Re: Anyone build a chinese carbon hardtail with a mid drive?

Hey sorry about the delay getting back to you. Here are the pictures of the forks I can give up. Both never ridden. They were in my attic not outside like the frame. One is a basic jump fork 1 1/8” straight steerer, compression adjustable but no rebound, it’s for a 26” tire. Has adapter on it for 1 ...

Re: Anyone build a chinese carbon hardtail with a mid drive?

actually, i may be interested... It’s a medium and was $211 new from my purchase records from AliExpress. It was stored outside and has some minor scratches. It’s super light and strong, putting my weight on it end to end and pushing (flexing) the rear inward etc. I’ll look for the headset bearings...

Re: EBB FRAME + CYCONE build thread

Consider 72/75 volts. You’re almost there, why not. A slight price increase but should have more to have you reach your goals. You might have enough power for single speed and forget about that shifting stuff. If the swing arm has horizontal dropouts you’re all set for the chain tensioner part of it.

Re: Anyone build a chinese carbon hardtail with a mid drive?

I picked one up a few years ago for a Benfang O2 not hd. It was supposed to be a 27.5 but it was only a 26 inch that I was sent. The Benfang did fit, as I know some don’t due to the larger bottom bracket area needed for extra strengthening that’s typical of carbon frames. It’s from AliExpress. Will ...

Nice build!
About that 3d printer. You must be using a 1mm nozzle. What was your layer thickness on the cover? I’m envious as I’d love to print an entire bike wheel, need 600 x 600 min. Have you considered the wax filament for the sand casting that you want to do?

Re: Another full suspension build

Love the old 4runners. That era are all rusted away and gone on the east coast. Like the bronco and the Chevy version the tops came off. No one ever did. But when you saw one you were blown away. Now the tops don’t come off, been that way for some time, sadly. All the cool gets taken away to make ro...

Re: eBike OffRoad race format

The ride+race format is something I'd considered when first coming online as a Stealth dealer, but the investment cost to offer that was a massive hurdle and HIGHLY speculative, glad I didn't put my cojones on the block for that. Would take a pretty brave/deep pocketed individual to take a chance l...

Re: CUSTOM MID MOTOR EBIKE ~3000-4000w?

The Cyclone is hard to get right now. Something fishy is going on buying direct and the two us distributors are out of stock right now, I hope this changes. I’d go with the qs 90 yeah 10lbs big deal. Add a 12f necular controller and you’ll be lovin life. That motor is IPM and has benefits over a sta...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Seems fishy to me. Isn’t paco trusted by es’ers? I do remember reading here that the 4K needed to go on a fatbike because it was wider than the normal cyclone3000. Regular 3000w one out of stock at Luna and sick bike parts.

owhite Glad you ditched the folding frame. I like that swingarm, I’ve considered a similar design approach myself, perhaps for the frame also. What thickness would you use. 1/4” seems the standard but to me seems a bit thicker would help in the dropout area. Have you considered weight? I believe a s...

Domino full twist.
I’m heading towards regen braking and after reading this post I changed my mind from left thumb to matching domino twist. Full twist seems the best for holding on.

Re: possible two-way throttle for regen braking. what should i ask for?

That is a great find and a good sign of where the technology is headed. I’m going to definitely try this out over separate both sides of the handlebar set up. It looks like you are trying to connect a drone esc to a sensorless drone motor? I don’t think it’s the same as a normal Ebike throttle. One ...

Re: How do you size the right Mid Drive?

I’m with PWD and the cyclone. I have years on mine but don’t run at %50. More is always more. You can always ride under full throttle and have some reserve power for bursts and an out for tricky situations like wiping out or falling over, like something with power can do. More power is less shifting...

Nice work on the bike and printer especially! My measly 400x400x500 is jealous. What print board and firmware did you use? Did you make your own heated bed in that size? I print only pteg because of the sun and heat resistance over pla. Printing .4 layers with a .6 nozzle big time saver.

Hi Guys, this motor looks great. I'm look for a replacement for my cyclone 3000. I'm running it at 72v and am having overheating problems. This motor looks much better built. I wondered if someone could confirm the weight. The spec sheets suggest around 7kg which seems a bit much? Do you think it a...

Using the map my ride app I’ve reached 38 mph going downhill on this retro modern kinda board track racer. It’s long and heavy, good for speed. 27.5 inch Schwalbe supermoto x 2.4” Tires that are 2.75” on 50mm rim at 30psi. It’s has 6 6s multistar 16ah batteries, 3 in series, so I’m running 72 (75 st...

AliExpress, like eBay, Amazon etc should always be considered.

Here you go...
Also there are several USA manufacturers still making the old school mini bike kits, raw steel, no motor.
