Re: What is the Best BMS for LG Chem batteries?
Same pack, same configuration, I rebuilt the modules so instead of 1p 16s they are 2P 8S with a connector on each module to Check them easily. 16 model S BMB’s onto a custom BMS to control them. The modules have 4 10k thermistors so comparable with the Tesla BMB’s but obviously only room for 2 per B...

Re: Orion Jr. BMS installation - Southeastern USA
Just in case you run into issues again, there is a similar forum to this called diyelectriccar.com, the regularly use larger power demands and the Orion seems to be the staple when hacked oem units won’t work for what ever reason. I don’t think they are as innovative as people on here who tend to ob...

Re: Bought a used emmo proton testing batteries..
If the motor is anything like the EM-1 then you may find little increase in going to a slightly larger pack. The motor is saturated already and you just warm up the motor and see a little less voltage sag. The actual controller is okay, not the best but not the worst. The swapping the motor out is p...

Re: (Toronto) Need ebike help, regen braking issue
What controller are you using, some of the cheaper items simply do not have regen (from experience very frustrating). Do you have a brake light or some type of activation for an input for the regeneration.

Tesla slave BMS (found)
A quick ask around for all of the people breaking down tesla batteries to cells. Do you still have the slave BMS's, if so I'm interested in buying some for a project I'm working on

Re: Tesla-Powered Kit Car Runs 9-Second Quarter Mile + M3 PMAC
Did you look any further into the conversion. i have teh P85 motor and inverter on its way along with the controller. The batterys I';'m going to worry about after I have the motor installed. I assume driven conservatively I should be able to go for short drives, not that its being built for that. I...

Re: Add your EV etiquette tips for the newbs
So if a car is fully charged and sitting in a parking spot your saying don't unplug, I have a sign on my car stating to go ahead if I'm charged, but my car also tells me when its fully charged so i simply move my car. Tesla have started implementing charges at their Superchargers if you are not movi...

your best bet is (choose the shortest delivery time from China here) and just make sure you do not undersize it otherwise it will cut out going up hills) trust me I thought matching to my controller was smart at one time, much better to match the output potential of your pack. The problem is the wai...

Why not the Luna mini and turn down the voltage to suit, I turned up my 48v to charge 52v pack.

Re: Ebike (lead acid) stored over winter in un heated garage question
If they were kept charged the freezing point is something like -60 c. I don’t believe it got that cold in Toronto this year. However batteries don’t like being cold hence the huge reduction in CCA in car batteries, even worse in the SLA batteries, try a few charge cycles and keep it plugged in if yo...

80v is an actual reading or just indicated by the bars? you need to see what you are drawing by using a cheap meter https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Battery-Tester-TK15-High-Precision-LiFePO-Lithium-Lead-Acid-Battery-Testers-Coulomb-Counter-50A/32823138463.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.m7wCsB https://ww...

Re: Tesla PEM heat sink material required
The problem appears around 40,000 or 5 years. The answer is a remanufactured PEM at $10,000 that has a 3 year warranty. They simply replace the compound. The goal for them it seems is to get people to upgrade to the 3.0 battery pack with an upgraded PEM that uses better quality IGBT’s. If a solution...

Tesla PEM heat sink material required
Okay, I have a tesla roadster that has the well documented PEM failure The answer seems to be replacement of the thermal layer under the IGBT's https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/roadster-pem-failure.88028/ But there is little conclusion as to what that may be. I'm hoping the collective minds w...

Re: Unlock speed with lcd display
None of your links actually work so its a little hard to know exactly what you have. your guess is correct the controller will be the only way to unlock more speed (that and a lot more pedaling) but you are probably expecting a lot from a 36v 500w motor with an 8Ah battery. that will assist your ped...

Re: Mid drive vs Hub Motor for 10000 watt project
I’m with the controller to. Your battery is 3 times better than mine and I get easily equal your performance. The motor will do 75 km/h with 72v so any of the proven controllers (Kelly, power velocity, sabvoton) would probably do what you want. All should plug up to your CA. I wouldn’t go charging t...

Re: Mid drive vs Hub Motor for 10000 watt project
Something sounds wrong, Is the CA verifing your voltage/Amps because I would expect the increase in voltage to be pushing closer to 60km/hr. Its a super heavy bike but so are a lot of DUI scooters and they are going 60km/hr for 50km with pretty much an upgraded controller and good battery reserves a...
