Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Does anyone make an adaptor so I can use a ACS Southpaw front motor freewheel...I keep blowing up the sick bike parts freewheels.
I want something heavy duty and sealed...

Re: Advice on the values of different mid drives

I have Tangent, Cyclone, and Bafang bikes. (I tried to buy a DaVinciDrive...but he wouldn't answer my questions.) The Tangent is superior in every way to the others. It's build quality and customer service are unmatched. It is the smallest lightest AND high powered kit out there....barely know it's ...

See links in my sig for the Tangent,Cyclone, and bafang models.

Re: Battery in backpack vs. mounted to frame

If I'm just cruising along, commuting or whatever...frame batery is cool, less weight on me. ...But if I'm riding agressively especially on a trail...the battery attached to my core jumps and corners much better. Fears based on something that "could" happen but hasn't happened is just fear.... ...no...

Re: any bbs02/bbshd on freeride/dh bikes?

It would be fine, but maybe a Cyclone3000w would be a lil more powerful without breaking the bank.
The real obstacle with the bafang...is the BB width.
It comes for 68/73mm...or 100mm bottom brackets...no 83mm option.
(edit, looks like ya got a 73mm bb on that year stinky)

Re: INTENSE Tracer 275 with Tangent Ascent

I love it, just want beefier tires. I will be building out my Intense 951 also, so will get back in about a month with opinions. Generally, I prefer lightweight for whipping and flicking the bike around, full downhill bikes handle sluggish. The new frames are all carbon and 27.5 wheels....and people...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Yes, it WILL work. It is built slightly differently...but functions the same. The outer collars grab the mounting plates well. The BEST part besides the multiple sealed bearings...is that there is greater thread engagement on the non-drive side. The stock style have a 3mm ring to apply all the torq...

I use 10sp, works great :)
Even with the stock boat anchor ring...better with the LunaEclipse ring.

I'd suggest cheaper cassettes as they are all steel.
Higher end aluminum cassettes wear faster.

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

ya, some things I would worry about warranty...but I don't want another crappy bb...
...I knew when I bought the kit, it would have some issues to tune up, so I'm not stressed.
I'm just sharing to help others watch out for the issues I had :D

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

basically all the bearings are crushing out of their retainers. the cranks wobble side to side about an inch at the pedals. been riding for 30 years, never had a bb go that bad, let alone that fast. walmart bikes hold up better...yes, UTTER RUBBISH. Judging by this one, I wouldn't suggest the Cyclon...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

well...it only to took about 50 miles to COMPLETELY roach the bottom bracket that came stock.
I was unaware that a BB could be THAT bad...so heavy, and so little function...pssssh.

I will be upgrading to a ISIS beefier setup, otherwise all running smooth even in sloppy mud. :D
