Re: Industrial Motor gokart build

Been slowly making progress. Have the seat mounted and spent way to much time fabing the hall effect sensor for the foot throttle. Next on the agenda is battery placement.

Re: Industrial Motor gokart build

Motor mount is complete! Has the ability to go side to side and back-forth fairly easy. Used a 3/8" plate of aluminum. https://i.imgur.com/PdCQMjL.jpg https://i.imgur.com/zJil7UB.jpg And started on the battery tray: https://i.imgur.com/XgQGtbu.jpg https://media.giphy.com/media/BzPnEA1de6rSM/giphy.gif

Re: Industrial Motor gokart build

Spent some time cleaning up the axle. She spins a hell of a lot smoother now with new bearings. Also a new sprocket hub and 67T #35 sprocket.

Re: Industrial Motor gokart build

Kiddos' 4th bday was Saturday and also taking care of a 3m old so the build is starting off a little slow. Ordered new rear axle bearings for her today and just got the cheapo 3pin Chinese foot throttle for it in the mail. Rather then "make" the foot throttle work I am going to go with a pull thrott...

Re: Yiyun yk31c controller going full voltage to motor w/ no input

if it's brushed then blown fets would usually fail shorted, causing full power anytime system is powered on. unfortunatley most of the cheap brushed controllers don't seem to have current limiting, so they'll try to put out whatever the motor asks for, which blows fets when the contorller can't rea...

Yiyun yk31c controller going full voltage to motor w/ no input

Has anyone seen the yiyun yk31c controller going full voltage to motor with no input from the throttle before? The first time: Been riding the razor for two days and all of a sudden it went full voltage to motor as soon as i turned it on. Had to pull a cable off a battery to get it to stop. to troub...

Re: Industrial Motor gokart build

So far the kart is a little rough.. I took off the axle and cleaned it up added a sprocket hub and am now waiting on a new sprocket. And still need to figure out how to mount the seat. Once I have it how I like it, I will strip her back down and paint etc. Tonight I started on building a bracket for...

Industrial Motor gokart build

Been tinkering with mini motos, mini bikes and razor dune buggies for the last couple years and wanted to get something a little more comfortable. I bought a Leeson motor off ebay for a great deal and after a year of searching I finally picked up a kart racing chassis for a decent price. Plan: 48 vo...

Re: Please help me figure out wiring this Starglobe controll

I think I have the battery and motor setup correctly The two plug red/grn wires the red is putting out 37v. And on the throttle connector the red wire is putting out 5.7v. the big Yellow wire puts out .03v. None of the other throttle plugs put out anything.

Please help me figure out wiring this Starglobe controller

Picked this up with a matching star globe motor a couple years ago and set them aside.. Now I am trying to use them for my 4 year olds gokart. But I either cannot figure out the wiring or it is dead.. Any help is much appreciated! I am using a known working 3 pin throttle and 36v. I also tested the ...

Re: Please help me figure out these lithium pouches

What charger do you have ? When charging numbers aren't linear. It may take a long time to 4.1 volts, but after that it's off to the races 4.15 then 4.2 and it's gone like a rocket ( puff ). Just letting you know as soon as you get to far away things happen. I have a voltsphere single cell lifepo4 ...

Re: Please help me figure out these lithium pouches

Is it normal for the battery to take this long to charge? Going from 2.05v to 2.17v has taken roughly 4.5 hours @.3 -.5amps. What "pack" configuration are you charging now ? 4 cells in series ? Or 4 in parallel, or just a single cell ? Either way though, that 0.3 amps for 4 hrs is only 1+ Ahr into ...

Where do you live ?
I will toss it back on the charger when I get home and see if she will make it to 3.5.

Re: Please help me figure out these lithium pouches

Charged her up last night from 1.48 to 2.05v on the nimh setting. @ .3amps only took 150ish minutes.. Good news is this morning the pack still shows 2.05v. So going to try and charge her the rest of the way today after work. Would there be any issues raising the amps to .4 or .5 to speed things up o...

I am looking for any controller that is a minimum 40amp and max of 100 amps. Anything 36-60volt will work.

Thanks!

Re: Please help me figure out these lithium pouches

Doing more research I came across a post saying that some companies store and ship the lipos at a very low charge and you have to "wake" them up. It sounds good, but I only read it in the one place. I bought the imax b6 pro charger that I can plug into my laptop for more cell data. I will keep you p...

Best way to charge NiMH battery pack?

Picked up some Panasonic batteries. Each bank of 10 batteries is 13.xx volts and 100aH. I charged one of them with my lead acid charger until the light came on the charger showing it was full. Each cell shows the same volts so maybe that way is good enough? But I don't want to chance over charging a...
