https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6m_iIbX0gmA i see the future in this type of motors (axial flux with permanent magnets). It is very easy to cool the coils becouse they are on each side of the rotor and not moving. Even some cryogenic cooling is possible in future. This can boost engine peak power to...

Hi cocoon, thank you for your support ! God I realize I haven't updated this thread in ages. I'm curious to see which solution you came with, and also which layout / wheel sizes you're going to use ? Will it be a 1WD ? Stator directly mounted on the frame may be a nice solution to dissipate h...

Re: DIY 18650 20 Ah 36 V -- pipe pack

Here is my progress. i decided to go with tesla style fuses. Pack is bolted together (you cant see on this picture) but i will also use some more hot glue to make it even more rigid. I'm a bit worried that vibrations could damage connections. Fuses are 0,3 mm copper wires (12 A). I'm impressed how w...

Re: Is slow Li-ion charging realy harmful?

I will reconsider about using onboard charger.. The slow ones are cheap so i can have one at office and one at home. With this setup i will have an option to use fast charger if neaded and avoid possible problems with onboard charger. Now ill just have to wait for 18650 battery holders from china (m...

Re: Is slow Li-ion charging realy harmful?

Is he maybe referring to using a lead charger on li-ion, the trickle charge when its full? That is not good Source (YT - comment) is referring to BMS balancing.. Cmmenter said That balancing with low currents couses crystal formation.. I didn't find any sources to comfirm that. Night temperatures h...
