Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

If I got it right then it's D4 in schematic - BAT54S, a schottky diode, rated for 30V (!).
I was already able to get it locally, but thank you for the offer.

I'd appreciate to hear, what did I do wrong and some advise, how to proceed once I have replaced it.

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

Well, just as I was afraid of - blew a component: SOT23 between throttle and main connector, next to R4. IMG_20180309_004138_480x727.jpg Applied 45VDC to pin 14 (BAT+) and 17 (GND) on main connector. Now two questions - is it repairable (or did something else gave away its magic smoke?) and if yes t...

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

So has anyone got their controller running yet?

I wonder what would be best way to power the brain up in order to set initial parameters. ~50V with lab PSU to pin 14 on main connector? 5VDC through halls pin? I would hate to blow something up.

Yes I did and that was the problem. Its not possible to import custom made products from private persons.
So a handmade art piece/installation (just for decorations), sent by a friend as a gift is not allowed to import?

Is it possible to switch sinewave mode on and off, and have that set in the profile?
Newest PV versions have sensorless/fault mode, where it switches to trapezoidal. Just switch off/unplug one hall.

This topic: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=90446 RC filter might help. I had another idea to stick small piece of thin aluminum-foil tape onto hall sensors. Maybe that will be just about enough to catch that stray flux and pass the real one. Haven't gotten around pulling mine...

If you run it at 40A and below then stock mounts are good enough for most cases.
Stock motor chain tensioner needs only one (or two if you're lucky) derailment to render it unusable.

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Explain. Torque (phase amps) and torque ramp will determine mechanical impact on drivetrain. Strain on the motor itself depends on power input and efficiency. This motor is not good for 40mph constant unless you have a fairing or velomobile, and probably not even good for 2000W constant unless you ...

Re: Cyclone 3000w winter project

If you have basic means and skills to fabricate, then I would suggest a simple block of aluminum between front and back motor bracket. Snug fit, pressed in line between BB and motor axis. then drill through bracket from both sides, two holes each side at ends of that block. Remove block, drill holes...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

15x12 is 180, that is a huge amount of batteries. Unless you are doing highway speeds, you can forget about needing to charge at work. I would recommend going 20s 9p though, 72v is easier on the heat in the motor and the chain. For 40mph, you only need about 2000w. Anything can do that. I have 16S1...

Re: How to remove cyclone 3k freewheel?

You need a gear puller for that.

Unscrew little Allen screw that is fixing freewheel bushing/collar to gearbox shaft
Using gear puller, pull freewheel with the bushing off
Unscrew freewheel from bushing (that's a tricky part, need two tongue-and-groove pliers)

I don't have access to my files right now but if my memory serves right, 2 wires are used to pass through "ignition" wire to controller. With ohmmeter, find those two wires that have 0 ohm resistance (measured both ways!). I found one post releated: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=...

If you need motor freewheel, then ACS crossfire. It has standard M30x1 inside thread.

For crank / BB chainring freewheel, get it from Sick Bike Parts:
Ultra Heavy Duty $120

Or I assume I could use more LEDs in series? If string has 3 white LED's in series (with resistor) for 12V then 5 red LED's with the same resistor would be safe. Why not just use a 12v adapter and 12v LED lights (or multi-voltage lights) that are commonly available at low prices. Cheap low-powered ...

Or use a small red film to cover the glass and turn it into a taillight. Not a good idea as white LED emits very little in red spectrum (it's a blue led with phosphorous coating that converts part of the blue to yellow which in combination appears white to human eye). When replacing white LED's to ...

Snow

From my own experience, snow is another disadvantage to rim brakes. Found out last winter during trail riding (and not on the streets!) that between pulling brake lever and actual braking there can be up to 1 second delay. It creates thin layer of ice to the rim (after each braking), which first has...

Re: Cyclone chain alignment - is it possible to move the sprocket?

Motor freewheel uses aluminum bushing/adapter to mount it onto motor shaft. When have access to a lathe, you could turn bushing's collar thinner from threaded side (thick red line on the picture), so freewheel would screw on further outward on bushing. Either that or loosen the fixing screw and pry ...

Re: LEDs - are COB or SMBs offering the widest operational range in voltage and current?

COB module on Tmall 5730 triplet module on Tmall 5730 version has written "digital constant current chip" but clearly shows two 150ohm resistors (in parallel? that's 75ohm). If those resistors are in parallel, then there's about 30mA draw @ 12VDC. 14,5V will roughly double the current. 10,5V from m...
