Re: Tsdz2 open source firmware only for lcd03

I think Buba just needs to know that his work is appreciated and there are a lot of us that would like to see it go forward. If you have not reached out to him by PM, please do.

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Yes, I am a little confused as well. We have been waiting a long time for 850C on v20. v20 is the main development branch with lots of amazing features and capabilities. So now we have v50 based on v19? Did I read some time back that this is just temporary to add the torque calibration? When will w...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I'm just curious about the new version 850C_v0.6.2 and v0.51.0. Does it have all the usability and safety features that were put into version v20 that was a huge improvement over v19 for me, disabled, and other riders? Also, does this newest version allow you to preset the torque value like when I ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

What setup do you guys recommend for UPDATING both, the display and the controller? Following the WIKI, it's recommended to cut off the connector of the 850C, and hardwire it to an extension wire that fits to the TSDZ2's original plug hardness? So you need an extension wire and cut that to the corr...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Did you do something that could burn the board? usually users make the mistake to use wrong connection cables or wire connections. I have a few boards burned with the same symptoms and I could never repair them. Not that I am aware of - I'm usually pretty good with paranoid checking of everything p...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Jeff, the way you wrote this is a little confusing. Let me clarify: v20 alpha 10 had steady and reliable cadence readings on the KT-LCD3 display v20 beta 1 cadence jumps around by as much as 40 and is not steady. This makes me wonder if there was a code change in the cadence low-pass filter in v20 ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I've been using version 20 Alpha 10 on one handcycle and version 20 beta 1 from Buba's original version on his drive on the other handcycle. We just Flashed the TSDZ2 that had Buba's original version with version 20 beta 1 from the official site. We didn't reflash that LCD3 with the different versi...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Help needed: I have installed the OpenSource firmware without problems on my TSDZ2 (0.19.0). But I didn‘t succeed to install the firmware on the 850C using the USB to UART cable method (anybody successful yet?) ... Any ideas? I have built a number of these 850c bootloaders over the last few years. ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Is the BBSHD better at maintaining RPM and torque as the battery discharges? I had a BBS01b and while virtually silent, its biggest drawback (other than PAS) was the huge loss of torque / power at decent RPMs. In fact even with a fully charged battery the max RPM was limiting without "hot-rodding" ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

working with bafang engines is a good idea. But the bbshd is too powerful. There are transmission problems, the chains are broken, free wheels and hubs. Even the rear of most bicycles flexes with its power. I have been using a BBSHD for far longer than the TSDZ2 and what you say is quite frankly wr...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

With A3 on coaster brake we are noticing that if you go from pedaling to brake quickly, as in an urgent braking situation, then backward resistance is there. If you then release the brake and then reapply the backward resistance is gone. Alternatively, if you have time to pause/coast before applyin...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I actually bought the coaster brake motor when ordering the last time just for this reason. I also created the double cadence resolution on that motor just so it stops as fast as possible. It is especially easy to setup on that motor. I do not think that any commercial product in the world is using...

Good ldea. But can it work with a 68mm BB? Yes, it can work. I do this with 100mm BBSHD motors on 68mm BB tandem bikes. 68mm BBS02 motors will actually clear the spider on the left side. You will need to space it out with BB spacers to install the bracket. I have some 10mm spacers. PM me if you nee...

This is the new piece of code to turn on/off the motor PWM. See that if there is not ui8_m_adc_battery_target_current ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I tested v19 beta 3 on a coaster brake motor. There is no backward resistance but I also have no power. I did a reset and triple checked all the settings. There are good torque and PAS/cadence readings but always 0 watts. Any ideas? The motor worked fine with v18.2 but had extreme backward resistan...
