Re: Full Chaincase Solutions - Hebie Chainglider

I never heard of a chaincase before reading your post. Explains what I remember seeing on a bike a while back. It must have been a DIY version. It was made of the wire moulding stuff. It did not move but the bike and obviously the chain moved. I had to take a second look for sure. Thinking it was th...

Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev! [beta]

When do you think the 12f controller will be ready? Don’t want to kill myself having a bike ready for spring or summer. The thought of the possibility is nice though.

Re: Calling all Belt Drive Experts

FZBob Great hand work there. I don’t think I’d have the patience to do that accurately. I’ve been looking for pulleys for my future build but in the larger 8mm pitch. I found a distubtror of pulleys where the center bore and keyhole size, and set screw, can be customized. The link below is for the s...

Re: Calling all Belt Drive Experts

Pretty cool to see the photo of the quage to check runout. I converted .02” to .508mm. Could prob build/print a centering jig to check as you drill out the holes. Or not. To keep things simple and moving here perhaps the original creator of the pulley crank could help out with the changes. Qwiksand ...

Re: Calling all Belt Drive Experts

FZBob

If the bike moves, without totally shattering the 3d printed pulley, then I’d say it was a success. Improvements to come as you’ve mentioned. Glad you explained that the tensioner puts more teeth engagemeing at the belt and motor pulley. I hadn’t realized that previously.

Re: Calling all Belt Drive Experts

Qwiksand Nice work especially the 2nd one where the gear teeth are on the inside/back of the chain wheel. With the integrated chainwheel metal would be best. Could 3d print the dust/weather shielding to keep costs down. I’ve been following this guys thread and this amazing swingarm for his Vespa tha...

Re: Calling all Belt Drive Experts

Chalo With regards to 3d printing... ...“it’s just another tool in the toolbox”. I’m looking forward to wheels and frames being printed on larger faster printers. Prototype, finished product, molds, jigs for welding, etc. It’s why we’re here to try new things and push limits. Any method that works i...

Re: Calling all Belt Drive Experts

FZBob That does look bad ass, sick what have you. The best part is the simplicity and compactness. I was worried the belt might not engage in the teeth of the pulley that I printed for you. Glad it does! Things can grow a bit when 3d printing, if your flow rate is too high or you’re printing squishe...

Wow
Did they thread the holes for you also? I’d have 3d printed many tests before sending in my final cad file. I’d be nervous it wasn’t right.

Re: Calling all Belt Drive Experts

Nice work... Glad that pulley is getting some dialogue going. I just picked up qs1000w mid drive motor. It came with the larger 8mm pitch pulley installed. For skipping reasons I think it needs to be this size. It’s for a 15mm wide belt. I didn’t count teeth but it’s around 2 inches in diameter. So ...

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

eee291 Could you tell me if it’s normal threads or reverse? Clockwise to tighten is normal. I hate tightening (unknowingly) when I should be loosening, makes loosening that much harder. Is that center hole threaded, you show a nut, my pulley is secured with a bolt. Picture is distorted. It’s not rea...

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

My 1000w qs middrive motor came with this 8mm pitch timing belt pulley. I think the 2000W and 3000w motors will also ship this way unless you plan otherwise with the supplier. I ordered from Alibaba but see no real advantage of doing so. Special requests would likely have to come from qs motors dire...

Re: Calling all Belt Drive Experts

Can you design your bike motor to not need an idler? I'm planning to avoid them if I can. It looks like the same 825mm belt can be used both with and without an idler. And the belt is only $10.98 at V belt supply! Belt Length a.jpg FZBob Nice Cad work. I forgot about the black background. Do you ha...

Re: Calling all Belt Drive Experts

FZBob That does look like the pulley. Can you design your bike motor to not need an idler? I'm planning to avoid them if I can. It would be easier to add the 2nd flange as a seperate part. It would need support printed with the model in the tooth area, that area is too small to work. Could be a bash...

Re: Calling all Belt Drive Experts

lets try it It feels very strong. I had to slow down the print infill and put tape on the bed leveling screws as the printer shakes like crazy when printing the teeth on the pulley. A good challange though nonetheless. So one failed print attempt. Actually printed in 7hrs 49 min. Remember larger pri...

Re: Calling all Belt Drive Experts

I use ViaCad Pro 9 for my CAD work. I sliced the 120 pulley and it came out to 9 hrs and 22 mins. This is with a .3mm layer height and a solid fill for strength and machinability if needed. 60mm/second for all but first layer, PTEG. This would be $140 using my pricing scheme. I'm sure I can do some ...

Re: Calling all Belt Drive Experts

Qs motors are now selling motors for mid drives that were originally set up as belt drive. I’ve ordered the smallest 1000w version. I’d expect to see more belt drives in the future, at least for the primary reduction as mr magnets states. In the market for a 3d printer look at the alfawise U10 from ...

EddySw How long did you own the ebike before it died? The problem with proprietary is you could end up with a two wheeled paperweight. Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

I don’t think anyone is selling decent, proven cyclone mounts. Sick bike parts and Luna cycle have versions but they are untested and reviewed here in ES. Sick bikes looks like the standard mount that maybe just does not come in the kit. Luna’s looks promising just not my thing. I got my hands on on...

Re: What's the deal with ordering from QSmotor?

Most if not all of qsmotor inventory is now on AliExpress and Alibaba, descriptions are a bit weak as to what you get motor and controller and maybe the swingarm also. Saw a $50 difference from one to the other as one had high shipping for the kit and the same shipping for just the motor ,$150 extra...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Flat tire The chain tensioner is on the slack side. The chain is not tight and not under load as it is. Been working great for three years now. The only mishap is when I go out in pants and catch a pant leg in it and it gets bent out of alignment and won’t function. I manage to get home. A pivoting ...
