Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Ok I have updated and things are much better. Couple of bugs to report (this is under high power calibration): 1. If I set 2A in the Fast Ramp Threshold, on the device it looks like its actually sets 20 Amps. This results in a very jumpy DD hub bike in PAS mode, not very safe :) (I fix it by settin...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Oh o! I tried to flash 1.13b but something went wrong with my cable mid flash, and now instead of a boot screen i get just blank screen when I turn the CA on. How do I go about recovering it? You can always always always just apply power to the CA after you have clicked the "update firmware" button...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

...write failure at 2% with connection issue ... Any help or is this a "send in" repair? It's not bricked. No 'send in ' required. This is the comms problem referenced recently in this thread. The difficulty appears to be some very close timing issue in the Setup Utility 1.54 but we are sort of wor...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

I am assuming what happens is that CA notices that power is dropping and because my PAS is set to power mode it ramps up the out throttle to full trying to get more power. When I release the break throttle the CA is outputting fully open throttle 4V so the bike jumps. Exactly. What you need to do i...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

I apologize if this was covered before but i did not find it on the forum. I have a throttle hooked to my controllers variable regen input. I noticed that if I keep spinning the peddles (PAS is on) while applying regen via the regen throttle. Then breaking is applied but if I release the throttle th...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

2. If I apply the ebrake and keep peddling, and then while pedaling release the ebrake, the throttle out will climb very slowly around 0.1V/s. Can you clarify if this happens when you are not using the throttle at all, the power is just from you pedaling? And if the latter, if you momentarily stop ...

If you click "Get New Firmware" from the CA setup utility now you'll see a download for CA3.13B1. Cool thanks a bunch, will test tonight. Ok I have updated and things are much better. Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

It's 1mOhm. So at 100 amps you are putting 10 watts of heat in a small piece of metal about 1cm x 0.5cm. That will get hot, but being metal the shunt itself is not going to be damaged. I would suggest using heavy 6-8 gauge wire at these currents and then your copper wire will act as an excellent he...

If i throttle gradually it gets to full power 650w.. only when i do it fast it cuts out https://vimeo.com/299172587?utm_source=email&utm_m...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Anyone know what the continuous /max amp rating for the Raw Shunt that grin has? https://www.ebikes.ca/shunt-raw.html?fb ... dbol7WAl-M

Perhaps i can use the low power calibration if this shunt can take 100amp for a few mins.

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Noticed a strange issue in software ver 1.54 If I change the calibration from low to high Pas stops working, it doesn't apply power but i can see the peddling symbols moving up. (This is a basic two wire 12 pole PAS). This happens even if I reset from scratch and calibration is the first thing i cha...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

The ~59.4v the screen is displaying seems like my batteries voltage (minus) 12v? So I'm guessing something in the regulator circuit is dead, But I'm getting 150kOhm across Q1 and around 0.7v on z1 on a diode test. I take it the 5v reg still works as the mcu is coming on so bit so Im stumped Low V w...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

I tested the bike on the road today and it wasn't shutting off when I applied the brakes and it also was not automstically doing regen when i let go of the throttle,s but I realised that I must have had the throttle out MinOut set too high and at rest my CA was displaying 5W. I was wondering why th...

I am not able to find that one, do you mean LP2985IM 5X -5.0/NOPBCT-ND ? Yes, that's right, thanks for the correction. I edited it above. Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

BTW while probing around i noticed My Z1 is quite hot to the touch, is that normal? I can answer this because I repaired one with this problem. The Zener diode Z1 should not get hot. If it does, it is likely because the regulator FET Q1 is damaged. Measure resistance between the two legs of Q1. Sho...
