Re: Any good and simple "cop button" solutions?

I never understood lidar jamming unless you have an always on system (illegal?) You used to not be able to outrun Motorola, but then we got fiber optics. By the time the light bounces back he has his reading, long before your jammer turns on. I don't think we can beat laser or radar, which is used t...

Re: Kelly Controllers Configuration Program - a Definitive Translation

This write up is a real gem, I wish it had existed when I was looking to bite the bullet on my kelly controller, fantastic job. I do wish the features on some of these items were more clear from Kelly, the manuals and datasheets are seriously lacking from a technical standpoint, although leagues ahe...

Re: E-Street Machine 20kW

I did get the hub open, using nothing but wooden wedges and a rubber mallet. I don't have a gear puller, although next time, I might buy one :? . I then sprayed varnish on everything internal, and added about 8.5 ml of ferrofluid, and i finally added my arduino + neopixel display that reads out powe...

Re: overpowered bikes? 20+kw and 7kw vectors

You didn't specify what winding you got on your qs273, but it is safe to say that you are going to have problems with the vector dropouts. Even with precision machining, I am convinced there is no way for them to work with high torque setups. I ran into this problem on my bike, and am currently work...

Amazing machine absolutely. Can someone explain why it uses TIG welding as opposed to spot welding? What are the benefits? Doesn't TIG welding require gas? As someone who is welding illiterate, I don't understand the added complexity. Shame that such a system is only really good for enormous battery...

Re: Electric Enduro Frame controller heating inside the fram

If I had a controller or any device with a significant heat output inside the enduro frame I would ventilate it. If you don't want to compromise in aesthetics, adding a high CFM fan in the area under the seatpost mounting bracket is something that has been done before, and as long as the intake on t...

Yes, 6M automotive bolts work great. They are steel - not as flimsy as the stock aluminum ones. In your most recent photo are you using the Black Bolts or Custom bolts for the side cover? just noticed the difference and had thought about the concept myself. awesome Thread btw Could you elaborate? Regrettably I have not yet read this entire thread, but I'm wondering if anyone knows the difference between the ferrotec audio grade ferrofluid that is sold at ebikes.ca and their "educational" ferrofluid sold on amazon, at a mere fraction of the price. They both seem to be magnetic nanoparticles s...

Re: E-bike shut Down.. need help :)

Is the battery you bought the same battery that came with the kit? If you bought a battery that is too high or low voltage, it is likely that the controller will not work because of that. What was the nominal voltage of the battery that originally came with the kit?

Since it seems like you 2 are the only ones on the forum that have really executed this cooling solution, I come to y'all for advice. I am running a qs273 at 550 phase amps max and wonder what your advice is, edf cooling, or ferrofluid. I don't really have machining capability beyond a drill press. ...

You should know, that the pictures you posted do not have the dimensions of the Stealth Bomber frame . Lots of knock off companies sell the cheap steel frame as the "Stealth bomber" but it is inferior in many ways to the actual Stealth Frame.

Re: Best controller for QS 273?

After experiencing the 11.46kv winding, I can't imagine the amount of torque the 6.~ must have. Sure you can, because it's exactly the same. It just requires a higher voltage and lower current for identical performance. The torque potential of a motor is determined by the stator steel and magnets. ...

Curious, what winding did you get on the 273? IIRC, there was a 11.46, and one lower one, that was about half that. After experiencing the 11.46kv winding, I can't imagine the amount of torque the 6.~ must have. Good luck on the dropouts.

Love how those Nyx frames look, no doubt an awesome platform for a great machine. I am curious as to what your plan is for cooling the motor. With those power levels, I am guessing you are not going to wait for hours for it to cool between any time you got WOT
