Re: Wavecrest tidalforce m750x for sale.

Thanks, Ambrose! I'm heading to the station this afternoon (assuming I finish finals grading) to look for the smaller bits. Man, they have a big evidence room full of recovered bikes and related parts alone...

I sure do like this story.

Even has a good ending.

BusyJailman :P
Me too, Icewrench! I'm going back to the police station to see if they have some of the smaller missing items, like the (kind of critical) bolt that holds the folding part of the frame together...

Re: Wavecrest tidalforce m750x for sale.

No kidding! It's unheard of, getting a bike back... especially more than two years later!
😀

Thanks for the battery carrier suggestion, Ambrose. Ordered!

Re: Tangent Ascent 6000w on an NS Fuzz

Also look at what Brian did with only a single speed (bottom of page and next page): https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=70099&start=475 That way you could even use HD BMX chain and have the chain line perfectly straight. Thanks for the advice, SlowCo. And I LOVE that outrageous ...

Re: Tangent Ascent 6000w on an NS Fuzz

Powerful mid drives are hard all bicycle drive train components, not only the chain. Prepare for better chain, chainring, rr sprocket, guide and tensioner... Make a perfect chainline alignment and add a safety guide to prevent a broken chain to slap your leg (but I guess you know that already). :wi...

Re: Tangent Ascent 6000w on an NS Fuzz

Hey McKitterick, great build, the reason the chain came off is because the suntour chainring is not a narrow wide, i've been digging around and although raceface only do a 38t as their biggest, these guys http://www.amber-bikes.com/ do a 44 which would be insane top speed with an 11t at the back. T...

Re: The first and BEST Qulbix Raptor mid-drive build!

Matt, that is such crazy-gorgeous-wild engineering and design - kudos to you! Looks great and like it'll be a blast to ride. I have a question for a problem I just had with mine that maybe you've already figured out. Seems like you're running power from the motors through your reduction setup direct...

Thanks, Tom! I'll update as I mod (and repair) it. Probably going with a Gates belt drive next. At least if that goes catastrophic, I'm less likely to suffer.

Re: Tangent Ascent 6000w on an NS Fuzz

Oh shit just read your post. The chain snapped? 6000w seems too much for bike gears. i would stick to <3000w in the future. Thanks, Mundawg. The chain stayed on the bike, just ripped free of the chainring and wrapped itself around the right-side crank. Check out the picture. Not sure how clearly yo...

Tangent Ascent 6000w on an NS Fuzz

Updating a bit: So my Tangent Ascent mid-drive kit arrived, and I began building what will become the most awesome electric bike ever! (That’s my opinion and I’m sticking by it.) Pics attached. Some specs for the curious: the motor is an Astro Flight 3220, a 6000-watt unit designed for huge R/C plan...

Aha! Thanks. There's no "Help" documentation, so I'm glad y'all answered this. Relieved to know I hadn't done something wrong.
