Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

@ admin, could we get a MOD/DEV specific Thread started for the surron? I think this thread is probably best left for general discussion. Anybody can start a new topic. I would love a separate place for Sur-ron technical information. I'm reverse engineering parts of it already. Oh ok, I'll initiate...

"What do you need to do to get the seat off? It's not obvious which bolts hold the seat on." It looks like you can unbolt the whole assembly by removing the 4 internal hex large head chrome bolts on the alloy seat support. You can't, there are other bits attached to the seat support, plus the rear ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I'm getting the seat reupholstered (bony old arse) so I got it off, but it did reveal a small plug not connected to anything tucked under the seat. LH side of the picture resting on the seat rail and front seat mount. Anyone know what its for?

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

The sur ron itself is not a large bike. Since it comes with bike forks that have quick release, after removing the battery and front wheel you could put it in the trunk while probably keeping your car with 3 passengers. There's no quick release on the front fork.... I wouldn't want to lift it over ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

anyhow, enough rambling... oh and check the brace on the swingarm (in front of tire, underside of SA), mine was broken and there was an insane amount of twist on the SA until i welded a plate back on... Could you give more details. I assume SA means "swing arm" you had to weld stuff back onto the b...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Working on the front mudgaurd mount as I wanted a full mudguard closer to the tyre.

Looks OK just need to try it out once the paint on the rear mudguard mount dries and I can mount the rear mudguard.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Pretty hard to find any ride reports for this bike in an off-road setting where it’s really getting thrashed pretty hard. Watching the Luna guys trying to pop wheelies in their parking lot, you can tell the bike has quite a bit of power but I have no idea what it would be like to ride on serious te...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

People talk lots about how critical it is to have a clutch, right up to the moment you give them an ebike to ride with adequate torque and HP, then they never mention anything clutch related again. It’s not critical, and the rekluse is totally awesome, but there is technical stuff where a clutch st...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

So what’s the word on brake pads? One of my rear pads is worn to the backer now. My rear pads turned to dust the first week. Luna didn’t have any in stock so refunded me $20 almost instantly. Since then I’ve upgraded to magura mt5 that I found for $80/each from starbike.... literally night and day ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Been messing around with it... wiggling through wires coming out of the frame and I did get intermittent power. I could get it to stay on without any movement, but as soon as I moved, it went out again. Must be a loose connection in the bunch. Good sign I guess that it’s not the controller, but loo...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Fun thing I did today. Brake indeed cuts off throttle either front or back. From a standstill you can use it like a trans brake on a dragster. Hold brake, pin throttle, release brake. Good times. :-) I did that by accident because I am a pretty crap rider and hadn't thought through the logic of the...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Hi all, new here but have been looking at the Sur-Ron for a while. I was originally going to mod my fat tire bike(electric motor etc) but decided against that after looking at the Sur-Ron. So far it looks to be a great bike. For those owners is this bike what you thought after you received it? Stil...

So If you loose one of the keys of the pair that Sur-Ron provide and want to get another one cut, what blank does the locksmith use?
I figure others might want to know.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I fitted a mountain bike mudguard. left the rear half off as it fouled the controller and applied a touch of the hacksaw to get it up into the stem hole.
Off course as soon as i had it in place I decided it can go on the u brace above the tyre if I make a custom piece.

Re: [AUSTRALIA] Sur-Ron Light Bee / Fire Fly - Mid drive ebike

I've had my Fire Fly for over 2 weeks now and it is MAGIC. I used to ride an fairly clapped out 200 XL Honda which I thought I was the dogs danglers on, I then traded up to a 250 Husquvana 2 stroke with all the trick gear and discovered I was in fact completely crap at riding. Since then I hadn't ri...
