Re: Electric Surf Board

FYI anyone have any thoughts on the pumps from the following supplier, they also have a 55mm and 80mm setup. Not so sure about the impellers. I am just hoping there are options to get metal impellers. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000147399664.html?spm=2114.12010615.8148356.11.3c0572a8NA0K0b Thi...

Re: Electric Surf Board

That sounds cool, I am trying to animate a PhD in fluid technical systems and my old connections to Formula1. I think building up a jet is not impossible. The hardest thing is spending money for the itereations and the prototypes. By the way, we have multi jet HP printer and also some DMLS metal pr...

Re: Electric Surf Board

I forgot to mention, I now have access to the best 3d printers in the world. Did a tour onsite and learned the machine operations to much to digest in learning. They can 3d print in metal too, which the service more expensive. Overall I see a future in production run for jet pump system using this c...

Re: Electric Surf Board

I also think, that the jetpump could be optimized e.g. more pitch. Has anyone optimized the MHZ Jet? I am also trying to build up a pump for 80mm, a target rpm 8000-9000....anyone interested You know, mhz is not efficient at all because it needs to run high rpm which causes to many problem and loss...

Re: Electric Surf Board

Hi It is the MGM 250-63 HBC - industrial version. It is more or less the same like the 400-63 RC version. The jetpump is a modified 64 MHZ version. By Fabian Great job on your board, you have been working on it for long time. I have the jet 64 setup on my jetboard too but the battery pack cannot ha...

Re: Electric Surf Board

I see we all went ghost on this post  :pancake: . It seems like we all figured it all out. I will be testing soon, in the fiberglassing stage then Gel coat. I will be making a mold and start producing DIY jetboards if things go well with my new design. :bolt:

Hello,

i changed my carbon impeller to a 3D-printed steel impeller. It is really impressive quality and less vibration.

today I will make first measurements of power consumption. Will provide results later.
How much did it cost you to 3d print in metal?

Re: Electric Surf Board

About the 3d print impeller, Yes it does hold up pretty well in the water even with tremendous loud. The impeller has to be printed at 100% infill, in 0.1mm or 0.2mm and set as a high quality which takes longer. Yes, it was in PLA.

Re: Electric Surf Board

I used PE because Epoxid Resin should not stick to it. But because of a too rough surface, it is sticking like hell .. For my second Impeller, I applied normal candle wax on the surface. This worked very well. You should use pva film that is used in mold release to make it a whole lot easier for yo...

Re: Electric Surf Board

Hey ropo, here is a tutorial for designing a propeller in inventor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iVDzhGvre4 for the cast, just do a boolean difference between the propeller and a block of the right size. then you could also 3d print or cnc machine the mould. If you 3d print it, then use ABS so ...
