Re: AU Group Buy Bafang M600 Drive system: any interest?

The only issue with building your own battery for the M600 is without a BMS with the CAN protocols you will not have access to the ability to configure the system to your liking via the associated app. Really not sure how it will work out without it but it is a different system than the BB series mo...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hey, does anyone remember the bb bearing specs for the TSDZ2, I know they are in this thread somewhere but it is so long now it is hard to find relevant info.....Thanks in advance.

Re: Hub Options for 10speed cassette

A 9spd conversion would work just fine. You could have the same high/low cogs just missing one in-between. You will have an extra click in your shifter on either end depending on how you adjust the cable tension. No need to change derailleur but may have to adjust the H/L stops.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I mentioned this in a post awhile back that the last time I had my motor torn down I drilled a hole through the bottom of the casing and in to the casing that contains the brass gear, in my case at least. I got a needle type fitting for a grease gun and put a high quality grease cartridge in it. I n...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

TomTom, Yes, that is the FS design but there is also a hardtail one with more to follow I'm sure. The manufacturers are ready and able to meet individual design criteria as well. The Bafang M600 is my target motor not the Ultra. Much lighter at 3.4kg and a 176mm Q factor: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Yes, I did not even realize they weren't centered until someone mentioned it here. Then I measured mine and saw they are offset quite a bit from the center tube on the frame. I figured I had not noticed because it has been like 30+ years since I rode a bike! :) Probably due to the wide stance you a...

"What spec's are you shooting for with the company / with the frame you are having designed/built ?" Slacker angles for both head and seat tube compared to the one being discussed for one thing. Re: Carbon Fiber e bike with Bafang M 600 mid installed with throttle

Sorry, that is not how I read it when you said that about Tesla and most of the development going into 18650 cells. Granted anything will be better than a SLA. Well I am working with another company as I said that is willing to make frames to our specs, most importantly in regards to CS length, head...

"But it’s realy the quality of the cell that makes the difference seems like most of the development is going on in the 18650 cells since Tesla could buy or should I say make any cell they want. " And that is why they made the Giga Factory and are looking to build another to make 2170, as they call ...

Are you seeing integrated motor frames that are cheap? Where? Shen Yi makes one that has a 176mm Q factor, a shop here got 50 with it onboard. 48v and plenty of power for an urban bike bug heavy as heck Q factor is 210mm with the Tongshin cranks, that is really a lot TDSZ2 210mm b.jpg Bafang BBS cr...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

The plate counteracts the rotational force distributed through the bb due to the drive side having more torque applied through the chain ring/final gear reduction than the left side with your human force applied. For this reason I would say it is a must have also. As frames for integrated motors bec...

I have a noise problem with my Tsdz2. https://youtu.be/nx2GnmvNajo As you can see the noise is only active when the motor is. I have taken apart the motor gears (blue one) and bearings and see no damage or tear on any part. Regreased it with Mobile28 grease. After a few 100 meters. The sound is sti...

Re: TSDZ2 sometimes it stop assistance

Doubt it is the torque sensor. 1: Loose/improper connection of the cables. Inspect and use a very little electronic water proof substance on each side before re=assembly. Also check your battery connection if you have a HL type battery as I have seen those brand new with bad solder jobs, you have to...

Testing, not bench, my favorite part. Thanks for the update and I haven't been following lately but have you been able to make the TA work? I like the power of the LB01 and it's overall design compared to the TS but without decent TA it is dead to me no matter what kind of power it makes over the T...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Tom Tom, to me it was less about the housing hitting the chain stay as getting the chain ring in to achieve the best chainline. With the 10mm offset as much as I could do and doing a little crimping behind the housing, high grade steel chain stays, it is at the limit now but centered on the middle o...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

TomTom, it really all depends on when the back of the gear reduction housing hits the chain stay. I have put on quite a few TSD's and you lucked out getting a 51mm chainline on your first try. I had to fit another 42t chain ring on mine because although I didn't measure it the chainline in my 42t i...
