Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

A good reference thanks! For those starting out it could be a way to go. You buy these bargain bikes for the frame and wheels only. Everything else must be replaced. I went with the freewheel not cassette type of wheel, which most of these are I think anyway. I figured replacing freewheels a better ...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

I’m not so sure about a bargain. They were $175 each. Got a bunch of AliExpress items from the 11. 11 sale which wasn’t so much of a sale anyway as it seems these are the regular prices. This bike has the 3 22ah where my retro cruiser used 6 16ah lipos but the multistar. So far the performance is g...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

After two weekends of changing the settings in the app, and testing the bike, mostly fast start and soft start settings, I’ve come to one conclusion. That is both being off works the best for me. Any sort of soft start just put a delay or its own ramp ontop of what I was giving it from the throttle....

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

I wanted to contribute to keep some content flowing about the cyclone. I don’t want any newbies to overlook this kit as an option. This is my first attempt at an off road ride. I wanted a modest fatbike but most budget ones with straight tubing that looks too small do not appeal to me. If I was goin...

QS motors is more popular around here. I’ve read the larger 3000 watt can produce 9000 plus watts. Pair with a Nuclear controller 24f for best results. Do some searching and read up on this great resource called endless sphere. If you want a nuclear controller there’s a long waiting list as it’s so ...

Re: 120v aluminum/cromo TIG welding on bike frames - possible?

I’ll probably get some flack for mentioning I’m using the multiplaz welder. It does need 220v for welding steel. There’s a circuit combiner that you can get. It combines two 110v separate circuits into the needed 220v. This is an option that I didn’t need. I couldn’t deal with tanks and the welding ...

I like this new subfourm! I see es is looking for help and I’m glad to see some growth, I don’t want it loose traction to say Facebook, it’s just not for me. I wouldn’t exclude swingarms and forks but I don’t think it needs to be in the title. I’ve been pondering the Honda grom frame and maybe a sin...

Re: Custom frame for the Cyclone Coaxial motor

Looking good. Did you use electrical conduit or emt? I’m thinking so because of your video of removing the galvanized coating with vinegar. I’ve seen excessively long chopper forks made with it but it was the thick “rigid” 1/8” stuff. It looks like you welded sections to create the miters and did no...

Think that all these lights are draining the battery. You should confirm, parasitic leakage test for automotive battery. Some random search https://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/parasitic-battery-drain-test/ You can perform a current drain test with just your multimeter by connecting it in series w...

Re: Enduro Ebike frame build

It’s going to be hard to get an definite answer. There are too many types and clones of clones. It seems most have a upper shock mount that can be moved up or down so your distance is adjustable. I’d think a spacer may be needed at some point, or a longer upper mount arm to position the shock more a...

Re: Custom frame for the Cyclone Coaxial motor

It looks fine to me. Ok great, keep going. Once you put the motor and wheels on it will all balance out. As I say it’s function first, but barely. It still should not be ugly but hey I think we as builders would have to try hard to make an ugly Ebike. Ugly and non functional or something we know bet...

Re: Need part options for building two e-bikes using the Qulbix DYI Moto FRAME KIT's

Your choice of parts might be too much for a street bike. Do you really need rear suspension? I’d think about a Benfang 02 or hd or a cyclone mid drive. There are many discussions about hub motors vs mid drive and the benefits of not having that weight on the wheel. What about your controller? It's ...

Re: I break the rear fork...

Steel is real, now you know why. Aluminum is very popular for frames, probably cheaper and easier to shape and weld by robots in mass quantities. Also it’s lighter which is a great selling point but it is not good for Ebike frames that use hub motors. Also it’s a one crash or incident frame that is ...

Great information on the tire width. I also love beach riding but my 3” tires only work on the wet sand that’s hard enough not to sink into. I want to hit the dunes and ride the dry sand so bigger is better after all. Keep em coming please, the posts.

Hey sorry about the delay getting back to you. Here are the pictures of the forks I can give up. Both never ridden. They were in my attic not outside like the frame. actually, i may be interested... It’s a medium and was $211 new from my purchase records from AliExpress. It was stored outside and has some minor scratches. It’s super light and strong, putting my weight on it end to end and pushing (flexing) the rear inward etc. I’ll look for the headset bearings...

Re: EBB FRAME + CYCONE build thread

Consider 72/75 volts. You’re almost there, why not. A slight price increase but should have more to have you reach your goals. You might have enough power for single speed and forget about that shifting stuff. If the swing arm has horizontal dropouts you’re all set for the chain tensioner part of it.

Re: Anyone build a chinese carbon hardtail with a mid drive?

I picked one up a few years ago for a Benfang O2 not hd. It was supposed to be a 27.5 but it was only a 26 inch that I was sent. The Benfang did fit, as I know some don’t due to the larger bottom bracket area needed for extra strengthening that’s typical of carbon frames. It’s from AliExpress. Will ...

About that 3d printer. You must be using a 1mm nozzle. What was your layer thickness on the cover? I’m envious as I’d love to print an entire bike wheel, need 600 x 600 min. Have you considered the wax filament for the sand casting that you want to do?

Love the old 4runners. That era are all rusted away and gone on the east coast. Like the bronco and the Chevy version the tops came off. No one ever did. But when you saw one you were blown away. Now the tops don’t come off, been that way for some time, sadly. All the cool gets taken away to make ro...
