Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners
2nd battery on toptube is plan B =) When I said two piece I meant single battery in the downtube, but in two pieces so it can be installed without the tilting limitations. I want it light as possible. I know most guys ride a lot throttle only. but i want a pedal bike "this time". i even r...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners
I agree that based on the space available, using 21700 may allow to fill more space with cells and therefore allow a bigger battery to fit. Fitting 70.7mm cells instead of 65.25 inside the 90mm frame space does lead to an 8% increase. Beyond that it will depend where the max number of rows that can ...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners
if it has 90mm, why not going 21700 cells? i have a 64 on its way and will do probably also an battery upgrade. i have a god of metalwork at my side and if this is 90mm width iam freaking out because dreams come true :D Last I checked, there was no significant energy density benefit with the curren...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners
About sliding the battery, am I to understand that at that width, you can tilt it from the side and it goes in? If so that would mean we could probably get an even bigger battery in there filling more of the dead space below the top tube... Yes, the battery is probably about 70mm wide and the inter...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners
You could may be reverse the shock to clear the space better. That's a no go unfortunately. Tried it once before and the reservoir doesn't clear the swingarm. Good to know :) About sliding the battery, am I to understand that at that width, you can tilt it from the side and it goes in? If so that w...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners
Interesting!
It would be great to see some pictures / video of how it slides in, and looks like once inside the frame.

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000
Kindernay is a true thru-Axle, has a Hydraulic shifter and is easier to service or swap wheels because of their cage system, so it does have some interests in some situations. Rohloff or Kindernay plus a Gates Carbon belt is never going to be a cheap proposition, and so far the Chinese manufacturers...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000
. Gates carbon belt drive is not. Just a little bit of mud will kill it. For durability go with a chain. I think you need to revise your knowledge of the gates Center track CDX carbon drive :) https://www.cyclingabout.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Muddy-Gates-Carbon-Belt-Drive-1000x627.jpg Also ke...

I Have since then succeeded to contact both Steiner and OrangeBC.
They collaborated on the design, and the bike is indeed available but they only run a small production every year.

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners
Good news, it seems for my 14s7P Project it won't be necessary to make a 2 part battery, just make it like a parallelogram and you can slide it in the bike (still other tests to make) Seems to confirm what I had estimated https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=100198&start=82...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners
Hi. My battery will come parallel with 14S5P battery. I am not using BMS in it, i measure balance with fluke. Maybe i will use ideal diode between batteries. I did one extra battery (hailong case) which i carry in backpack. This new will come for longer runs and will be connected same time with oth...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners
IGH is easy if you get rid of the LH sprag clutch, which isn't strictly necessary with some controller programming. It actually requires some adapter, would only be possible with the future 170mm Kindernay (that I could find), and I went through this in details in the posts below :) https://endless...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners
I always wondered if it would be possible to use power meter cranksets for this: https://www.cyclingnews.com/features/best-power-meters-for-cycling/ Thanks for digging that one up TorEddy, so far my best bet was on pedal pressure sensors... I will see if I can find out more about what interface the...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners
The interesting thing about the pinion drive is that executed correctly you could run just one chainline and drop a whole lot of weight. You would need a fairly high primary drive reduction to make it work and also a freewheel at the cranks as is common on a Cyclone/CYC setup. You would probably al...
