Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

Figured I would review my options with what I've already got. That cap pack does look nice tho.

Can we work on a Kweld 2.0? One that arranges the welder and the caps into a Borg cube type setup? Would be a bit more tidy than daisy chaining components.

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

I'm in the same boat Hummina. But I'm pretty sure its my anemic 3s 10ah lifepo4 pack. Had it at 70% SOC and it only delivered 300 amps. By default the Kweld looks for an 800a or better pulse. Whats weird is I tried a very new and healthy turnigy panther graphene 6s 4ah 75c pack. Didnt even try going...

Re: Balance Discharger... or is there anything else?

You could just buy an inverter with a 48v input. Then plug in a space heater or something. I've got a smallish window AC unit that draws about 450 watts. But keep in mind that some AC appliances have a current spike on startup.

Re: Balance Discharger... or is there anything else?

I'm familiar with Rc balance chargers. They usually dont have a whole lot of discharge current. Even Revolectrix doesnt. I have one and it does 50 watts of discharge when connected to a power supply. It goes higher if you use the regen feature but thats only if you have batteries as a power source. ...

Re: Fewer Americans bike to work despite new trails, lanes and bicycle share programs

Theres a bike lane a few miles from my house. Its one of a very few in the whole county. It actually splits the right turn lane from the 2 lanes going straight thru a light and its bi-directional. Meaning if I were to use it I would be not only in the middle of 3 lanes but possibly going against tra...

Re: Balance Discharger... or is there anything else?

Hmmmm..... I have been looking at " active balancers " on ebay and youtube. Just wondering if they might resolve some particularly persistent persnickety problematic balance issues. Active Balancer 8S(400).jpg https://youtu.be/Fb52fVaMeY8 https://youtu.be/40rAkqBz8Vk The idea is they migr...

Re: LWB recumbent for long trips.

Thanks for the reply. Working on a long term project here and was wondering how to join tubes to wheels. Going to eventually build a solar bicycle trailer/camper.

Those tube clamps you have elsewhere remind me of hydraulic pipe or Stauff clamps I see on ebay.

Re: LWB recumbent for long trips.

Love that no weld philosophy. Works great for us non-welders.

Are those bike stems as rear dropouts? How does that work? Are those solid axles, QR or thru-hubs?

Re: 72v 20ah 100a BMS battery

Any more specifics? What type of cells and battery chemistry? What is the battery for? An ebike?

Also what country are you in? There are lots of restrictions on shipping batteries these days.

I'd be interested to see a chain drive or a belt drive version that isnt a pant leg eater.

Are there any Kweld kits available in the US? The 18650shrinkandcellholders.com site seems to be out of commission.

Re: RC throttle interface build tutorial........

I just completed and tested my throttle assembly. Didnt even need to install a jumper wire. Thanks to Recumpence and everyone else who contributed to this thread.

I might have lost functionality with the 48v battery meter on the throttle, but thats ok.
