Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
Hi Guys, I am seeking a bit of help with my second build. I have a 48v TSDZ2 with VLCD5 (brand new from PSWPower via AliExpress). I have a 52v (14s2p battery, charged to 50.2v) I have connected everything using the standard wiring. I am planning to flash with 18.2 and I have the KT-LCD3 ready to go...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
Still no luck. Feeding 41.8v into the motor, the screen shows low battery but no movement.
This to me shows that I got the correctly configured 48v VLCD5.
Any more ideas before I attempt the DoA process?

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
I have a suspicion that I have the 36v VLCD5, and the 48v TSDZ2. When I attach my battery at 50v it shows FULL on the battery indicator With my basic maths: 36v: Low = 29 (10x2.9) High = 42 (10x4.2) 48v: Low = 37.7 (13x2.9) High = 54.6 (13x4.2) 52v: Low = 40.6 (14x2.9) High = 58.8 (14x4.2) On a 48v ...

Re: Tongsheng TSDZ2 not providing assist. Fine on throttle
Hi all. Thanks for your comments. I slightly misinformed everyone. it's been a while since I built the battery and I chose to go with a dumb battery (no BMS) and use a pair of BX100 monitors to keep track of the battery voltage. For some reason my BX100s only appear to monitor the first six cells b...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor
Would it make sense to have a static RPM of the front 42t cog?
EG:
If you want a faster walk speed, then just put the bike into 9th (11t rear)
If you want a slow walk speed, then put the bike into 1st (32t rear)
Aim to have the speed of 42t-11t gearing at 6km/h... for legal reasons.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
I have similar issues.
I can program the LCD just fine. Motor is very flaky.
I ended up turning OFF the verification. Then I run the flash around 5-10 times until I don't get an error.
Not exactly a great solution.
(52v - 750w with throttle version).

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor
I have an idea: on LCD3, set max pedal as being 1 or 0, maybe with zero it will work as if pedal cadence is at max value... Cadence sensor is for sure equal/only one. What you can try is to take out the motor controller and verify if the connector of the sensor to the board is ok and mayne it is sl...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor
9,4 is cadence which is 0 when you pedal, which should not happen and this justify why you have only spikes of duty_cycle. Please enable 8.1 (Motor assistance startup without pedal rotation)!! and let's see what you get. Did you even run this motor with original firmware? are you sure the PAS senso...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor
The Menu 9,6 - PWM duty cycle stays at 0 when I attempt to ride (any torque level that I apply) Then something is wrong... when you apply torque on the pedals AND rotate the pedal (with the default configurations on LCD3), the duty_cycle should increase to values like at least over 50 up to 255 and...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor
No throttle attached. I have taken it for a test ride and applied plenty of torque. I also used menu 9 to read out the Torque Sensor values, and I can see these move as I apply force. Strangely 9,0 (ADC Throttle) was jumping between 8 and 9. Is this normal? How do I clear the options bytes tab? Ple...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor
Reconnected the LCD and Battery, turned on and setup the 52v parameters. Still no luck, same deal as yesterday... LCD shows voltage, and accurate speed, but no power. What you mean by no power? For motor to start, you need to use throttle or apply force on pedal for the torque sensor -- maybe some ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor
What's your distance between speed sensor and magnet? Try a few distances of at least 5mm (up to 1cm?). I had this issue too and my speed on the display quickly jumped to around 99 km/h. Hi EC, I just tested again, played with the sensor. It was reading accurate, then I adjusted it to a bad positio...

What is the exact software you are using?
Plz go to help, about and copy some of the details.
I have a hunch that the link on the wiki to the software is incorrect. I followed details from jbalat on youtube.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
So I have all the gear to do the firmware install, now I have a spare magnet for the wheel, because I cut up a spare speed sensor.
If I add TWO magnet sensors to the wheel (2050mm), then put the value into the firmware as 1025 (Option 0,1)
Will I get twice the resolution of speed updates?

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor
The original firmware does: Turn on the system. (wait about 3 sec). When you tap the power button it toggles the lights on/off. Hold power to turn off system. When lights are tapped ON: Screen backlight = ON lighting circuit has 6v applied, this circuit has two tails. Often used to power both front ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor
I had an interesting thought for the lights... If you have TWO rear lights (one to be seen, one to indicate braking or lack of power). Rear Light 1: Operating voltage 3v-7v (This is the light to be seen) Rear Light 2: Operating voltage 6v-7v (This is the brake light) Headlight: Operating voltage 3v-...
