Re: Is this used cargo ebike worth the price?

Thanks for the advice guys. I ended up passing on the bike but will keep looking and have a better idea of how to value another bike in the future.

Is this used cargo ebike worth the price?

2014 Xtracycle Edgerunner with a BBS02 kit, 1100 miles on it. Guy wants 1500. Worth it? How long does a li-ion battery pack last? I'm a bit concerned about the age. Thanks for any help.

Swap SWXK Guts into Another Motor Housing?

Hey guys, I found a bike that has a bafang SW series motor on it but has a 3 pin connector on it (I'm guessing no hall sensors), while my controller has 9 pins and requires halls. I have a SWXK with 9 pins on it - can I swap the rotor/wiring out of that motor and into the new bikes wheel?

Re: advice on incompatible motor and hall connectors

I agree with pwd - I'd choose option B "replace one side with the same connectors"

Pick which connector(s) you like best and go with those.

Looks like fun. I miss warm weather. What is that cylindrical thing hanging off the bottom of your handlebar near your left hand? Black with a red button. A horn?

Nice man, that's a big battery, you can probably go a long way between recharges. Where are you in Texas? I used to live in Richardson - there are a lot of great bike paths in that city.

Re: Battery Charge Wire Shorted to Cell? Burned Nickle Strip

Well I got it all wrapped up with the heavy duty electrical tape and back in the case. I'm noticed it had a couple sticky foam strips to hold the cells away from the sides of the case, but they were unevenly distributed and crooked. I replaced them evenly, hopefully that will help. Took it for a tes...

Which motor? I have a Bafang SWXK that I take up to 850w from time to time (not continuous). It's on a 13s battery.

Re: Battery Charge Wire Shorted to Cell? Burned Nickle Strip

fetcher, the wire that was broken is the one that connects the charging port to the BMS. I checked between the battery and charger negative in diode check mode and I got a reading in one direction but not the other. I just re-read your post and realized that I didn't disconnect the battery positive ...

Re: Battery Charge Wire Shorted to Cell? Burned Nickle Strip

Thanks for the help guys. I didn't make this pack myself, but if I did, those stickers look like a good idea. It's from BMSbattery. I just attempted the repair fetcher suggested, just waiting for the epoxy to cure then I'll try to charge it back up. I really hope this works, this is my first ebike a...

Battery Charge Wire Shorted to Cell? Burned Nickle Strip

Well my battery stopped charging this morning, checked the charger and output voltage was fine so I opened up the battery and found this, see pics below. The black wire from the charging port has rubbed on one of the ribs in the case so much that the wire broke. It looks like the wire shorted to a c...

Re: How Often are Torque Arms / Axle Flats Used? Need SWXK H

Thanks for the responses guys. Based on what you said I tried riding it with the TA on one side and no axle flat engagement on the other side and had no problems on my 22 mile test ride. I got the torque arm for this motor from Bike Swift (https://www.bikeswift.com), so it is possible to use one, bu...

How Often are Torque Arms / Axle Flats Used? Need SWXK Help

If the axle nuts on a hub motor wheel are properly torqued, will the axle ever rotate enough to make physical contact with the flats in a dropout or torque arm? Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-TA, just trying to figure out if they're more for insurance if they get used every ride. I have a SWXK fro...

Re: Look for: 26-38-48t gearing + Fatbike + 175mm arm length

First, are you sure that you'll be able to tell that the arms are 5mm short? That's less than a quarter inch. I was researching cranksets myself recently and what I read is that most people can't tell a difference in arm length. Cheapest solution would be to raise your seat 5mm :D. If you are deadse...

Re: Controller/Battery Stops Supplying Power to Motor?

Thanks for the responses guys, sorry I didn't give an update sooner. The screen did not go blank when this issue occurred. Re: Insurance limits motor output / theft prevention

You can ask the insurance company about the legal power limits and how it would affect your policy, but I agree with dogman, I don't think you'd have trouble getting them to pay out if it was stolen. You would want to make sure they have a fair value for it before signing the policy though, since it...
