Relay or solid state switch to turn on my 90v DCDC for lights safely

Hi, I just tried to make a mosfet switch to turn on my DCDC for the bike lights. I wored it so that when the controller is turned on and 5v is present, it would open the gate for the full volts to the DCDC. I want to do this as my battery is 77v and the switches and relays are only up to about 28v D...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

Hi, i'm having an issue with my controller powering down randomly while in use. I'm using the x4throttle branch with a KT36ZWSRTB-SJT02LB controller. Does anyone know if it's advisable to power my DCDC (used to power my Sempu torque sensor 12v and my BT module 5v) from the blue cable of the LCD disp...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

There seem to be different PCB assemblies. Some have a pullup resistor at X4, some doesn't. See this post: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=87870&p=1426450&hilit=temperature+sensor#p1426450 So you can try two solutions: Identify the pullup resistor on the pcb and r...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

Has anyone observed issues with using a throttle on the x4 input? I have a resting voltage of 5v, which seems to be causing the issue as it reads at 4.3v when connected. I have the KT36ZWSRTB-SJT02LB Does anyone know why it's pulled to +5v? It's the same on three identical units i have and prevents ...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

Thanks Silentguy, I've messaged with Geoff too who also tried to get a Torque and Throttle working. He's used the https://github.com/stancecoke/BMSBattery_S_controllers_firmware/tree/x4throttle successfully, so I'm trying that now. I will report on my progress and hopefully be of use to others tryin...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

Hello, I'm trying to get my Sempu T4 Torque sensor working along with a regular throttle, but i'm struggling with the last part of the setup. I have: - KT24/36SVPR-HRD01 controller flashed with the "torque_from_X4" branch of the code - Sempu T4 torque sensor 8-60v version - 36v battery - B...

Re: LG HG2 Pack problems

Unfortunately I had no way to see the voltage while under load. If they are fakes they would need to be pretty close in spec as I measured the capacity which checks out and they didn’t get too hot when running at 16A per cell.

LG HG2 Pack problems

Hi, I've built quite a few packs using Sanyo GA cells and had hardly any issues at all, even when intentionally pushing them to their limits. I've recently built three packs with HG2 cells and had issues with them all. However, i was pushing them to their limits too, so i wanted to ask if anyone can...

Yeah, not just possible but also part of the plan :-)
Is an iPhone app part of the long term plan?

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

Thank you! :) duly noted Gear ratio is really only needed for determining the correct speed, motor will not turn differently if you change it, only the set speed limits work different then. Strange as this totally alters the behavior of my motor, works great at 126, if i change it to 140, starts to ...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

Hi, i'm new to this, but have it working with the app and the motor spinning! I've got the hall order (starting from 12 oclock on the donut, running clockwise) in the right order for my YTW-06. I've set the gear ratio as the effective pole pairs, which is 17.5 * 8 = 140. But the speed is slow. I inc...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited run

Quick Q about field weakening.. is there any way to selectively enable and disable it? It's trivial to do this in the config program. If you're talking about handlebar control, you can't do it via CR or a simple switch. You can change any settings via MODBUS if you code up an Arduino or something. ...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

You can try it of course, but I don't recomment to do it. The big resistor and the voltage regulator will get very hot. Perhaps the voltage will drop and you'll get a very strange behaviour of the whole system. regards stancecoke Thanks, i've ordered a little DCDC. I'm all set and ready to flash th...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

Hi stancecoke, You mention using a Buck converter to power the HC-05 bluetooth module, which needs around 30ma at 5v. My current meter shows 40ma from the controller and I have only a PAS running directly from the battery, so would it be ok to run the bluetooth module if it's the only 5v sensor and ...

This explains a lot about what is possible with the KT controller: https://opensourceebikefirmware.bitbucket.io/windows_instructions/index4.html There'sa connection on the circuit board to make the regen linear, so i'm going to try and wire that up. Incidentally, this is also the connection for temp...
