Re: Advice on Sabvoton 72200 controller

From the Video it looks like the Controller is measuring the voltage correctly, you even demonstrated that when you measured the voltage again after connecting the Battery. So I'd investigate the battery, not the Controller. I'd like to see you opening that battery up and measuring each cell group u...

Re: Problems w/ Kelly controls in a Bldc motor

Did you do the Angle identification? Set the value to 170 in the 'Identification Angle' field and restart the Controller.
After it has finished the procedure restart the Controller once more.

Re: Kelly Controller/QS 273 V3 3000

They don't have to, except for GND and positive of the Hall sensor plug. Which are usually matched for Kelly Controllers in my experience.
After you make sure, just run the Hall angle identify procedure.

Nice to see it working. :thumb:

As it has been said here before though, if you cut the trace the highest it will go is 68V so nothing to worry about.

Re: Eaton APR48-3G 1.8kW Light Compact Charger PSU

You can do the resistor mod and get up to 68V no problem. I don't know why you would want to complicate things by adding another PSU in series.

Re: Eaton APR48-3G 1.8kW Light Compact Charger PSU

AFAIK that voltage MAX was included because people were asking for it to try to set the limit higher, but it ended up not working so there is no point in messing with it.

Re: Eaton APR48-3G 1.8kW Light Compact Charger PSU

Mate, that's the over-volt limit, you can't program it higher than 58V. You'll need to cut the trace and solder the resistor on it if you want to go above 58V or below 43V. You can set it higher but it won't do anything. I'ts all documented in this and the Russian thread . No offense but it wou...

Re: Upgrade the Jonway MSG-D 1000W Electric Scooter Battery

Motors with Hall sensors should have 5 thin wires come from the axle not 4. Also I wouldn't install any kind of foam between the cells, maybe tape both sides of the cells to create a double layer of tape between the cells or use some plastic sheets. On my Lg Chem battery the pouch cells are separate...

Can't help you any further yet since I currently only have a few of the APR48-ES units. I plan on buying some 3G units to play with in summer. http://vae-tech.forumactif.org/t126-chargeur-1800w-40-60v-et-15-kg-origine-serveur#1089 It should just be "Write FLASH Buffer to Chip" and select the "firmwa...

Measure between GND and Signal, should be in the 1-4V range depending on the throttle position.

If it makes you feel better the old models of Zero Motorcycles needed to have their batteries charged weekly or they would end up dead.
So this isn't exactly unheard of.

Re: bluetooth BMS?

I'm sorry to hear that man, I had my pack drained to 10% over the Winter ( I knew about this issue but totally forgot about the Battery). I guess if you leave it sitting for long periods you could unplug the BMS or get a low amp charger that will float your battery. So for a 48V battery I would use ...

Re: Rectifier Huawei R4850G2 48V 42~58V 3000w

Why would it need to be earthed? Also, these PSUs aren't supposed to run outside of a special rack system. There are also a few good reasons I can think of, but its not really relevant anymore since we are using them outside of their intended use scope. If you want to connect the case to earth then ...

Re: Help troubleshooting motor controller fire

The theory about the current spike is probably correct. Looks like the prop was too big and the ESC couldn't run it because it's expecting it spin up fast. Look at Helicopter ESC's vs Quadcopter ESC's. The Helicopter ESC has a longer ramp up time from what I understand. I've had first hand experienc...

Gem or two? lol, more like all of them!
I'd buy them all if I was you.

All of them are the ''Ultramotor'' brand that the A2B Metro uses.
I ran one of those with a 25A Controller just fine.

Re: Controller help

Kelly support recommends that you use the Hall angle identify procedure. I've tried finding the right combo just for fun once but it always went into hard regen when I let go of the throttle, the motor also sounded like it was run by a square wave Controller, so finding the right combo isn't going t...

You don't have to set anything in that field. Just type 170 into the ''Identification angle'' field and cycle the ignition, wait about a minute or so for it to finish and then cycle the ignition again.
