5O1 controller and am having trouble wiring my lcd 8H display
On the controller, maybe it doesn't use an LCD. Run it that way. Buy a inexpensive bike computer for speed/mileage. Your LCD shows a round 5 pin connector. Did you also get an extension that connects the round pins to a flat 5 pin connector? If you do go out and buy a KT controller, you'll might hav...

Re: I have a bldc Q5O1 controller and am having trouble wiring my lcd 8H display
Tell the forum more about this Q501. Googling it shows nothing. Describe the bike/scooter where it's going, Voltage. Size of motor.
If the LCD8H were going to work, the controller would have a model number starting with KT-xxxxx or S-xxxxxxx.

Re: Rear Hub Research
If you want a good pedal experience, then you can't have the big direct drive for speed because the magnets will drag unless you use the throttle to pass a current thru the motor. I never liked the sticky because it's focused on Lipo bag batteries, which are inexpensive but only for very careful peo...

Re: Rear Hub Research
I've only owned geared rear motors, but know that the 1500W direct drive motors are pretty cheap and supposedly fast, doing 30+ mph with a good battery. That's speed to me, as my fastest ebike is only around 26-28 mph. It's peanuts to some of the fast builders,

Re: Add cheap current limiter to Ebike
If it's a goalpost type shunt, with high enough legs, snip the shunt at one leg. Then solder a thin wire across the legs. This allows you to repair it if you want in the future.

Re: KT LCD Settings
NZ87, your throttle wiring must be wrong. I recall that my KT displays will throw an error if you mix up power and signal when throttle is applied. On a KT controller, when you check an open throttle connectior, power is 4.5 volts and signal is 5.0 volts, referenced to ground. Then when the connecti...

That Grin adapter is pretty nice. I've made my own with hose clamps, strips of rubber, and a steel plate. The hose clamps do most of the holding for me.

Re: Re wiring diagram for a 5 to 1 wiring harness
He's talking about the harness that fans out to the display (5 wires), throttle (3 wires) and two brakes (2 wires). Since all three use a common ground, that's 8 wires. I'm not familiar with the 5:1 harness. Is the fifth item lights? Take the connector off the old controller, if it's dead, and wire ...

Re: tips for modding KT 9-fet controller for higher volts ?
How about the LM317T that drops the battery voltage down to 15 volts for the lower voltage circuits in the KT controller. Depending on the vendor, its input limit is 60V. More reason for buying a higher voltage controller.

Re: Sondors Ebike problem
If your other bike has the same 9 pin motor connector that Sondors uses, you could probably plug its controller into the Sondors bike. Or you could plug its motor into the Sondors controller. Every motor I've seen that uses the 9 pin connector has been compatible with other motors. While there's no ...

Coming back to this thread in 2021, I'll happy to still be here and hope everyone else is also OK. Covid touched my life. Two older relatives and one younger friend died of it last year. I use a 12 magnet version because it came on a purchased ebike. I bought one for use on a recent conversion, but I didn't have enough space on either side of the BB. I tried sanding off 2 mm of plastic, but still it would bind.

Re: e-bike conversion kit?
And where are you located, as market prices differ a bit by location, although you were given international sellers.
And what kind of performance for your expenses? I would say $1000 USD is more than enough to go fast/far, while $500 will build you a slower bike with short range.
