Re: ebike or motorcycle?

If I had to choose what makes an ebike an ebike from the listed options available, I would go with pedals like it appears the majority who answered the poll have. For the simple reason that pedals are what make a bike, a bike. And an "electric bike" is at the end of the day, a bike. But if the quest...

Re: Batteries, chargers, motors and components made in China

What kind of deal can you get me on say 270 18650's preferably the 3500ah cells with 10amp ratings. Maybe Lg. Or pannisonic cells For 3500mAh cells, there isn't a lot of competition out there, so the prices are all really high. There are no good Chinese cells at that density in my opinion, so you r...

Re: If you have a electric bike, which battery you will choo

I use both of batteries 18650 and rc lipos and I think that if the 18650 are not build at a really state of art they will not last to long the rc lipos will not last long but you pay less money for them I use 4 multistar 6S 16A from hobbyking and I like fast charging with my ICHARGER 4010DUO under ...

Re: Batteries, chargers, motors and components made in China

Do you have very powerful DC-DC boost converters? 3-4kW? Check out Nenghua power, they have a bidirectional DC-DC converter with way too many features. They're a supplier for CASC (China's NASA) and have a huge range of adjustability. Efficiency isn't great on the lower power models, but 4kw/5kw ca...

I come here daily and it took me a month before seeing your thread despite coming regularly. Many e-skaters moved unfortunately onto other forums leaving most of ES to the e-bikes builders. The crazy here was one year ago. I just want to second everything Vanarian said. Also, as many already know w...

Re: If you have a electric bike, which battery you will choo

All that being said the heart of an electric bike is the battery I mean a battery made with decent quality cells that can be verified Samsung 25r, LG, Sony ect. Not some generic junk or rewrap cells. Or junk bms as battery murdering system. Seems a bit pointed given the context of this thread, haha...

Solar panels (non US only)

I happen to have a few professional contacts in the solar manufacturing industry from my previous work. Occasionally there are price drops, or excess stock to get rid of. If you are considering getting solar panels, tell me the panel size, type, and quantity you need and the price per watt you want ...

Re: 18650 EU Supplier

For 39 Samsung 35e cells, including shipping to Spain - Nkon seems to be offering them for under 200 USD at the door, which seems Ok. They look like a reliable retailer. That's a pretty top of the line brand cell. Branded cells usually have pretty narrow margins so the price is going to be similar e...

I'm told I had an easy time of it, but it was hell. A guy from my gym was in a band until he hurt his shoulder, then he hadn't been able to play for 5 years last I'd talked to him. Sounds about right, I hurt my shoulder on a weight machine at the gym and couldn't lift my dominate arm over my should...

Re: Batteries, chargers, motors and components made in China

I'LL bite. 24v 25ah. If you only need one battery, a typical bike battery would probably cost me about 80-90 USD to pick up a 24v/25ah 600Wh battery, maybe 65 dollars for 20ah. The rest would depend on how you want it shipped. For one battery though, DHL et al. can get pretty rapey with their price...

Knee i got a free freezer and a free UPS. if either burn up after the next hurricane, i'll take your advice. i plan a test every 6 months, will run the freezer for 1/2 to 1 hour, mainly a battery test, but also a test of your theory. there are numerous utube videos of freezers running on any invert...

Re: What got you into electric?

If you and your kid had to share a multi-use path with unregistered, unlicensed scooter riders, I'll bet you could think of a few limitations you'd want to apply. There is probably 100 times more electric mopeds, scooters, and ebikes where I live than anywhere in the US. It sounds like your complai...

I'm going to give you a pass because you just smashed your shoulder and are loaded with painkillers, but you really should write in complete sentences. Re: What got you into electric?

Where I live, and in most US states, there's another category for sub-50cc scooters and mopeds. If an owner of a 2hp moped can (must) get a plate and insurance as applicable, so can an owner of a 2hp e-bike. If the DMV says no and won't let you register it, well at least you can have it on record t...

Re: What got you into electric?

There is so much cool stuff out there in the space that the main thing holding it back at this point is archaic laws/regulations. There's nothing archaic about the laws governing e-bikes. There are laws that define e-bikes that can be operated as bicycles, and there are laws that cover motorcycles....

Re: ebikling motors

A company like ebikeling will never disclose their suppliers, that's probably the most secret/valuable information they have. For their type of business, one of the hardest parts is finding a reliable supplier at a lower cost than competitors. Giving away that information takes away their competitiv...

Re: What got you into electric?

Likely not. I saw stuff about the first teslas, and was looking at car conversion kits. Then I priced the lithium battery, and went " can't afford that". Then I started looking at converting a motorcycle, but again, a big expensive battery made the project a bit pricy. I had no idea there were elec...

Re: grid tie inverter, but no grid, will it work?

My advice is to avoid modified sign wave inverters like cancer. Some devices may even void the warranty if you run them under modified sign wave power. Any device that uses a capacitor fed power supply is dangerous to run on MSW... that includes a lot of small electronics. Things will often run unde...

When you say "at the park", what exactly do you mean? Riding on sidewalks would be great, taking it to a skatepark is a good way to break it. Riding anything with 5 inch wheels on dirt or grass is not going to be very enjoyable. This is something that is designed and excels on sidewalks, asphalt, an...

It's a great looking concept car and I like how it still has the classic styling, but "it is still very much a concept." Concepts are a dime a dozen. Let's face it, the big auto makers love teasing us every couple years. For them it's just a matter of PR, they have no interest in actually making the...

14,000 watts. RIP. Although it looks like the one posted is speed limited to 50mph. Still it begs the question, if you can't technically get a motorcycle license I'm sure you can't technically ride a 14kw "ebike". You don't need anywhere close to 14kw to go up a hill at the speed you're talking abou...

It's incredible how many people were fooled by such a terrible idea on so many 'levels', I bet it would look cool driving on some solar frickin' roadways though.
