Re: QS 3000w midmotor

I'm an easygoing guy, but I still feel like you are talking down on me

Anyways...
I have never used Flux weakening so I know little about it. I always just overvolt motors :|

Re: Kelly Controller & Outrunner trouble (Help!)

Nope, it's hopeless.
Believe me I tried, I even ended up using a sensorless controller in the end because the halls were acting up.

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

Well qs does sell a 48V version :D
If you run it at 72V with Flux weakening you might get close to 6000 rpm under load

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

You lost me there, If you want a higher top speed you need to lower the gear ratio like 1:3 or 15T and 45T at the rear.
Of course this will decrease starting torque, but 25% less torque for this motor isn't that bad IMO.
Or do you need the best possible acceleration and speed?

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

you can get them online for pretty cheap. https://www.racing-planet.de/xanario_search.php?language=de&sessID=6f7f55fb0702740b3ddeb9fdf90270b5&hea_sea_pd=0&query=kettenrad&x=0&y=0 I'm guessing about 80-90Kph with 24S and 53T Sprocket. I have to install the bigger battery this week and give it a test ...

Re: Kelly Controller & Outrunner trouble (Help!)

Use a KBS controller.

This is also an issue with the denzel 3000 and 4500 and some other motors.
Trapezoidal controllers work fine but sinewave is an issue because the because of the terrible EMF waveform of the motor.

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

Sorry to butt in but what top speed are you aiming for? I also thought that on my derbi a 1:5 gear ratio would be too low but after experiencing it I don't even want to put a bigger sprocket on the rear anymore. The torque is already terrifying. I'm using a 420 13T on the front and a 65T on the rear...

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

Looks good to me.

I guess you also have the temp sensor (white wire) not sure if that is plug and play with the Kelly as well since mine didn't have one.

The hall sensor plug fits to all Kelly's, only the positive and negative have to be correct (purple and black on the Kelly side) withe red and black one the motor side. The other three colors are irrelevant (blue ye...

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

Thanks for the correction but I think you know what I meant  yes, but it would not be as funny. on a more serious note: higher resistance metals that can take higher temps is a cirular fail as you need more power as the electrodes take up more power then the weld itself so you get even more h...

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

It's the same as the old one, this one has two mounts made into the case instead of the old bolt-on version.
This way you don't need to make an adapter plate like I had to do.

Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev! [beta]

I don't mean to sound like an ass but iron losses are pretty negligent. I have plenty of experience with overvolting motors, generally up to 40V more than design.

If you want to talk about losses then look at field weakening :!:

Re: bluetooth BMS?

There is no hardware difference, just change the appropriate values and you are good to go.

If you bought a BMS with the wrong cell count it is a bit more difficult to set up.

Doesn't look like there is a Bluetooth option, not sure since I never owned any of those Golden Motor products.

Re: bluetooth BMS?

I made this mistake once,
IIRC I changed the shunt value to something like 2.5mOhm and then did a current calibration at 10A discharge and 5A charge and all was good again.
It wasn't any more accurate than it was previously btw.

The Domino throttle is a Potentiometer throttle, change the throttle type in the Kelly app.
