Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Anyone have an excellent guide on controllers? I'm lost in you guys' talk of "18s" and "20s" on the controller. Also EM field dampening (?) affecting top end power.

Wish we had word on the Model X.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Aebikes.com.au has managed to order sine wave controllers as spare parts, and is currently waiting on confirmation for ordering sine wave controller fitted bikes. Very nice! Thanks a lot! How solid are the reports on lower drivetrain noise (how much lower?) and increased power from the new controll...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Have around 175miles on my Firefly. Have enjoyed it, the bit that I've used it.

So, do we know if we're going to get the X-version with its sine wave controller in the US through Luna with certainty? Time frame?

Well, I preordered Jan. 11 and got the FastAce, in spite of earlier in the process asking about the RST and being told all bikes would come with the FastAce. As to which is better, I'm too green in bikes to know.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I also want to use this on some sidewalks to get to some trails, but am considering adding the pedals just to not get harassed to and from. I would totally skip the pedal kit. I wanted it, until I realized that it's like being on the lowest of the lowest gear of a mtn bike...in other words you'll n...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Mine was loud as well, however, the chain was banjo string tight. Ah, awesome, mine is too. I'll set it looser when I install this pedal kit, which will require me to lengthen the chain. Luna was meant to install it but didn't. I could use a guide to the FastAce FF too. This is my first motorbike, ...

Mine seems rather loud. Asked some observers and got mixed feedback. What serial/bike #s did you recent receivers pull (headset area)? Mine ends in 1065.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Hello Sur Ron owners. I just received my bike from Luna cycles yesterday the grey 60v and it seems to have shipped with the Killah RST fork. Seems decent but I’m a big guy at 6’1 220lbs. I thought I read that all the bikes were now shipping with the race ace forks. Any input or thoughts would be gr...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Very cool. Sounds like a fun space with some interesting challenges. It's my understanding that the Chinese Govt. has a fairly strong hand in all business (w/ exemptions for various foreign companies operating in nation). Essentially structured as though the entire nation is one giant company and th...

No.
Look at the pictures of the frames and drive trains. They are obviously different.
Thanks, I can see that now.

Re: Self Driving Uber Kills Pedestrian

If you want to be cynical about the media but closer to the truth, stop thinking of the media as an information source as much as you think of it as an entertainment source. People tend to be entertained by hyperbole. So the media is generally less concerned about which side it takes and more conce...

Re: Self Driving Uber Kills Pedestrian

Strawman, Bill. You listed three stories of tens of thousands on the incident. Furthermore, business papers are exceptional in the media biz. They tend to be far more objective. Further, headlines and a few quotes don't reveal the sum effect. I've seen unnecessary and less than fully relevant charac...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Are the White Ghost and Light Bee using the same frame and drivetrain, as it appears? https://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/motorcycle-news/the-white-ghost-is-the-new-benchmark-in-commuter-electric-motorcycle-ar180388.html If so, this would confirm the motor can handle 10kw. Wonder if the Ghost is do...

Re: Self Driving Uber Kills Pedestrian

In the case of the Uber car crash I find it interesting that the day after the crash, the dashcam footage, which is vital evidence, is all over the internet. The cynic in me says Uber rushed this out deliberately to try and give the impression of an unavoidable "came out of nowhere impact", with th...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I went ahead and ordered one. The only complaints I've run across are that front brakes might be a tad weak and rear sprocket could be bigger. Any comments on those issues? Also any parts compatibility? Seems we have the option to gravitate towards both DH MTB parts and MX parts. Wide compatibility...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

It really is weird to me that an environmental friendly activity such as ebiking has such blow back from the environmentalist mt. bikers. Especially after hearing all the noise from the side x sides, jeeps and dirt bikes down in Moab, you can hear those things for miles in the canyons. Why wouldn't...

I can add pressure to my Fastace fork to increase compression, the new Fastace fork is spring and i havent tested it yet. I haven't ridden both immediately back to back so I'll let Adam weigh on on this one as he has jumped between both bikes. Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Besides the steering angle advantage of the Fastace, and weight differences between the two forks, where would each fork type best shine, would you say? Interesting some of you prefer the RST, I think the fastace is the way to go. One of the first things I noticed about this bike was how much bette...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Frame colour, voltage and fork brand are all optional. Fork preference is more suited to riding style and location. Fastace is Mx duty has more steering angle. Rst is Mtb fork same as Oset use on the 24. Besides the steering angle advantage of the Fastace, and weight differences between the two for...
