Re: Quick but too quick!

Yeah fechter is right its too much dead zone, you need to adjust the input voltages which almost no-one does Even cheap throttles work really well when the input voltages are adjusted properly You can do it with resistor on the ground line of the throttle (beginning dead zone) and resistor on the po...

Re: 20S21P pack build

I have questions also since i couldn't find much information when it came to building a pack with multiple layers either

Do you need to have a ground from each seperate layer going to the bms or just the ground that is from under the +1?

Re: 48-54V limits power even at low speeds?

100a at 52v is just awful, you only use that amount of amps once you already maxed the voltage around 20-22s

Use the grin simulator and plug in some different voltages and kv's and find where you will reach peak efficiency at the speed you prefer

I bet you could do it in under a minute if you put 7 kW to it, but you'd probably destroy the battery too.
I bet it would last longer than a minute

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

FWIW I've got a motor similar to the leaf 1000w and it's taking 2.6-3kw and I can barely even heat it up. It's got every mod though, 24" wheel, ferrofluid, inside side covers painted black etc

My battery is only 18s5p 30q so id probably run out of battery before I could overheat it anyway

Re: Twist throttle with good mapping

I made the same thread a while ago. I ended up adding a 150 ohm resistor on the ground of my throttle and it moved the idle point from 0.83v to 1.17v (wheel moves at 1.23v)

Removed almost all the dead zone and there's just a tiny bit left for safety

Re: 18650 Insulator Rings - Redundant?

Because the edge of the nickel strip can be very sharp and easily pierce through the wrap and existing insulator, that's why you add that extra layer of protection

Type machinist into Google maps and start calling?

I think like you said you might struggle to find someone who will do small jobs but you might get lucky

I had someone machine my dropout, brake mount, and torque arm for 50 bucks which was a pretty sick deal now that I think about it

I'd recommend against it. Use stainless cable ties or 3d print brackets, do whatever you can to avoid it

If you do drill make sure you drill the smallest holes possible and deburr them to relieve stress

It's gonna be barely any faster though, the leaf and that 3k mxus will both be able to handle the burst current from that 5p battery you're planning Those cells are rated to 30A. I figured 150A would be enough. What would you recommend ? They're not rated to 30a? And why are you splitting such a sm...

Weird build, everything is way heavy and overkill and expensive for 60kmh Look at getting leaf 1500w, 24" bicycle rims and 18 fet infineon I can see where you're coming from. And I totally agree with you, if the only criteria was to reach 60km/h. Originally I was thinking more along the lines of th...
