Have you walked the voltage probes up the balance connector to verify that the voltages increase sequentially. More than a few of us have put a balance wire out of order. One time, I put them all in backward,

Re: Lighter weight Battery Pack suitable for Tongsheng TSDZ2B 48 Volt 750 watt

And on day 2, I am pretty disappointed with torque sensing as a way of life on a bike, Of the four power modes, Eco is showing peak current of 3A and Touring is 6A. That's 150W and 300 watts peak, but I can barely detect assist. The next two levels show peak currents of 9A and 15A. I can't read my w...

Re: Battery question novice

These packs are 2x2 and 6 cells long. That would be at least 36x36mm and 390mm long just for the cells, which are 65mm long and 18mm in diameter. Figure the case is like somewhat less than 2x2 inches square, and maybe 17-18 inches long. Because each stick is only 3AH, you would need to put them in p...

Re: what multimetre should i choose for present cell mesurement and future home task

I find that an inexpensive multimeter is sufficient for my ebike work, even for testing internal cells on batteries. I have several of the free Harbor Freight meters and a more expensive $20 model. Used to have a Hewlett Packard, but it died. An RC wattmeter is useful if you're testing batteries. Th...

Agree AW. I should have said they often use the same connector with the same pinout. The displays that I've had do this.

My Bafang middrive display uses a different pinout, and they also flip the gender on the connector, so I can't plug in those other displays.

I had an S866 display and it only worked with Brainpower controllers, I don't see the dreaded Brainpower on your controller label. Some of these displays are sold with different firmware versions to different re-sellers, and the settings for one guy don't apply to the other guy. The other curious th...

I'll tell you what happens with my pswpower 500W 48V TSDZ2 this week. Installed on a steel 10 speed with upright bars.

EDIT.
Just got it running yesterday. Initially excited that it works after sitting in a box for years.

Re: Further ideas about no power to motor?

KT controllers/Displays will throw an Error 03 if any of the three Hall signals isn't working and they throw an Error 01 if the throttle is miswired. I've not seem any of the other errors pop up. I'm not aware of any errors that happen with a broken phase wire. You can try walk mode, in case you dou...

You're right, the SW900 is a good choice for fast throttle equipped bikes, but a poorer choice for pedal assist ridden slower. Mine had the same issues, and got early retirement.

If your KT display jas the voltage display option, use that. However, I have several bikes with LCD3's and they never read the same voltage for a fully charged 10S that I can move around. Up to 3/4 volt difference. However, they all have the P5 option which controls how the bar gauge is updated. It ...

Re: My ebike caught on fire.

When you have two packs in series, the voltage is not the issue. It's whether the BMS on either pack can hold off the combined voltages of both batteries, if it shuts off. YOu have 112V at peak charge, and I doubt the transistors in a a 13S BMS can hold off more than 100V. If you put packs in series...

I guess I would disconnect the BMS harness, and hook up my RC charger to group 9, and see if it will hit 4.2V alone. After that, if it still didn't go any higher, I would be sad because there's a bum cell in that 10P group limiting the charge. I think it has to come out. It must be really pulling cu...

Re: How do basic LED display's interact with controller?

It was probably not clear in my earlier post, but PAS control is analog with that unit. On the 810LED, 1V is PAS 1, 2V is PAS 2, 3V is PAS3, and 4 V is walk mode. I suppose default is PAS3 when you have the display bypassed. You can experiment with a resistor bridge, maybe get your Arduino to apply ...

Always a PITA to get an unknown sensor and figure out which of the two wires is power, and which is output. What was the result? I jave an Estate folding ebike and want to do same. The linked controller doesn't appear to support PAS, which suited the OP. Re: Recommendation? - replacement controller for Estate folding bike with throttle

I bought a similar folding bike recently, the Huffy Oslo for under $400 shipped on ebay. It also had a single speed PAS, which was well behaved but limiting. The lack of a throttle was even more limiting. While the controller had an unused connector that could accept the throttle, I upgraded it to a...
