Re: Prismatic lifePo4 cells 50ah Sale

What BMS's are you looking at using?

These bluetooth ones are quite nice and easy to configure.

By the time I got them to me with shipping, by air which was relatively quick they were $40 each...by Sea they cost me $32 each but that takes 55 days...this is in Canadian dollars...
I'd be interested let me know when you are ready to order.

Sold the last one.

Going to order another batch once JLCPCB has all the parts in stock. Might be a while with the current chip shortages.

Re: Anyone offer Ebike consultation for $$?

Might be a bit out there but if you are needing to haul 500+ lbs up steep hills perhaps something like this is better suited?

The pedals being disconnected from the drive feels a bit odd at first but after a few minutes you don't really notice.

Re: Battery pack selection for self-launching glider

Since the extra capacity is not going to kill your weight budget why not go for a pack that doesn't get worked quite so hard. Sure the cells can handle 20C but doing that often will greatly reduce the lifespan. Make the 15 kg pack into two parts and it would be easy enough for someone to carry one m...

It is strange to hear about these wind farms having problems in the cold.

There are a ton running in Canada and they seem to do just fine in the winters here.

Do we have to order the preassembled kit to get the picture of samuel jackson on the back? Shaman on here is the one who did the design and the SLJ artwork. https://endless-sphere.com/forums/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=62507 It is actually pretty good practice for hand soldering a combo o...

Re: Converting a MONI motor glider to electric

Do you have a detailed W&B from the original builder? If you need a copy of the sheet to do the math I have the forms from the factory. There is a lot of dead weight on the front end of a Moni since it was originally intended for a larger motor. The ballast in mine weighs more than the motor and...

Re: Self-launching sailplane conversion

You could just measure the current thrust and that gives you a starting point.

One thing you will need to take into account is the thrust available at the speed you climb at. A paramotor is all about static thrust but a glider will be moving quite a bit faster while climbing.

Re: Self-launching sailplane conversion

You should look at some of the electric paramotor drives people have worked out.

They have similar prop size constraints and power requirements.

Re: Converting a MONI motor glider to electric

Munro claims the new Tesla battery will reduce the battery weight in half. Half the empty weight of this aircraft is still to much to allow it to fly. This is a conversion it is not a new build. The power system has to work with the weight and balance as is. Luckily the original airframe had a larg...

Re: Converting a MONI motor glider to electric

Have fun with that. Hope you have some automated welder to do 12000 spot welds. I am using volt cells as I need power density rather than energy density. I want a pack that is as light as possible to fit the existing airframe while being able to handle the peak power demands. Climb power is more imp...

Re: Converting a MONI motor glider to electric

Shouldn't be too difficult welding 18650s with a tack welder? And using those plastic brackets to form the grids? Not that I have built this, but am planning to build. Let me know when you are ready to build a pack with 900 individual cells. Probably just going to buy a complete Chevy volt pack and...

EIG NMC cells?
These are the prime candidate currently. Making a pack out of 900+ cells didn't really sound appealing.
