Re: Coaster brake ebrake cutoff sensor

Isn't the torque arm usually attached directly to the axle? Axle can't rotate easily when clamped into the frame.

Re: Your Creation's Before & After Pics

eBikes know the difference. At the Summit if FF is not boiling it's a hill. If it's boiling then your thermal rollback quit working on that mountain. A hill is a piece of land that rises higher than everything surrounding it. It looks like a little bump in the Earth. Since theyre higher than everyt...

Yes, excellent idea. No need for anybody to get personal. Insults are not allowed.

Re: Coaster brake ebrake cutoff sensor

Done with EN15194 pedelecs that don't have ebrake switches, torque sensor instead and is probably your best option.

Fremantle. There's a little up and down along the Swan, but not a hill within 50km. Oh, is that a fact? Off the top of my head, I can probably list at least 5 decent ball busters within 10 kms of Freo, but hey, I'm no super-human cycling athlete, so it is possible that you and I have differi...

FOSS project already exists. Ready to contribute? :D

My Arduino controller project has progressed to the point I am 99% satisfied... there is always 1%.

Most people just want to plug it in and go.

Re: Bafang G310 geared hub - 11:1 reduction ratio!!!

I had my G311 apart this week for a check up. Better part of six months and 15,000km since potting the windings and board, also no internal wires exposed. Using ATF as the lubricant and coolant. Looking good, like new... but I didn't take any pics. You mean you actually potted the components in epo...

Re: Anyone have Rear Radar Alert?

I did something similar. I made mine out of spokes carefully bent into shape and dental mirrors (which have good optics) and attached them to my glasses. Because of the size of the mirror they are very close to my glasses, but they work very well. Lots of howtos on the www. Some involve bottle tops....

Re: Cycle Analyst - still solid choice?

This week I got forums controller "FTP" code working. A kInd of proportional assist. The code uses input from direct force power meter (human power), road speed, air data (altitude and air speed) and incline and uses values for desired CdA, Crr and weight to adjust assist. I can set the hu...

Re: Anyone have Rear Radar Alert?

All it does is alert me to the presence of a faster moving vehicle approaching from behind. 110kph/70mph limits everywhere near me and rural area with trucks pulling two trailers. The only time I don't have vehicles overtaking all the time is when I am in the car or on a motorcycle. Varia lets me kn...

Re: Anyone have Rear Radar Alert?

I use RTL-515. It is hard to be without it now. Also RVR315 with separate light. They see cars long before I can. I use the audio cues and go straight to the mirror or camera and always check for more traffic behind the first to pass. $20 wireless reverse camera wired to my main battery. iPhone on Q...

Re: Strategies to increase range while on road (you can't use a gas station)

Assist power limit or throttle doesn't have nearly the same effect on minimising Wh/km as assist speed limit, I can run any power limit I like with only a few points Wh/km variation as long as I am doing my part.

I wouldn't. Plenty of LED ebike headlights out there that will run on 60V or more. Also this is a Cree LED headlamp. The paperwork shows 10-80volts But the first one I connected straight to the battery and I believe it fried the diode or something. I didn’t smell anything but the light won’t turn o...

Range? I believe you can track it as far as you want. so, if i have an iPhone, I can pay $30 for the tag, and theres no monthly charge? Yes exactly! I was quite surprised that it was only $30 with no hidden fees. Basically connect it to your iPhone and your good to go. You can track it through find...
