Re: Large lead acid forklift battery self discharging

You would need 100 2Ah or 60 3+Ah Cells in parallel to get the same capacity as the Forklift Lead Acid. But I doubt you really want to since the price of the Cells alone is in the 3000$ ballpark. You also need to know how much the Forklift drains, my guess would be around 250A cont. You could measur...

Re: Modifying an Oxygen Lepton with Leaf Batteries and a Kelly Controller

Are you sure the three gears switch option isn't enabled?
Could you post the settings of the new Controller?

The beeping after the Identify phase is new to me, maybe they made some changes to the firmware?
It would be worth trying to connect the forward switch.

Re: Modifying an Oxygen Lepton with Leaf Batteries and a Kelly Controller

Is the forward switch turned off?
Otherwise, the Controller will be in Neutral and you need to short the two pins for forward.

Nice. I can already see that this BMS is the most popular:https://www.ebay.com/itm/8S-24S-Lifepo4-li-ion-Lipo-Battery-Protection-Board-Smart-BMS-Balance-Bluetooth/192713045620?hash=item2cde97b674:m:mmYGtW2LCsV0HOzua9mBVkw:rk:1:pf:0 But for the JBD BMSs, I would buy them from lithiumbatterypcb.com si...

Sure, Incandescent bulbs work fine.

I use Batteries for load testing.
I have 1S to 24S+ Batteries that can handle 50-100A charging current.

Re: Cagiva Supermoto Bulid (4kW Legal)

Hi, I really like your build.

Could it be that you hall sensor converter was lagging behind at higher rpm?
This would make the Controller apply current at the wrong time causing the Motor to overheat.

I don't know if you mentioned it but what did the registration cost?

This problem reminds me of the Flatpack 2, where you need continuous CAN messages to keep the current to your set value.

Based on this I would assume 30A to be the optimal cont. current.
~42A max.

If your Charger looks something like this then there is a good chance that you can change the output voltage to match your battery.

I guess it should be possible but the documentation is lacking quite a bit, to be honest.

Re: Question for the Wizzards...why can’t Enphase micro inverters be connected in parallel?

I'm pretty sure the DC side is irrelevant. I could hook up a 1000 different kinds of inverters to one battery without a problem. It becomes a problem when the inverters get connected in parallel on the outputs. Or did they blow up without even having the outputs connected? Maybe you connected them L...

Re: Question for the Wizzards...why can’t Enphase micro inverters be connected in parallel?

I think there are some inverters with CAN-Bus that can talk to each other to synchronize outputs. If the sine waves aren't synchronized then one inverter will feed voltage into another one and it will go boom. I'm not qualified to explain this really. There are plenty of discussions about this thoug...

Re: Mototec Fatboy 48V 500W Scooter issues

I guess you could try submerging the whole motor in something like this: https://www.wd40specialist.com/products/rust-remover/ I have no idea how well it would work, to be honest. But if and when you manage to remove the stator without destroying the magnets you have to keep in mind that the degrade...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

I have experienced the Pulse thing. It happens when you set overvolt cut-off to 4.2V and overvolt recovery to 4.18V or something like that. So while charging your cell(s) reaches 4.2V and the BMS cuts off the charger, then the Cell voltage drops down to something like 4.17V and the BMS enables the c...
