Got it working with a Sempu on the YTW-06. Working great with the Bluetooth app, now just fine-tuning t...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

Thank you! :) duly noted Gear ratio is really only needed for determining the correct speed, motor will not turn differently if you change it, only the set speed limits work different then. Strange as this totally alters the behavior of my motor, works great at 126, if i change it to 140, starts to ...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

Hi, i'm new to this, but have it working with the app and the motor spinning! I've got the hall order (starting from 12 oclock on the donut, running clockwise) in the right order for my YTW-06. I've set the gear ratio as the effective pole pairs, which is 17.5 * 8 = 140. But the speed is slow. I inc...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited run

Quick Q about field weakening.. is there any way to selectively enable and disable it? It's trivial to do this in the config program. If you're talking about handlebar control, you can't do it via CR or a simple switch. You can change any settings via MODBUS if you code up an Arduino or something. ...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

Besides: I think we desperately are in need for someone to create a "how to get this thing running" flowchart /cheat sheet/youtube tutorial, something like that. So anyone who want's to contribute is welcome. What's not so welcome are ppl that produce a constant stream of support requests :) I'm up...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

You can try it of course, but I don't recomment to do it. The big resistor and the voltage regulator will get very hot. Perhaps the voltage will drop and you'll get a very strange behaviour of the whole system. regards stancecoke Thanks, i've ordered a little DCDC. I'm all set and ready to flash th...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

Hi stancecoke, You mention using a Buck converter to power the HC-05 bluetooth module, which needs around 30ma at 5v. My current meter shows 40ma from the controller and I have only a PAS running directly from the battery, so would it be ok to run the bluetooth module if it's the only 5v sensor and ...

Re: PSWPower Sinewave Controller w/ regen braking

QUICK UPDATE Slow Start This KT controller ramps up to full torque quite slowly. Is there any way to decrease the ramp up time? Regen: I've managed to get the Regenerative braking working using the KT LCD3 display and changing the setting C13 to 1. It's not possible to access these settings using th...

Re: PSWPower Sinewave Controller w/ regen braking

This explains a lot about what is possible with the KT controller: https://opensourceebikefirmware.bitbucket.io/windows_instructions/index4.html There'sa connection on the circuit board to make the regen linear, so i'm going to try and wire that up. Incidentally, this is also the connection for temp...

Hey, i'm about to get going on one of these using a KT controller. I've got the Regen working on the controller and wondering if anyone has figured out how to lock the clutch? I opened mine up and sealed it for oil filling and didn't properly check that myself. I'm going to be welding a Bafang G01 s...

Re: PSWPower Sinewave Controller w/ regen braking

In case you didn't know about it, for KT controllers and LCD3 displays, Casainho/stancecoke/etc have written open-source firmware to replace the original, that gives you control over everything in it. I have never used it (don't have these controllers) so don't know any details, but you can search ...

Re: PSWPower Sinewave Controller w/ regen braking

The third wire is for systems that use a hall switch sensor in the brake lever. To activate the brakes, the signal wire gets grounded. You can just touch the wires to test. If your brake levers have mechanical switches, the 5v line is not used, just signal and ground. Is this for those hydraulic br...

Re: PSWPower Sinewave Controller w/ regen braking

davidserin, I haven't been on here in a while, but will give my 2 cents. Secondly, you're probably more technically inclined than me, but I do have a KT controller with the KT-LCD3, so here goes. 1. As I recall PS Power offers the same products as KT (just rebranded). Thanks for chipping in, really...

Re: PSWPower Sinewave Controller w/ regen braking

With the LCD3 .pdf docs you need to learn to decipher the "chinglish" translation. Not always easy as you can see.... Thanks AHicks, I have it working now. I also tried it again with the display removed and it preserves the settings. Bonus! I'm planning to use this controller on a SWXH with welded ...

Re: PSWPower Sinewave Controller w/ regen braking

The brake input is not variable. It's on or off. Oh really, thanks for confirming. That's annoying as they also confirmed that the braking was proportional on email. :( The third wire is for systems that use a hall switch sensor in the brake lever. I'm using a throttle, which has a hall sensor, but...

Re: PSWPower Sinewave Controller w/ regen braking

The regen is not really noticeable unless at speeds in excess of 10mph or so. At least that the case w/26-27" wheels. Brake wires must be shorted to activate. Is there any indication of it working at lower speeds? With the Phaserunner, you can feel it at least attempting to push back all the way do...
