Re: Mobipus Controller Official

Does anyone have a pre-charger he could recommend me for the 72600? I don't want the big bang when connecting my 20s 600A battery to the mobipus. Don't want to destroy it without riding it beforehand :D Resistor with right value and size must be most common setup since I have not seen many ready ma...

Re: Spot Welding Copper Strips to 18650 Battery Cells

I have not tried thicker than 0.2mm copper so 2mm must be totaly different beast to weld. Maybe if electrodes are placed on opposite sides (one against 2mm copper and another 0.15mm nickel side) it would be easier or even possible to weld .

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

Also if you have more batteries you should try to ad one more paralel so weld current goes up to 1500-1800A and that gives you shorter pulse times what means in copper welding that more energy goes to weld and less for heating the copper around the weld. I bet you can turn down joule setting with m...

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

0.1mm copper 0.2mm nickel 90 joules 1150-1200 amps Looks a little hot, but during tests, this is where Good adhesion is. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-K7nLbpHJJgJjSZHHYbwyDEvOcehPNMV/view?usp=drivesdk 90 joules sound like a lot to me. I think I used 50-60 just for 0.1mm copper. It is not very s...

Re: Mobipus Controller Official

Does anyone know by the way how to connect the hall sensors? The Mobipus has Hall B, G Y on its datasheet, meanwhile my me1304 Motor has "sin", "cos" and "shield". How do I connect them now? Hard to say for sure. I would put blue to blue and green to green so that leaves yellow to white. Test it wi...

Re: Mobipus Controller Official

A couple of questions, if anyone knows. I get an occasional "Motor Coil Fault Type B" error with shutdown, what should I look for? Also, it appears that there is a firmware update available for the controller itself, is that advisable? I'd hate to turn the controller which is mostly working ok into...

I have similar looking ant bms that just one time when I installed my battery back after some tire work gave the discharge mosfet abnormality error. Re: Spot Welding Copper Strips to 18650 Battery Cells

Kweld is probably best at that price point but 0.3mm copper could be too thick for it. Depends really how thick the nickel plating is on that strip. If you buy kweld for that job you want to go for dual lipos that will give close to 2000A weld current and thicker leads on electrodes to have any chan...

Improving the heat management of the controller: mounting a 400g alu block with heat paste between the two. Simple, crude but effective for a while :D 27DDDC34-DD3C-4ACB-889D-C1E9926A684D.jpeg That reminds me of a guy from other forum that mounted about same sized block of copper to his cpu and was...

I would like to ask users of kWeld, how is the status of heat, working temperature? I do not see any sink heaters, or fan? Thanks for answers... Never had any issues with the unit itself. I have a EEB frame on order and suspension and other bits. But the drive train is still up in their air I'm doing as much research as possible before deciding on a Qs205, qs273 or a mid drive. I have EEB frame too. It can take mid-drive but its really meant for hubs. 205 is good for up to 12 to eve...

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

Would the resistance reading after a spot weld be a good proxy for the resistance of the material being welded (assuming the strips are identical in size and are being spot welded to the exact same battery)? I had success in spot welding two different materials (SigmaCLAD and “Nickle Silver”) using...

Re: 2m diameter wheel inflatable car-ish build!

Original vehicle according to video weighs 119kg. Not sure if its with or without batteries. Some of it can be reduced but assuming its 2 person vehicle (It would be nice to go to lake with friend) -10 or 20kg don't matter that much and anything more seems unrealistic with cheap materials and hoverb...

Re: 2m diameter wheel inflatable car-ish build!

Wheel diameter and voltage are something that could be easily changed. Rewinding 4 motors seems like lot of work and something that I have not done before. Could I get 2 or 3 times torque out of rewound motor like from gear reduction? (at same phase amps) Probably not. 1.5m wheel diameter is still h...

Re: 2m diameter wheel inflatable car-ish build!

First of all. Old thread but Amazing project! I have been thinking for awhile to built vehicle like this. Biggest concern of mine is how the wheels will last and how expensive those will be to build (some pvc fabrics that I looked at 600-900g/m2 were +500€ for the required 2.5x20m piece to cut 8x2.5...

Re: KTM 200 exc goes electric

I was just thinking why you have different experiences with the same chain and motor/controller. Maybe it just has to do with most likely little different gearing ratios. Atv could have smaler wheelsize so at same "ground" speed chain travels faster and with less torque/stress. Or maybe motor sproke...

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

I quess it would be neat for storage to disconnect it but since it leaves electrodes and battery leads still hanging there its not that big deal. And making plugs for high power wires is more expensive and reduces performance  Or you can just make nice box/case for it that has place for welder...

Re: Another "stealth bomber" build.

So any thoughts to my question about the mount? Hard to say. Even small changes to suspension geometry can have big difference how it will feel/work. I've been working through this thread reading up on the unit and will be ordering one, probably next week, but I have one question that I haven't really seen the answer to. Is the 'kSupply' able to be used to run the kWeld instead of using a battery pack, or is it just meant to charge/power the kCa...

I think its better option than under swingarm but I also am not an engineer.
