Re: 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

I'm excited with this motor :bolt: :bolt: :bolt: a kinematic with a high pivot point will provide better absorption of shock and vibration and excellent grip for the rear wheel. Like many modern DH bikes does.

So the 1000watt version will be with an external controller and the others with a built in controller?

Re: Is a 24s battery dangerous?

I have build a 24S 16ah with four multistar. I was very anxious when I was connected for the first time everything but I think that if you are very careful you will not have problems. Anyway the first time I put on a double layer of nitril gloves by the way. I think that the simplest way is to conne...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Another minor question is the throttle. Despite the undiscussable quality of dominos throttle many downhillers like to have a direct feeling on the handbars gripps without any interference as when gravity pulls down I don't mind of the superwonderhulklike tangent motor but i need to dominate my bike...

Very very very nice job Dave. My compliment for this great motor. I think that it worth every single euro 💶 I own a couple of cyclones modified from my self and obviously are garbage in front of your Ascent but with my experience I could confirm that I never felt the necessity to have a removable mo...

Used downhill tyres as people consume the knobs really fast and remains a fresh housing of a dual ply tyre that will be ok on your ebike.

Thanks bh4801 I found really interesting your consideration based on experience...

Re: Tangent Motors RC mid drive kit

What is the advantage of the 6kw motor respect the smaller one?

I want to buy the 6kw motor not for running at 6kw but for being able to run at 3kw without stressing the motor.

I will use the lipo multistar battery in 12S 16Ah. What do you think about?

Dave is possible to use a chain tensioner device? I use both of batteries 18650 and rc lipos and I think that if the 18650 are not build at a really state of art they will not last to long the rc lipos will not last long but you pay less money for them I use 4 multistar 6S 16A from hobbyking and I like fast charging with my ICHARGER 4010DUO under s...

Re: cyclist-runs-for-his-life-after-electric-bike-explodes-i

This kind of explosions and fires are a characteristic of new type of cells with high Ah and C rates or have been occurring also with the older cells like Samsung 29E?
Because if older cells are safer I would prefer an older type of battery for all day commuting and some Lipo for playing hard.
