Re: Who makes the best JST parallel cables?

I bought one of these. https://www.amazon.com/Knoweasy-Terminal-Ratchet-AWG28-18-0-1-1-0mm2/dp/B07BV1YP3M Says > Work with Molex terminal connector and good for ATX, EPS, PCIE and SATA power pins. Did a reference somewhere else tell you it is designed for JST XH as well? Link? Bummer, you're right....

Successful as in the founder got the funding or successful in that the backer got the bike? What about getting it on a timely basis? I want to be riding that bike next week, not maybe next year. Most of the CF ebike campaigns involve buying a container full of ready made ebikes. "Invented/developed"...

Re: Help Brushless Controller Replacement

If you know the voltage and wattage of the motor, you could buy a complete controller kit, with matching throttle, brake levers, display, and pedal sensor. Buy it with a 4:1 connector and all the connectors fit, except the motor. That's going to be easier than trying to splice in a new controller/di...

Re: Ecotric Fat tire folding bike review.

Good ebike. I paid $779 shipped, no taxes, from amazon. Same parts as on other 20" fat tire bikes costing a lot more. Bafang G06 motor. Textro disks. Shimano Tourney with twist shifter. You might replace the seat and put on better folding pedals. Wheels and front fork are steel. Alloy frame. About 6...

Re: Is a leisurely pedal cadence possible going 25 mph on an ebike?

27 inch wheels with 42T/11T is about 81 strokes/minute at 25 mph which is what a competitive cyclist will do. Me, I think 50 bpm is what I do. That's about 16 mph. To get 50 beats at 25 mph on your Aventon, my math says I need a 68T front gear. Nope. I used Excel, but checked it against this calcula...

Re: "Modern" controller plug

Hard to find the plug by itself. You can buy it as part of a cable set. I would call it a 9 pin Julet connector. What comes out of most motors is the male plug. Splice in the female part to your controller. A good quick connect, but I've never run more than 25A (momentary) thru them though. https://...

Re: Circuit analysis of a cheap BMS, and why you shouldn't use one

Until some manufacturers decided to seek UL/CSA/CE approvals. most hoverboard batteries had no overvoltage protection or balance circuitry, At least, that's what I saw when I bought packs in 2017. Mine used what you call the three wire BMS, but used the P- side for both charging and discharge. The C...

Re: How fast can my 250W chinese motor go?

It sounds almost like you have a direct drive motor with a controller that applies regenerative braking when the motor is not running. Does the bike slow down by itself when you quit pedaling or let up on throttle? Lift the rear wheel with the power off, and spin it forward and backward. Does it spi...

Re: How fast can my 250W chinese motor go?

Should I have bought the 350 watt controller? I would have done so, if looking for more performance, but at least you get rid of the 25kph speed restriction. By the way, have you examined the wiring on the existing controller. Not all controller designs do it, but many controllers that don't have L...

Re: Why doesn't a li-ion battery take load?

Where's the BMS? You've already got these cells overcharged at 4.3 volts per cell. That's a potential fire in the making. Not kidding. You need the BMS. The yellow Ultrafires are used for vaping and flashlights. They are probably 1.0-1.2 AH cells. Can't run an ebike. Sold on ebay by liars. There is ...

I read somewhere on a website that it may be possible to add a front motor wheel to my bike. So I would have 250 watts on the rear and another one in front so I can get double power. Or is this not possible? I have no idea :) Still looking how to safely get more speed.. Your 8AH pack cannot supply ...

Re: Bafang 20” motor in a 24” rim

Greenbikekit.com sells the SWXH in 201 rpm and 260 rpm versions. Usually, 20" wheels will use 260 rpm motors.

That would mean mine (and the OP's) is likely 260 rpm. Higher speed, but lower torque. Not an issue for me, not so good for a heavier bike, but the 24" wheel will help here.

Re: How fast can my 250W chinese motor go?

Well, 25 km/hr seems like there's a speed limiter. Our 20" folding bikes do about 18-19 mph on throttle only, but that's 36V and an unrestricted 20A controller. On 48V, they will do 22-23 mph Folding bikes aren't intended to go much faster than 18 mph anyway. The gearing has you looking like a circu...

It's hard for a DIY guy to beat the price of a low cost import, especially now that better ebikes are available around $1000. Even less. Can't come close to these Walmart specials. With the BBSHD, you'll be travelling fast enough that a brake upgrade is wise. Unless your frame has caliper mounts, or you have access to welding, you'll have to buy a fork with mounts for the front, and stay with rim brakes in the rear. I have a 2004 Diamondback hybrid where I added a BBS02. The f...

Re: low voltage cut off when riding a long ride

There are two low voltage cutoffs. First is the one on your bike controller. Most of my 48V controllers are set for 41 volts. That's 3.1 volt per cell. Relatively safe. Second is the battery BMS LVC. Many go down to 2.7V per cell, which is lower than I'd want to go.

I'm not sure how dis-connecting one wire can boost the top speed 5 mph, but 24 mph is unbelievably fast for a sm. wheel bike on 48 Volts! Those motor spampings are still a mystery of the East, but it does tell us one thing, aside from the motor rating. The 20 means it is a high-speed range motor (C...

Re: DIY battery BMS issues

If the cell voltages are in range, and wiring is correctm you got a bad BMS, which wouldn't surprise me, You can bypass it and charge fully, but it's already half charged and doesn't work,

You can pull the balance connector and reset it just in case the circuit got locked up somehow,
