Re: Yamaha YZ250F

If that is what you meant? Yeah, that's what I meant, making a 2 speed transmission. Wouldn't be too difficult to build from what I can see on your pics, and you'd still have the same efficiency since you already have this intermediary transmission here anyway. This way you could have a low gearing...

Re: found cracks in rear hub motor side cover

this is how most bearing installations go, but how in the world am i supposed to fit a 40mm bearing into a 35mm hole? Well it is not possible at all. Either you took some wrong measurements, or you're trying to put the bearing into the wrong side of the plate. Here again, pictures would help. It's ...

Re: Ninja 250 "Clone" Made in China

The updates of this week: I cleaned the wiring and crimped some beefier, higher quality lugs: IMG_20220914_165647.jpg I think the wiring routing is quite optimal now, the wires could hardly be any shorter and it looks pretty clean, I'm very happy with it. Then I finally closed the battery lid, hopef...

Re: Yamaha YZ250F

It is amazing with such simple stuff that you can just get at a reasonable price. Nothing fancy custom made in the drive line from what it seems :o Back to my bike: I was out riding quite a lot yesterday, on a tricky track with a lot of rocks and roots. But it had some faster parts too. I am surpri...

Re: found cracks in rear hub motor side cover

But as aberwolf rightly said, it is hard to be sure with just one picture. At this time, we don't have *any* pictures of the OP's cover. The one posted in the thread so far is someone else's. ;) Ah lol indeed, I thought it was the OP. Well lt's wait for one then. I can't believe someone would ask s...

Re: found cracks in rear hub motor side cover

That just looks like some casting patterns, that can happen on sand molds or on plaster molds (probably on some other casting techniques too), but I'm no expert. What I would do is to sand a small portion and then see if the cracks are just surface defects or if they go deeper. I wouldn't worry too ...

Re: Ninja 250 "Clone" Made in China

Great thread! I love all your professionalism and small details. Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated! Forgive me if you answered it earlier, but I'd like to know, were you ever able to find a spec sheet for your battery? A spec sheet of the battery itself, no, but a spec sheet of the indivi...

Re: Ninja 250 "Clone" Made in China

Had to open the motor again , now that I have an easy method to open and close the motor I kinda enjoy doing it. This time I wanted to do the following things: -install fresh bearings -replace the seals -install different temperature sensors Getting the new seals wasn't an easy task and it end...

Re: 1950 Scooter EV-Conversion

120bA * 72V = 8,640W, over double the continuous rated power of my 4KW motor, so, no, I don't agree that I just as well could've used a smaller motor. I tend to run it continuously at 4-5 KW. ery. You can go wayyyyy over that, don't worry. My 2000W motor on the scooter takes 210 battery Amps and 51...

Re: 1950 Scooter EV-Conversion

Sweet project, very clean and nicely done! Just wondering, how come you don't have a rear brake? Probably better to install one if possible, regen isn't the most reliable thing. One other remark, if I may: it is generally better to have the phase wires going downwards, you don't want water to accumu...

Re: My new electric motorcycle

Thanks for ur reply but the problem I'm having is when I ordered the motorcycle I told him that I was going to buy a 120ah lithium because they only had a 80ah. He told me that I have a 10000w motor and controller will handle the bigger battery. I'm looking at it like a rc cars I'm into. If I have ...

Re: Modular Battery suitcase

I would paralell them with wires 1,5mm² 10-20cm length (awg 15 to awg 16 about 3-6") this should limit the current to values around 20A and should not burn the wires when the cells are within 0,1V. Yeah that is exactly what I meant actually, I do realize now that "thin wire" was a po...

Re: My new electric motorcycle

Yes, but he bought a 10000w motor with a controller that is suppose to match that. So Ouxi, and Andy Han did not send correct bike. Something seems not right. I just checked again on my controller, I made a mistake, my apologies for that: this parameter can not be changed by regular users in the ap...

Re: Ninja 250 "Clone" Made in China

What size is the motor, is it 205 50h? I think it looks bigger in the picture, maybe more like 273 40h. How much ferrofluid did you put in there? I think 10ml is recommended for a 205 50h. Amazing that it looks so fresh :) Have you seen what phase amps the app shows that the fardriver puts out? If ...

So its a 2500w motor even though it says 10000w???
This is a programmable controller so it is whatever you set (or whatever the factory set as a limit).
The controller has no way of knowing what your motor is.

Still in the process of tuning the Fardriver controller. I'm slowly cranking up the power, trying to find the limits of my motor without killing it... Risky game... So, in an attempt to give the motor every possible chance of survival, I decided to feed it a little bit of magic potion: statorade! Si...

Re: Orion BMS Wiring Question

My question is if the option on the right is doable with the version of BMS I have or with Orion altogether? Sorry I've got no experience with the Orion BMS so maybe my suggestion will be stupid, but can't you just test this solution on just a few cells? What if you were to wire just 3 blocks of ce...

Re: Modular Battery suitcase

I also let the bms equalize my 21S5P (100Ah) scooter battery. It took nearly a week, but was much less work for me than clamping 105 cells to an RC-charger and wait up to an hour for each cell until they are at the same voltage level. I checked the cell with the lowest and the highest voltage level...

Re: Modular Battery suitcase

It sounds like you had determined it wasn't necessary to test the individual cell voltage variances or attempt to balance the cells or balance the 14 assembled p-group (10p) modules within at least 50mV of each other. Why are you saying that? I did measure each module and I'm in the process of manu...

Re: Modular Battery suitcase

If the BMS does not either alert you via some active method that does not require you to interact with it to find out (such as via beeping loudly, etc) or better yet to error out and shutdown both charge and discharge ports when cell differences exceed it's ability to balance, then it is potentiall...
