Steel full suspension disc bicycle

I am looking for a steel, full suspension bicycle that has disc brakes. Going to weld a rack onto the rear for mounting controller/battery. Have one? Know of any available online?

Mounting odd hub into truing stand

https://i.imgur.com/hhQ1fz7.jpg This hub is from a trike, but I don't know how to mount it into a truing stand.

I try to true the wheel while it's mounted on the trike, but I keep messing it up, sucks this way. Anyone know a way to mount this funky hub in a truing stand?

Thanks

Linked alarms, there are wireless ones. Sounds like you, Dan, had a smoke alarm in the attached garage but was unable to hear it. The topic of the perfect alarm is unclear to me, but I have a linked alarm in my garage as well as various parts of the house. But I am worried once I start welding some ...

Re: Looking for symmetrical front disc bicycle hubs

disc hubs are asymmetrical by nature, because the wheel has to be made narrower on the disc side to accommodate the disc itself. This, just like with rear wheels (due to the cassette or freewheel, and chain), makes the wheel weaker, particularly under side loads, because it narrows the base of the ...

Re: Lacing Pattern for Q128 Hub Motor on 700c?

Spoke angle is usually an issue for hub motor wheel builds. The large rim diameter and smaller hub motor make it much less of an issue here. I've asked about spoke/nipple angle maximums, never really get a solid answer as it's often supremely circumstantial, some rims might be better suited for high...

Looking for symmetrical front disc bicycle hubs

Hello, I am looking for symmetrical bicycle hubs for front wheels that have a disc mount and use cartridge style bearings. Right now I am thinking of trying to simply add some sort of spacers to the other side of the axle in order to match the spacing of disc mount so the spoke flanges become center...

Re: Programmable Controllers

In my experience, usually they include some degree of documentation, usually by e-mail, on programming controllers. But I suspect some people just rely on whatever stock settings are included in their controller. I am guessing em3ev would e-mail information on request if nothing else, but I am guess...

Re: Battery-Carrying Rear Rack Failures. Dampening Needed?

I had the same problem with aluminum racks, full suspension frames. The racks I used we're loaded vastly below their ratings, I just looked for the highest load rating and went with that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatigue_limit "Other structural metals such as aluminium and copper, do not have a...

Re: What is the narrowest option for 21" moto tires?

I've been shopping to insane degrees for tires myself, no expert though, and certainly not on 21" moto tires. Feel free to ignore this bit if you understand aspect ratio to a crystal clear degree. It may also be worth understanding aspect ratio. Took me a while to figure it out. Here is the math for...

Re: Enduro ebike swing arm dropout problem

unfortunely i cant just drill out a bit of the part where the derailleur threads line up as the two screws that hold the plate on would need redrilling like 2mm to the left - meaning it would completely bork the two holes where the screws mount the plates together I am guessing it is close to impos...

Re: Enduro ebike swing arm dropout problem

the derailleur mount is moved by doing so If it was necessary maybe you could use the derrailuer threads already on the frame, just by hacking off a small amount of the other leg where it interferes? Personally, the worst case scenario to myself might be to remove the 2 bolts, place the torque arm ...

Re: Enduro ebike swing arm dropout problem

How tight are the bolts? Any play when you loosen them? Does it line back up when you tighten them? Have you removed the plate and put it back on? Are the bolts bent at all?

If you use longer bolts and flip the torque plate around does the plate line up?

Beyond 16" motorcycle rims and 20" bicycle tires, are there other bicycle tires that fit other motorcycle rim sizes? Per http://www.sheldonbrown.com/rim-sizing.html the bead seat...

Most of the time it is a matter of minutes before I am back on my bike riding again. The vast majority of people have never heard of a spoke wrench and wouldn't know what to do with one if you gave it to them. If I said to a customer, "Oh yeah, just replace that spoke and tighten the adjacent ones ...

Re: heavy rider spokeless integrated hub motor. Discuss?

you CAN NOT lace a large hub-motor to a 20" rim, unless it is laced radially Really depends on the rim. Plenty of 16" (which is usually basically 20" bicycle rim in ERD) moped/motorcycle rims come with angled nipple holes which should allow for acceptable spoke angle with at least single cross laci...

Flat black paint takes care of the side covers. ;) You are right, and I strongly considered that idea myself, but the legs being largely separated looks super unusual and I doubt it's a strong as even spacing. Partially what interests me so about the spoked wheel is the potential for the wheel to b...
