Any of you use T12 tips for soldering connectors? Which tips do you use?

I bought a fancy soldering station but the tips that came with it are garbage for soldering things like MT60's or XT60's etc. Maybe something like a C4 or D4 tip would be better?

With the latest version over the 90rpm the efficiency drops 25% so it's best to avoid where you can. I keep my rpm in the 40-80 range and get a decent range even with a loaded bike. Better to keep this feature, the field weakening, disabled on the configurations. The losses on the battery and cable...

Update! Whoo hoo fixed the issues with our bikes! I realised I was somehow using the 1.0.0b version of the firmware. No idea how that happened. I installed the 1.0.0 and along with HughF's settings, it's all good again. And yes I can confirm, to get the startup boost, the boost has to be set to "di...

I'd like to help, but I am having trouble understanding what you are asking, I guess you are sort of using the thread as a brainstorm, but I think the concepts are a bit too abstract. Another thing is, aren't there open source forums that one could code on to their liking? Why build from scratch? Be...

I used these settings and it solved the lack of the boost function. The assist w/o pedal rotation enable helps to deliver the power quicker. I prefer to use the control power instead of torque. I am using high cadence and low gears. I am glad that the settings worked well for you. Many miles of rid...

For the best hill start performance I would setup as the following: Motor current control = torque Assist w/o pedal = enable Startup BOOST = disable Startup BOOST duration = 5 Startup BOOST fade = 6.5 Motor current ramp = 10a (maximum) Calibrate your torque sensor then enable calibrations Motor cur...

Does anyone here use their TSDZ2 for real mountain biking? With the new firmware I am having a problem where the motor cuts out when you need it most. Like for instance I was doing an uphill switchback, and right on the power stroke on the corner the motor doesn't engage and I fell over down the hi...

Tested the latest version this weekend and same issue, no assist at lower cadence. On road, if you are getting up to a nice speed on flat for example and decide to upshift to lower your cadence and accelerate, the motor power immediately drops and you lose speed instead of the desired acceleration....

Not really sure why you chose a TSDZ2 to do hardcore riding on elk trails. I would think there are better options. You would be better off with a frame that has a motor mount if you are an aggressive rider, or a hub motor perhaps.

Re: Bafang BBSHD BBS02 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

I would like to see this flexible open source firmware support more kits. The Tongsheng TSDZ2 has some issues that put ppl off: no fat bike support from the factory. There is a pricey 3rd party extension that only 1 or 2 merchants sell and it frequently breaks. the motor case is fragile. There are ...

There's no benefit to using the stock firmware. Is this just because you don't want to open it up? I am pretty sure you can buy them pre-flashed now.

Quick question. Is there some kind of brake indication that comes up on the SW102 screen when brake is engaged? Added a brake sensor and would like to know if I wired it properly before reinstalling it to the bike. However, no symbol is coming up like on KT-LCD3.

Keep in mind what happened to Michael Schumacher, when he hit the snow with a helmet camera. These things can do serious damage to your helmet and skull if you come off . Agree, mount the camera on your "dash". You can buy cheap handlebar mount extensions that work great for this. FYI, we have ebik...

Re: Fork vibration with Mac hub motor

I'm tired of the vibration, it seems to be a known issue with the KT controller on some geared hubs. I wish I had known that in advance. It's not losing sync at high speed, the problem is at low to mid speed with low PAS. It is more tolerable when the controller is in speed control mode, but I want...

Re: Dropped padded battery. Some of the heatshrink cracked. How can I "safely" salvage this?

This is strictly my opinion as to what I would do with that battery. With the covers off and all of the cells exposed take it to a safe location and put it through a complete charge/discharge cycle. If necessary build a test load for the discharge. Monitor for the entire test looking for hot spots ...

Dropped padded battery. Some of the heatshrink cracked. How can I "safely" salvage this?

To make a very long story short, a while ago my brick battery fell off my truck. Though the voltage was fine, to be safe I disassembled it and the force of the hit has unravelled some of the shrink wrap on the cells. I have checked every cell and though you can't see in the picture very well, the ba...
