Re: FIX for non trimmable Li-Ion charger that slightly overcharges eSkate

Thanks amberwolf, So kindoff going 1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3 gives the same result as 2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,1 or 3,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2 ? I read some post about this a minute ago ? This is really interesting stuff. I feel i'm really starting to better understand how ebikes work. I think it's a neutrally timed sensor p...

Re: FIX for non trimmable Li-Ion charger that slightly overcharges eSkate

One annoying thing about this electric skateboard, is although there is a mommentary switch on the remote to change the motor rotating direction, each time that I actually turn on the board, it is default setted to reverse. I had a few times were I almost fell off the board because of that. Every ti...

Re: FIX for non trimmable Li-Ion charger that slightly overcharges eSkate

Just as a follow up. The BMS on this board is just a protective LVC/HVC PCB and does not balance charge. So I measured separate cells voltage to check cell drift over cycles of my artisanal battery. Here is the results: Initially (balanced) to bulk charge voltage (29.33v or 4.19V / cell) B1 - 4.19V ...

Re: AWG amp rating chart, what about voltage?

For for higher voltage, gauge doesn't need to be different all current (amperage) being equal. What matters is this keyword "insulation". You ne to have propern insulation rating. Air can conduct high voltages through arching. This is why you see oil in high voltage trnasformet... Cannot let air con...

A good BMS is more important than battery chemistry. In my experience, BMS quality is almost universally overlooked. We assume that "just as long as you have a BMS, you're good... What do you mean current capability is too low? That's why I've made my own BeCu spring design :) https://i.imgur.com/kpeexiS.jpg Nickel plated BeCu C17530 springs. In a dual spring setup, they are absolute monsters, and have no problem handling 20A+ currents. https://i.postimg.cc/t4VKjmPq/IMG_2018...

Well flippy, this is what an 18650 going thermal can do. This is why the bunker storage and outside charging will be my only way to go in the future, regardless of chemistry. The other thing to consider is that REAL energy density does'nt just depend on the lithium chemisty. It also strongly depends of state of charge. The Schottlky diode worked perfectly well in my case. Smaller foward voltage drop of the Schottky compared to regular diode means less heat is dissipated. You can put it on either side, so as long as the diode sits in the right direction and lets de current flow. I doesn't change anything. Schottky%...
