Re: Cabriovelo recumbent trike

^^ Hehe... So... those velomobiles must seem "huge" eh? I'm riding a (recumbent) trike currently, and find myself missing a shell/body (and more drink holders, etc) re rains, winds and snow. I get to deal with those "giant" SUV baby strollers about daily. Most seem slave-powered but some are pretty...

Re: Cabriovelo recumbent trike

OMG the more i see of it the more i think WTF ! ! ! 1:- its a human powered bike / trike (with elec assist) and its almost as long as a car 2:- it has less storage than a normal bike with panniers on it and its almost as big as a car 3:- the seat is nothing more than a tube frame with some strapping...

Re: Reverse and Freewheel? Quad Project

that is a cool looking unit mate

as for being able to free wheel and still have reverse you would need to have a friction clutch system (if you want it smooth) or a dog clutch system (if you dont mind having to be stop to engage it)

Re: Do EV pouch cells prefer to be laid flat/horizontal?

Its not clear to me. can you eleborate pls. are u suggesting i do this in addition to the existing shell, i.e. as part of securing it to the bike? Its a chinese blue shrink wrap job. No details given re construction, but clearly a hard plastic shell of some kind within. so what is it? hard plastic ...

Re: Do EV pouch cells prefer to be laid flat/horizontal?

I've never known that it mattered. You should probably keep them physically secured under a slight bit of pressure such that they can't move relative to each other anyway. that is correct and that helps stop the liquid in them settling to the lowest point and keep all the internals wet best way is ...

Re: ADAPTTO Controllers - new functions discussion

Just wondering what you guys think of something like this. I find that as my voltage drops, from 82 volts down to 66 volts, 4.1 to 3.3 volts, my power output obviously falls and this screws with the consistency in controlling my bike wheelies. I was wondering if adding a feature/function into the c...

Re: Recommended Trike for Ebike Conversion

I notice that you haven't specified what kind of performance you're interested in. For speeds under 15mph, there's no reason to categorically rule out delta trikes or upright trikes. I think you should make a realistic assessment of how fast you want the trike to go. If that's 20 to 30 mph, you sho...

Re: Warning: EBike battery in flames!

Nothing in this video would help, or is even a good ideal to be doing with can cells. Soldering cans like you've done means any of them could now have thermally induced latent defects to fail catastrophically at some later point. i was not talking about the soldering i was talking about how 1 weak ...
