Re: Heavy Duty Freewheel - crankset
There was a thread some time ago on crank freewheel failure. Mine was perfectly safe in that the pawls and centre section failed in a way there was zero engagement so no drive whatsoever. Luckily happened as I cruised back home into my driveway

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log
Evening folks, I have just, finally, destroyed my crank freewheel on my Tangent kit and need a replacement. I am happy with either the Cyclone heavy duty or the White industries heavy duty one: does any one know where I can get either in the UK or EU as I could really do with it being back on the ro...

Re: Nickel Strip ratings
Thanks Lionman,
I will see if i can borrow the spot welder again at some point and add more of these strips.
Would it be necessary to add them to all connections or just across the series cross overs?

Thank you!
If I were to run a bead of solder across the series connections would that help or is that a silly idea?

Re: Nickel Strip ratings
Thanks Spinning Magnets, nothing is confidential by any means. The pack is on an ebike yes and was built for pack performance and longevity as the small amp draw (relative to what it could theoretically pump out) is low. I am currently running a Castle talon 120 and will be moving back to the HV160 ...

Re: Nickel Strip ratings
Thanks guys. We built the pack as two 6s16p so I can join them together in series to make a 12s16p pack on the bike and have a modular pack for future builds I have planned. We ran the main pos and neg leads the full length of packs with 8awg and xt150 anti spark terminals. You are recommending we a...

Thank you, 10a per cell, continuous or peak? ...any tips on how I work that out on a pack basis? I have 196 cells in my pack...I assume I use the parallel count as it is the paralleling of cells that ups our amp hours?!spinningmagnets wrote: ↑Feb 22 2019 12:00pmIf it is truly 0.15mm pure nickel, it should be fine for 10A per cell.

Hi All, I am just wondering if someone can point me to a chart or resource that will show me the current ratings for this: https://eu.nkon.nl/accessories/battery-solder-strip/nikkel-batterijpack-verbinding-soldeerstrip-27mm.html nickel strip 27mm x 0.15m. I have asked Nkon and they don't know! Thanks

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release
Is the CA actually outputting a throttle voltage above the minimum the ESC triggers on? (or a pulse width greater than the minimum, if it's a PWM throttle input on the ESC). If so, that sounds like a bug. If not, then there is probably something about the ESC's throttle input that is reacting to a ...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release
Any ideas on the key switch problem I have are appreciated... loop key in = main battery power to esc. Key switch on = CA on....everything is fine and works as it should. key switch off = CA off. If I leave the loop key in place and the ESC powered on here and then turn the key back to on, re poweri...

SO much good info here, thanks guys. Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release
Ham, is that shunt value something you calculated or was it what the manufacturer supplied for the new shunt? I just purchased a new shunt for my next project and found that the RShunt value supplied is actually the same as the potted units supplied by Tangent (GrinTech) even though the current lev...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release
Hi Justin. Thanks for the response, Forgive me in advance as much of this is Greek to me. The CA is running with the Tangent RC set up with an Astro 3220 and a Castle HV 120 (soon to be hv160 again) if that helps. I am pretty sure the limits are current limited and matched to the ESC higher end of 1...
