Re: A2B build

The Schwalbe tires arrived. I'm still waiting on proper tape for sealing up the rim so this is with the 3" tube inside. It's light...and that's what I expected from a bike tire. Delete the tube and that will just get better. At 30 psi, I can not roll the tire over with my hands. The side wall stays ...

Re: Revolt RV-series motor review and comparisons

I apologize to senior members who have technical disagreements with OP ElectricGod. The moderators of endless-sphere have a difficult and thankless job of parsing what to allow to be posted, and what to delete. I do not agree with everything that EG posts, and yet...he posts pictures and experiment...

Re: Revolt RV-series motor review and comparisons

Electric God I've been casually following this thread since the beginning but I may have missed it. Did you ever get to test the newest series of Revolt motors to compare to the old ones? I was under the impression there were basically 2 generations of these motors. I remember lots of people were d...

Revolt RV-160-SH

I looked back at my goals for this motor. My goals are: 1. Replace the shielded bearings. 2. Reinforce the shaft to bell union without adding an external reinforcing disk. 3. Add an internal radial fan to the top of the bell. 4. Spray down the bare stator with electrical paint. 5. Rewind for 80kv an...

Revolt RV-160-SH

It has been a while since this motor was assembled! Nothing is bound with winding thread or painted yet. This is an initial assembly of the motor to run it sensorless. https://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s515/rkenders/EV%20Stuff/Brushless%20motors/Revolt%20RV-160-SH/Reassembeled%20motor.jpg Under t...

Revolt RV-160-SH

I was about to finish up the drill carrier when it struck me I might be able to do this operation without it. I set aside the drill carrier to see if my idea would work. I'll finish it later... https://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s515/rkenders/EV%20Stuff/Milling%20and%20machining/Drill%20Carrier%20...

Revolt RV-160SH motor

A bit more work done on it... My phase resistances vary more than I'd like. I think that has to do with how well the phase ends were tinned when I checked resistance. The inductance for each phase is identical so I seriously doubt my winds are different. Phase A: 12.86 mOhm and .67 mH Phase B: 11.85...

Re: A2B build

I've purchased a set of Schwalbe Big Ben tires in 20x2.5. They are rated for higher speeds and higher loading than most tires. The tread pattern looks like it will work well for road or off-road use. It might even do well when it snows here so I can ride summer or winter. There are sooo many tire op...

Re: A2B build

I used 16" moped tires on mine. The 16" tires fit a 20" bicycle rim. Moped tires are much heavier and I trust them at high speeds much more than typical bicycle tires. This place seemed to have the best selection: https://www.treatland.tv/SearchResults.asp?Search=16%22+tire Moped rear tire 2.jpg I ...

Re: A2B build

It's time to get better tires... 1. They need to hold 5kw at the back wheel. 2. They need to handle a top speed of around 55mph. 3. Street riding will be 80% and dirt riding 20%. 4. I was thinking 1.95 to 2.4" wide. What tires are you using? I've done some research on tires and picked these out. Som...

Re: Sur-Ron 16kw outrunner

Any bit of information I ask for, Roman is quite forthcoming. So far I'd say my experience with him has been really good. I have decided to buy a motor from him and it ought to arrive in early January. I presented what I noticed in the below prototype images to him and He just laughed and happily an...

Hi ElectricGod, no my combination of the hall sensors on the risun controller is ok on this side there is no problem.I have tried several times and when the combination is bad the noise is even more important and the reverse mode not works. It is true that on the Nuc24F video there is no transmissi...

Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev! [beta]

It's not on my engine but that of another member of the forum. He says his bike is running a little slower but with more torque and his engine isn't overheating now ! About me I installed my 24F on my little car. I didn't finish the transmission. I have already noticed that the engine makes much le...

Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev! [beta]

Hi, have you noticed an improvement in performance since v07.8 and v07.9 update? It will seem that the torque is larger and the small engines heat less. Are you saying you made no phase amp changes and your motor is now stronger and runs cooler? That seems counter intuitive. More torque comes from ...

If you want a temporary MPH fix just change your wheel circumference x 5/8.
ie: 2040mm x 5 /8 = 1275mm

Ready for test tomorrow - weather and test pilot permitting

Motor winding spool holder

Several years ago I tried to rewind a motor. I had a single spool of 20 awg wire and nothing to mount it on. I drove a screw into my bench top just so I could pull wire. It took forever to get 10 strands x 3 phases off a single spool. Later, I got some 14 awg on a single spool...same thing...nothing...

Re: Hubmonster teardown

I came across a Hubmonster variant... Notice the steel core. All the others I've ever seen have a cast aluminum core. They don't have hall boards either. Maybe this is a very early version before the engineers were told to get the cost per motor down? It looks exactly like a hubmonster on the outsid...
