Re: Common pack design mistakes, how to avoid?

Looks like a nice setup, I have not seen that welder before I don't think. What is the manufacturer name?

Re: Anyone want to send me free dead 18650 cells?

Which is why I hesitated on sending the individual cells. When I send lithium batteries they are properly packed and properly labeled. But thanks for the input.

Re: Common pack design mistakes, how to avoid?

So exactly how would this design be approved upon? I guess I better go back and read through all of this discussion ...I thought the busbar on those parallel in's and outs were solving this problem.

Re: Common pack design mistakes, how to avoid?

Nods ...I agree on his soldering technique. But what about the pack design itself? It looks like it is following all the rules here for a design ...except for the possible resistor wires for the fuses/connections. Again, it seems like that is not a concern on this forum as well. On the soldering, fr...

Re: Common pack design mistakes, how to avoid?

Here is another one, can someone pinpoint any problems of the design of this pack ...and it is specifically designed for an Electric bike. From what I am understanding here is this seems to follow the proper high current pack design ...except for the resistor leads to connect cells? https://www.yout...

Re: Anyone want to send me free dead 18650 cells?

Hi Jimbo, I did not count them today but I am sure I have 30 of them. However I certainly am not going to do what the other guy did from Ebay. I thought about it and I am hesitant ...too much time packaging them properly as individual cells to ship to you. If you were near me I would just give them ...

Re: Common pack design mistakes, how to avoid?

No, I was not thinking of great stuff! LOL. But I read through every thread of this discussion last night and one of the posters mentioned what I am talking about. For example: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RZUOCOS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 or https://www.amazon.com/3M-16...

Has anyone on here now tried any of the liquid/spray on based protective coatings for your battery packs?

Re: Anyone want to send me free dead 18650 cells?

Ok ...I am in Tennessee ...which of course requires shipping and loose 18650's I think are a little more dangerous to ship as opposed to in a pack. I will see what I have, and think about the packaging to ship and let you know if I am interested in doing that. I was going to drop them at the recycle...

Re: DIY battery pack cooling

Oh ... I am not avoiding stating some of the applications. One is for an electric bike. But others are: 1. A Battery pack for an electric mower and electric weedeater that used lead acid batteries previously. 2. A battery pack for an electric power wheel chair that I am repurposing as a RC controlle...

Ok thanks ...will take that advice on the search. Right now I don't have any issues as I have not built a pack yet ...just researching the whole concept of building one for the application that this site is all about. But also for builds for other applications that I am contemplating building packs ...

DIY battery pack cooling

Hi, another newbie on this forum. I have a question regarding the cost of cooling of DIY battery pack builds. I believe everyone here has a good handle on what the cost of building your own packs. But what about cooling? What are the different approaches and costs attached to them? Or is it not a co...

Re: JP spot welder

So, are you offering these without the battery? And if so, why would the original design of using of a 12v deep cycle battery be inefficient compared to your battery setup? If it can be purchased without the battery, then I would purchase. Thanks

Re: JP spot welder

I too am interested. I guess Riba2233 is no longer selling these. I guess there were a couple of problems with original design. Besides the battery, I also have a very good 12 volt power supply. But whatever the real offer is …battery/no battery etc. let me know and when it could be available.
