Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
Seems that other mid drive motors can detect with a sensor when user shift gears and the motor coasts during a fixed time so the gears without motor doing torque -- is this feature a must have or is ok as it is without it on TSDZ2 motor? It is less important with torque sensing as the motor output ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
Actually Bosch Motors do gear "sensing". They don't have a sensor on the cable like some of the other solutions, but instead they sense a drop in torque output or something like that and stop outputting power briefly so the bike can shift. Actually, Bosch engineers noticed a consistent sound transm...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
I'm still not convinced that cadence limit can be increased by reprogramming the firmware. To increase the cadence limit would require to increase the motor RPM and that is only possible by increasing the voltage if i'm not mistaken. Like someone here tried to use a 36v motor on a 48v controller. D...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
There are plenty of eccentric adapter cups for BB30 and PF30. Use those and you'll have all the clearance you need. Do you know who makes those? Can you provide a link? FSA has adapters that work on aluminum frames but not on carbon because of the thickness. I would like to find eccentric adapters ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
If original controller just do 6 step/block commutation, I will prefer to use instead a Kunteng motor controller that even has a very good LCD and Bluetooth module for using with a mobile app. Going by this path, only the torque sensor will needed to be tested as it is really different from the one...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
So far we are happy with the motor and I am looking into headlights and tail lights now. Has anyone found any good 6v led headlights (very bright) and tailights and turn signals? I don't want rechargeable usb, I would prefer to wire them directly to the 6v power leads and be able to use the headlig...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
Hi, Does anybody know if TSDZ2 fits BB30 bottom bracket? I mean will it have enough space between shaft and motor to clear the thicker bottom bracket ? Bike is a Cannondale Scalpel 29er. That is a really good question. I assumed it would. I have done quite a few BB30, PF30 and PF41 conversions usin...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
And guess what, seems that TSDZ2 motor controller uses the same microcontroller STM8S105C6 :-) :-) this means we should be able to use the same firmware with minor effort!! I have an ST-Link and have played with it a little. Here are a few things I have gleaned from around the web that might be hel...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
Court finally reviewed the TSDZ2, doesn't look good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RxftD4vklw A few observations: - He loves the "torque sensing" and the throttle that other mid-drives don't have but overall gives it a "meh". Go figure. - He expects more power out of a 350-watt motor because it ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
... how many did you end up having "premature" trouble with (i.e., something that broke long before you would expect it to)? Asking because my unit lasted all of 5 days (30 miles) before the torque sensor went kaput... So far only a few issues. I am fairly new to the TSDZ2. I live in a 55+ communit...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
My first post (I think?): -- something like a 3 lb. battery. I prefer the frame-mounted batteries -- lighter batteries sold which fit on Shark mount on downtube? AS It's never a mistake in e-bikes to either buy more power than you think you need (unless there are laws, as in some countries in Europ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
And is it possible somehow to use the TSDZ2 without the torque sensor? TSDZ2 is not a specific model number but a motor family so it is hard to know what you have. If you happen to have the 8 wire version of the controller and VLCD5 display then you can use the throttle without the torque sensor. R...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
In other news, I think I've figured out what's causing the issue. It looks like the newer frame has a cable guide right next to the BB on the drive-side chainstay on the bottom. It adds a significant amount of thickness to the chainstay and makes the simple removal nearly impossible. I think you ar...

A decent rivnut tool is under $30. I have black bikes and cover black hose clamps with black shrink wrap. I do use added zip ties, but not as primary. Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
The BB cold be used with zip ties too, but hanging a $500 battery with zip ties isn't all that exciting to me. Thanks for the post, I do like the idea of adding one of the Wolf rails on my down tube with rivnuts. Not all zip ties are created equal. My battery is hung from the top of the seat frame ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
After much frustration trying to get information on reprogramming the TSDZ2 I am now thinking about bypassing the TSDZ2 controller entirely and going with a CA3/Grinfineon solution. This will give total control over the motor and hopefully still keep cool TSDZ2 features like torque sensing and coast...

Re: New
I know that a mid drive is going to block the bottom of my seat tube, and that's okay with me (I've got a really tall seat post in there right now - I could use a shorter one if I want) but the rear suspension linkage is directly behind the bottom bracket, so the chain stays and kickstand mount mov...

So you plan on eliminating the display? Are you going to use the BBSHDS controller or buy an external one. Are you planning to use throttle only or PAS and throttle? When you are successful, please post details and pics. Yes, please post up if you are successful...... Running a BBSHD w/o a display ...
