Re: Shipping batteries, or cheap alternative for benchtop testing?

Where are you located? And what is the capacity of the battery you are looking for? Richard

Re: XLD Brainpower motor controller XunLiDa

Now looking at another throttle replacement brings a question ....does that lock/ignition wire get rid of the need for a battery cutoff switch if you have a throttle with an on/off switch? Meaning, instead of wiring the lock/ignition wire to positive, you wire it to the throttle's on/off wire and no...

Re: XLD Brainpower motor controller XunLiDa

I found my problem ....it is the Chinese speed controller after all. One of leads on the diodes in the controller actually had a hairline crack on it ...I had to use a magnifying glass to see it. I put a 250k pot in place of the controller ...and while not optimum I could at least control the speed ...

Re: XLD Brainpower motor controller XunLiDa

I am trying to wire up one of these motor controllers up too. I followed all the info here and the good news is the motor is running and running in the right direction. The bad news is the accelerator does not work at all, the motor just runs full on all the time. Checking the Chinese hand accelerat...

Re: Adding a Key to battery pack ?

I just purchased one of these and tested it under load today:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MT ... UTF8&psc=1

All went well under load....so obviously the Flisky was not up to the task and did not meet its specifications.

Re: Adding a Key to battery pack ?

No sign of contacts burning ...and since the electronics are enclosed with black heat shrink I cannot see if there is visible evidence of a failed component. Obviously the switch is now closed, permanently passing voltage from the battery. And of course I am trying to get a response from the seller ...

Re: Adding a Key to battery pack ?

I mentioned it wrong ...it is a Flipsky switch ...similar to the Luna switch. Here is a link to one: https://www.amazon.com/Cigooxm-Flipsky-Electric-Skateboard-Scooter/dp/B07V5Y6NZ2 I wired it up yesterday and tested it just for battery on/off for a 7S battery and it worked fine. But as soon as I pu...

Re: Adding a Key to battery pack ?

Tommycat ....are you actually using the Lunacycle remote switch? And all is well with it? I just tried one of the Flippy switches like this and it failed under load immediately after switching a 7S pack on.

Re: Boston-Power Swing 5300 Li-ion cell test

I value folks who do "consider the source" of technical specs ....and then spend the time to test those specs in a professional manner. It saves me time! So thank you for that ....and to others like Thunderheart who actually started this whole thread. Too many folks take marketing (like news) as the...

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

I plan to give a more lengthy response at a later date on this ...primarily because I am still experimenting with my battery power for the Kweld. But I can state this ....the battery connections to the Kweld, including the internal ones on the battery itself are absolutely critical. That and the cab...

Re: upgrade battery for this bike? Possible?

Personally I would at least ask some folks in Europe what it would cost to recell the battery that comes with the bike. I would bet you stand a better chance of having a much better battery than sourcing yet another Chinese battery with who knows what kind of cells and current design they have built...

I agree with Flippy. Another alternative would be to simply ask the seller about a battery upgrade.

Re: Boston-Power Swing 5300 Li-ion cell test

This has been a very good, healthy discussion on the BP batteries. I think by now their capacity capability has surely been discovered. But if the topic is real world use ....all I can say is that the folks that I know that have used them have been very happy with their performance. That really is t...

Re: Boston-Power Swing 5300 Li-ion cell test

Good info Electricgod My test with Zktech ac-20 today is in line with what Pajda stated. The "real word test" of 4.1V to 3V at 5A discharge gave me 4460mAh. Another test at a 3.4A discharge of 4.1V to 3V gave me 4539mAh. Now I feel we should not overlook one other thing when comparing the Panasonic ...

Re: Boston-Power Swing 5300 Li-ion cell test

I have one of the Zktech AC 20's just like Thunderhead has in the beginning of this topic. I will do some testing using settings of 4.1 to 3.0V at 5A discharge as well and see what I come up with. Then we can see also what a 4 wire tester tells us with those parameters.

Re: Boston-Power Swing 5300 Li-ion cell test

Actually not true ..they are still in business and manufacturing to my knowledge, which is why you can still order larger quantities from China. The ownership changed hands and they moved production to China from Taiwan. But if you notice, the battery Thunderheart reviewed was made in China so he ac...
