Re: Tesla, first car in space

The roadster was the first cars Tesla ever produced. Selling 2,450 since 2008. .....Different Roadster..... He launched a Roadster 2 We launched a first generation Roadster, which was basically a Lotus body with a Tesla drivetrain and Panasonic cells. Trust me when I tell you there are not enough R...

Re: Tesla, first car in space
I doubt there was much "Commercial" about the Roadster,...they have not started producing them yet . Infact , its a good bet there are more Luna Rovers on the moon than there are Tesla Roaster 2s on Earth ?
The roadster was the first cars Tesla ever produced. Selling 2,450 si...

Pack Voltage Reduction To Run a Light

Anyone have a solution for reducing pack voltage so I don't have to run a separate battery back to run a headlight on my bikes?
For you guys running 20s, 21s and 22s how are you dropping the voltage from 80vdc to 12vdc etc?

Re: Madness. Why such slow penetration for hybrid?

As you tree huggers stuble through life thinking EVs are the current answer presently, the rest of us fuel up and drive where ever we want to, without worry. You all think you're saving the planet, fine I say, it just saves more fossil fuel for the rest of us. It doesn't mount to a hill of beans. A...

Re: Public charging stations for e-bikes. Is there a standar

Electric vehicles should be charged at home, while you're sleeping (off solar is how mine gets electrons). This negates carrying the around chargers with you and also saves you an hour or two of standing around waiting to finish. Time is money, so if this is your daily commute, you may want to build...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

So, I’ve owned the b52 for around 40 days and was almost ready to sell it because I thought it was boring, then I decided to try it in off-road mode, words cannot describe the feeling I get, now my question is how does the b52 perform in sand? I’ve noticing when turning I would fall of the bike Not...

Re: Aluminum vs Steel vs Carbon E-bike Frames

All great input. I have TIG'd Aluminum in the past but nothing structural (more like cylinder heads and cast water necks). I did find a data sheet of sorts comparing one square cubic foot of various materials http://www.coyotesteel.com/assets/img/PDFs/weightspercubicfoot.pdf Aluminum weighs 168 poun...

Aluminum vs Steel vs Carbon E-bike Frames

Of the dedicated bike frame what are the biggest advantages/disadvantages of the various frames as far as weight, durability and cost? Lighter weight means less battery needed but possibly sacrifices durability? I began thinking of this when reading an article about the differences between the Model...

Re: Reasons why the ebike is a world beater thread.

I'd say there is no more efficient means of powered transport (mostly having to do with mass of the vehicle). All of my more powerful ebike saverage about 45 watt hour/mile. While my Tesla averages about 335 wh/mile. Real time power usage example; 5kw on my last Chevy Volt's power meter got me up to...

Re: 3 Phase E-bike?

I am new to this forum, and I'm an engineer, so there is likely some over-thinking going on. I'm really enjoying learning about the innovations coming form GRIN Technologies, but I'm wanting a little more clarity on some terminology. In the industrial world, the standard motor controller is a VFD o...

Re: Sabvoton On A Bomber

That would be self-learn; if it has the feature you'd want to look up how to activate it. (could be a jumper wire, could be programming via computer, etc). Right on, I believe this can be accomplished through the programming. I just don't want to burn anything up if I hook it up the wrong way. :oop...

Re: Sabvoton On A Bomber

Like any other controller and motor, unless the controller has a self-learning feature, you'll have to experimentally determine the wiring order https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3484 https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=32455 You can check the various Sabvoton...
