Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

SInce the Sur-Ron rear tire only lasts 500 miles, what are you guys replacing it with? I don't see many posts about what everyone is using as a rear replacement tire, even though I'm sure most have put 500 miles on their sur-ron so they had to have replaced it. My front Sur-Ron tire is still very n...

LMX Motor - Kelly Controller - Hall Problem?

I would like to use a 2018 LMX Motor for my Etricks R01. As a controller, I have a Kelly KBS 72181E. The problem is: The Hall sensors make short pulses before and after the main pulse. As a result, it runs rough and needs too much power (4-5A at 72V at full throttle without load) and fluctuates in t...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

At 2500km I changed the chain. As soon as you lift a chain link over half the tooth height on the sprocket, you should renew the chain. The teeth on the sprockets are still looking good and will not be changed yet. 2ed0ede3-d939-4050-a338-e5d62dc0e6d4.jpg 938ddfc4-4e7f-41ce-a8a1-78af3c89132c.jpg 201...

Just checking how motor spins without chain and belt:
Can you do that again at 20 to 30km / h? I would be interested in whether the engine has its own resonance frequency in this area.
Thanks

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

The noise gets on my nerves from the belt at ~ 20-25km / h (~ 15mph). I once lowered the tension, then it got better, but after some time the annoying noise came back anyway. Will replace the belt with the chain kit as soon as the belt is broken. And you think the high RPM first stage reduction noi...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Along with the chain re-tension standard moto maintenance, don't forget to check the primary belt reduction tension as well, as it also relaxes a bit as the belt wears in. The noise gets on my nerves from the belt at ~ 20-25km / h (~ 15mph). I once lowered the tension, then it got better, but after...

Brakes: I had the MT5 in front to test (I had borrowed) and that worked great. The braking force was great and a huge difference to the original brake. However, I have now got a Shimano Saint because I like the shorter levers. The braking force is even higher  Derb, forgot to ask you, any ...

Without Regen you will eat bicycle brake pads unfortunately. Surprised you got only less than 200 miles out of them, but they do go quickly without regen.
I have Regen. For that I only need to go off the gas. At about 1500km I had to change the rear brake pads.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

One week ago I reached the 2000km (1250 Miles). 20181205_220836.jpg short feedback: - Every 200-300km / 125-188 miles I have to retighten the chain. - I had to renew the brake pads - Spoke tension had to be re-tensioned. - The steering head bearing makes crackling noises and must be replaced. The Su...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

If you add an extender battery of 16s4p and put it in parallel. I believe this means it will take half the current load, and the 16s11p pack inside the bike will take the other half. You will really be pushing those Sanyo cells at the peak discharge, which is 10 amps per cell. Since the bike only d...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

@Allex Yes, these are Zefal FM30 fenders. I cut open a fatbike tube and used it to protect the suspension. I had tried the 58 tooth sprocket with the stock controller, but I did not like the reduced speed at the top. From my feeling, the X controller has the same punch at low speed with the 48 teeth...

It is very difficult to see this small digit on the display when accelerating hard.

Kelly Controller - after programming engine is turning backwards with high current at low load

Could you please help me? Following problem: I have changed two parameters and now the engine is turning backwards and has a high current at low load. In addition, it runs at idle speed much faster than before. What I did: On the Kelly Controller I reduced Max Regeneration Current from 75% to 40%. A...

The programming works with a TTL to RS232 converter (Max232).
There is a circuit diagram for this on the first page of the data sheet of the Max232.
