Re: Yamaha V Star 1100 Conversion

Ditch the mid-drive option and stick with something like a 273 80H motor. Sounds like you want range more than anything, a shaft, chain or belt drive is just more parasitic loss eating up the range you want. 1100cc's of engine, trans, exhaust, carbs, gas tank, battery, ect.. is more than enough room...

Re: Step up converter recomendations

I am putting together a charger for my Ebike Battery. I am not doing this to be cheap, I am doing it to allow for versatility since I will likely add a couple series groups in the future and I want to be able to just adjust my charge rates as well as voltage instead of buying a new one for each sce...

Re: Turn signal switch wiring

What do you mean with 'switched' shark battery positive? I mean your ignition wire or on/off key switch. You don't want this wired to 'constant' voltage or you could drain the battery if you forget to turn these lights off. If your battery has its own on/off switch or key and the bike turns on 100%...

Hi! Re: Any idea what this toggle is for?

I just "inherited" this combination switch with the usual horn/headlight/turn signal switches. But there is an additional toggle which I'm not familiar with. Any ideas? Perhaps cruise control? This is a rather new addition to the standard motorcycle Clutch side controls. This momentary trigger swit...

Re: IC GOGOGO - Smart BMS 8s-24s LCD/Bluetooth

I believe that Vadim @ PowerVelocity plans on supporting this particular BMS in the near future. You should ask him. If so, his iPhone/Android Bluetooth app will have no problem displaying three digits -- in fact the Bluetooth app that manages the PV controller currently does AFAIK. Michael Good to...

Re: Best controller to use with qs 205?

In other words it's instant and brutal. This is why I've been saving up for a BAC-8000. The KLS is a very solid small controller with a ton of options but not the kind of off the line response I was hoping for. Part of the whole electric appeal is instant tire squealing torque. My guess is you need...

Re: Alarm integration with Kelly controller 7230s

OG to 7 provided its output be 72 volts. Blue and green are yet to be assigned. Yes, OG to #7 BU or "motor lock" is a grounded output anytime the alarm is armed. This is usually used for "Starter kill" on petrol vehicles. You can use this output to connect a relay and interrupt the throttle or just...

Re: Best controller to use with qs 205?

I know I have read somewhere some people complaining about slow start with kelly, but maby that is just some controllers? Kelly just has a low acceleration ramp. It take 2-3 seconds for full current to kick in from 0mph. To me it feels like the controller is intentionally designed/programmed this w...

Re: Kelly Controllers Configuration Program - a Definitive Translation

Thinking about this more, I don't think it's regen I'm after. I'm wanting to dull the throttle response so when the level is all the way out 100% throttle is 100% throttle but with the level in a little I want full physical throttle to be 50% throttle. This can be achieved by using just the low spe...

Re: Alarm integration with Kelly controller 7230s

What stumped me is the 12v feed on the brake lock and the ignition voltage appears 12v. To clarify... for the KLS side of things The 12v output - numbered #11 (RED) on the KLS schematic is 0v when controller is OFF. When controller is ON - #11 will switch from 0v to 12v+, this 12v low amp signal is...

Re: Kelly Controllers Configuration Program - a Definitive Translation

Granted, I've got a EEB frame with stronger dropouts than a standard bicycle aaaaaaaand my bottle of Loctite does get a little lighter every 3rd or 4th pre-ride check. You can instantly tell when the axle nuts have backed off. A noticeable clunk can be felt thru the frame the second the regen ...

Re: Kelly Controllers Configuration Program - a Definitive Translation

Thanks for the response. Not got round to giving this a go yet, I did start trying to design and 3D print a housing for a pot but I might just save time and buy the linked part. The idea is on my ETrails conversion to have a lever where the clutch lever was to control the regen not sure how it'll w...

Re: Alarm integration with Kelly controller 7230s

It can be done, but you'll need some sort of 12v constant. I can't tell if this alarm is 12v or ??? from the pics. I know there are a few 36v to 72v "bicycle" alarms on Aliexpress that should work without a problem. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Intelligent-36V-48V-60V-72V-optional-electric-bicycl...

Re: My yyk 80a vs my yyk 50a controller

The simplest reason: 1800w motor has a lower max rpm Take for example the infamous QS205 motor V2 or V3. Same motor, very different performance characteristics depending on how the motor is wound. 7t = 7 turns per slot = 300rpm Slow, but has massive amount of torque 3t = 3 turns per slot = 1275rpm F...

If you don't want to fab anything and use an old cable brake lever, you can just order one of these adapter.jpg https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Electric-Motorcycle-Scooter-Accelerator-Unit-With-Cable-Line-One-Set-For-Ncy-Gp-Throttle-Grips/32954909008.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.194.431f5809qbNgqx&ws_...
