Re: E-bike mid-drive motors hardly outperforms hub motors

I not saying gearing doesn't have its place like when moving very slow and its in practical for a motor to spin so slow. For example a mobility scooter travels mph must carry 150kg load and all in a small wattage footprint then i agree gearing is a better use than a massive motor to output the torqu...

Not to much done i got a few bits ive had to take things back apart to fit but its the name of the game so theres new bearings in the rear wheel i found 17mm smokers pipe gauze that fits my 15mm motor vent holes a treat with the original surround to hold them all in from the rear, plus they are coni...

Re: E-bike mid-drive motors hardly outperforms hub motors

Tell that to the guys running belt drive and big power middrive scooters and they will piss themselfs the belt loses a good 5% of the power before it even hits the tyre wall theres loses all along the system while a hub drive just loses power to the tyre flex alone. Theres some serious scooters kick...

Re: 40T, neodymium magnets, plasti dip cycle test

Back iron in this case could be as simple as a metal button sat on top of each magnet so it wouldn't be part of the electrical circuit only magnetic.

Ive had a look for some small magnets that might be suitable to make an array but theres no chance from what i can find anything small enough.

Re: Amount of cells? many or few

Whats your planned ride ? Thise 26650 will soon stack into a very large pack. I seen a few scooters but theres nothing under a 12inch wheel that tickles my fancy. The artisan evo is a small bike that looks decent and comes with a qs138 3000w stock but its belt drive so its not going to be as efficie...

Re: Amount of cells? many or few

Lifepo4 tend to come with a lower amount of apacity and or discharge vs its lithuim cousin but also tends to be safer so if i was building a ride that was riding in sensitive areas id use lifep04 or an indoor powerwall lifepo4 but for a high power ride lithuim cells is what id pick. Theres a molicel...

Re: 40T, neodymium magnets, plasti dip cycle test

Back iron on the rear of the magnet would guide the field lines on the reverse to give a higher surface tesla on the magnet 🧲 so it should increase pull strength. I wonder if theres small enough magnets available to create a hallbach array no back iton needed it could double the pull to the cell and...

Thats perseverance for you got there in the end. IMG_20210505_002903747.jpg Only one bit i spot is that little overhang would be ideally rounded on the corners so it stays within the tabs boundarys to guarantee no foul play later on but otherwise that a real nice bit of progress you got by there and...

If i or a friend had endless spherical cash on the hip that wanted something small like a scooter, moped or pitbike with uncontrollable levels of power id think of 2 10 inch 7000w racing hubs ultra high speed wind with 2 blood 72501 FOC controllers and a 22s2p battery made from prismatics in a dual ...

Fat bike front forks come in steel and 135mm dropout, i got a monster alloy set with 150mm dropout 15mm thru axle for a future build or donate to someone in need uk.

Grins all axle would drop straight on the 150mm with a nice rim and spokes make a nice front end get the tyre pressure right.

Id be looking to load test them cells sag under load so how much voltage deflect you get per amp applied etc amd also check its heat output by doing a IR measurment you should have an idea of the losses to expect. Most smartphones slo motion will capture a hub motors rpm easily even with 240fps work out the roations over time them adjust it for the minute to give a rpm figure Ive used it to determine wheel rpm and im sure there was room to capture even faster tyoes of motor, if i had a high end phone they do ...

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2763825/ Reading that 500v looks to be the magic number for a dry human body to start to really conduct some deadly amps and find themselfs climbing the stairway to heaven. Dielectric breakdown VOLTAGE. So after a certain voltage a substance conducts and flows current. 50vdc across dry skin no breakdown no current flow i feel fine 65vdc wet skin i start to conduct as we now Volts over restlstance equals amps more the volts increae the more current im capable of flowing...

Why do most manufacturers use a 3 pin connector with only 2 pins populated ? Re: 40T, neodymium magnets, plasti dip cycle test

I sat on my bog and i thought this. What if the magnets and the plastic dip is complete gone just copper sheets in a 3d printed plastic enclosure. The base of this enclosure could have micro dimples where the battery's ends meet under the copper to give lots of points of pressure or a large dimple d...
