Hi All, I am after a second charger to keep at work for my 52v battery. I have a meanwell at home that works well but am just after a cheapie for work as I won't use it that often. Ideally I would like on that I can tinker with and set the voltage to say...around 56v. Can anyone recommend one I can ...

Re: 100mm BBHSD and 68mm Bottom Bracket

Thanks for the answers. I went to the local metalwork shop and got them to cut me a 27mm spacer (for 73mm BB) out of 40mm by 3mm aluminium pipe. I painted it black and installed the motor. The motor did rotate downwards initially but after I tightened the crap out of it it seems to be working fine. ...

Re: BBSHD and the Udder effect!

I have a BBSHD on a Giant Anthem. The motor does hang down and yes you do lose ground clearance, but the motor casing is thick and strong and it seems to be able to take the hits. (So far.) The bike in general is quite low, so unless I am carefull, I often hit the pedal as well. Next build for me w...

I have BBS02 on Trance.. no problems with clearance, just have to be carefull when going over logs or big stones. I have 250 psi in rear shox for higher pedal clearance .
Thanks. Do you ride single track?

BBSHD and the Udder effect!

Hi All, I am thinking about putting a BBSHD on a 2013 giant glory but am worried about smashing the motor on rocks and logs on single track riding. It will hang down a fair bit due to the angle of the downtube. I know Luna do one on an anthem 2 which has a similar shaped down tube. It looks to me li...

100mm BBHSD and 68mm Bottom Bracket

Does anyone know if you can use a 100mm BBSHD with a 68mm bottom bracket by using spacers?

Will it throw out the chain line?

Any other issues?

Not the best way to do it I know but I already have the motor.

Cheers

BBSHD 73mm to 100mm

I am looking to swap my 73mm motor with a very kind ES member for a 100mm but it got me thinking is it possible to buy a new part to make my 73 mm 100mm?

I know you can buy nylon gears, spare motors etc

Is this possible?

Cheers

Re: Carbon Frame and BBSHD

Yes that might work but unfortunately I already have a standard size BBSHD motor I wanted to use.... :x Are the small teeth/grooves of the BBSHD that bite into the bottom bracket likely to damage a carbon frame? Someone told me it could crack the frame but the teeth seem so small that I can't see th...

Re: Carbon Frame and BBSHD

Thanks Amberwolf. I went out to see the bike today and unfortunately the bottom bracket is around 90mm and the BBSHD I wanted to fit (already have it) is the standard 68-73mm version. Damn! I am guessing the answer is no....but is there any way to make this fit without a ridiculous amount of effort?...

Carbon Frame and BBSHD

Hi All,

I have the chance to get a really cheap Giant anthem advanced 2016 - Carbon frame bike.

I would like to add my BBSHD motor to this frame.

Are there any issues using a carbon frame with a BBSHD mid drive?

Cheers

Re: Battery Choice

I have bought 2 Aliexpress batteries I pulled them apart and had a good look at both: 1st one was from Efun - It was really bad. The case was cracked, BMS cut out power at 46v instead of around 42, not enough series connections to carry the current they said it would. Also, they are hopeless to deal...

Re: Chinese Battery....hmmmm, with Pictures!

In case anyone is still interested. I added the required series connection then managed to mount the haillong battery to the bottle brackets ( after drilling some holes in the bottom of the battery attachment) and went for a ride today. My other pack is 52v 14AhLG MG1 cells and this is 52v 16Ah LG M...
