Re: mongoose mx250 2 wheel to Trike

Sorry to say its not a leaning trike. I am unable to figure out a way to keep the leaning trike upright when she stops. But the current suspension does allow for a bit of leaning.

Re: Feasible to run a 48V/35A output to high end Mxus 4T mot

The other question about the battery and controller lasting for the mxus 4t. The motor will run @ whatever amp the controller gives it. So if the system was running fine before you switched motor then it will work fine after you move the controller and battery over to the new frame.

Re: Help with making a fast ebike from scratch

To get an idea of the power you would need to hit 50mph you should look up a few videos from member icecube578. He runs the endless sphere podcast on youtube. Here is one that might give you an idea of what is needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83I2DknGDuA Also get over to ebike.ca and run the ...

Re: First project, falling before start(250w)

How are your fabrication skills? I found a decent articles from back in 2014 showing custom mid drive system with freewheel. https://www.electricbike.com/roys-ecortina/ Or if you do not need that much power and just a bit of assist so that you can rest during long stretch of bike path then maybe a f...

Re: First project, falling before start(250w)

If you do not mind losing 1 crank on the right side then you can piggy the system onto your current crank setup something like a 1-10 and use the 2nd crank for the mid drive. 250w is not going to damage your drive train I don't think but then it is very low power. The mount looks very simply just a ...

Re: First project, falling before start(250w)

Hi Z welcome to the forums. It might help if you give us a location so we can help you find a good dealer or shipping cost when trying to help you find product locally for you. I did a quick search on ebay and found a few ebike kits that had free shipping. Not knowing what kit you picked and if it h...

2c multistar discussion starts on page 17. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2207137&page=17 Someone on reddit said those cells are GEB8043125 I was able to find some info doing a search on the cell. Seems like they are high density but low amp battery. People are using them in large m...

Re: Multistar 2c/3c packs ?

If you get the 12,000 mah that would put you right around 24amps @ 2c. Lipo with lower C rating usually means they have high internal resistance (IR). Depending on the application and size of your motor you might not be to happy with full throttle from a dead stop with these lipo's. Or you will noti...

Re: Multistar 2c/3c packs ?

The only multistar lipo I have on my E trike is for the head lights and tail lights. I run turnigy 20c in 4p config, my trike pulls max 60amps and the lipo pack I build can take up to 400amps continuous or 600amps burst. That's if you believe what Hobbyking shows on the label. So pulling 20c will pr...

Re: Heavy-duty steel road bike conversion - Advice needed

Hello Mr.Bob Reading your requirements/needs and to me it screams mid drive kit. With a mid drive kite you can keep the same wheels and the same braking system. You will be able to tackle most hills/mountain paved roads (depending on the kit wattage limit/ gearing options). This article is dated bac...

Re: Undervolting question

Hi Charles Are you doing this on your e scooter? reading your past post the controller was designed for 24v? unless you have changed the controller? I had a dc to scooter controller that was rated for 24 and 48 volts, caps on the controllers was rated for 60v. I did not notice these cheap dc control...

if i used these packs on my other (48V atm) bike with the Goldenmotor BAC-0501 as a 16Ssp (2 6S and one 4s pack) would it be able to handle the 65 volts at 4.1V per cell? http://goldenmotorcz.en.made-in-china.com/product/xMwJGlvOABUq/China-48V-2000W-BLDC-Motor-Controller.html I do not think it can ...

That controller looks like a Sabvoton sinewave. http://www.sabvoton.com/product/72v-6kw-brushless-motor-controller.html#.VskmSvkrL5U I am not sure what the make of the motor is and if it is a Leaf clone then maybe this link can help you see what kind of power you can put into that motor. https://end...

Re: Advice building a 88/111V battery from 22.2V 10000mAh Li

I am in the same boat as you when I started my trike build last year. My knowledge of lipo was small scale pro 4wd racing and flying drones. But if you think logically and take a step back you can see the bigger picture and how all of it comes together. I guess first question is do you have a way to...

Re: more power for climbing hills

What kind of motor drive kit do you have? What is your max speed on flat? Are you stalling out halfway up the hill? Have you find a hill that is half the grade of the hill you are trying to get over and have you record the amp/ speed of that hill? More volts will increase your speed and may help you...

Re: Not blown away with increasing voltage

I'm finding it difficult to follow 10S 8000 mAh battery gets less mileage vs 6S 12000 mAh battery; besides physics saying Watts = Voltage x Current. I'm thinking from this small test a third unaccounted variable influencing the results is how fast one guns the throttle with the usual saying "your m...

Hi Sket A) 6s is 25.2 volts if you charge the lipo to 4.2v, I charge my 6s to only 4.0-4.1 giving me 24.6 volt. 18.5 volt is a 5s? not sure what you mean by this. B & C) I was told that you never want to run more battery volt then the caps are rated for. Like if you have caps rated for 100v you shou...

Re: Not blown away with increasing voltage

That makes alot more sense ^^ Ok so 1st setup with a 6s 12ah = 300watt Doing the math you get 7 miles on that setup so you burn 41 watt per mile. 300watt / 41watt per mile = 7.3 miles 2nd setup 6s 24ah = 600watt 600watt /41 watt per mile = 14.6 miles 3rd setup 10s 8ah = 336 watt 336 watt /41 watt pe...

Re: Not blown away with increasing voltage

Let me see if I can understand this 1st setup 6s 3000mah lipo x4 in parallel? 6s @ 4.2v = 25v x (3000mah x 4 = 12000mah (12ah)) = 25v x 12ah = 300watt hours 2nd setup 6s? 12000mah multistar lipo x2 in parallel? 6s @ 4.2 = 25v x (12000mah x2 = 24000mah (24ah)) = 25v x 24ah = 600watt hours 3rd setup N...
