Re: Would a 1500w Direct Drive Hub Get Me Up Short but Steep Hills on Full Suspension Bike without frying?

if you're still looking for inputs, I've been running a 1500w motor for years on a qulbix raptor (not the lightest ebike) http://pix.gloob.eu/images/thumb_1551348258IMG_20180819_153158.jpg It can definately climb some steep hills no problem without pedaling (maybe not for more than 20mins though). ...

Really nice work man but you obviously could have built the whole pack by yourself to begin with

Yeah never order from banggood their support is complete shit

I tried to cancel an order about 10 minutes after ordering and their support said they couldn't cancel it because it had already been shipped but i didnt get the shipping confirmation until about 6 hours later

Re: higher or lower kv

Either way every time i play in the simulator the lower kv motor performs better at the expense of more heat Im giving the high kv motor more benefit by lower controller resistance and giving the high volt battery more resistance because it has more series groups, what else am i doing wrong? https:...

Re: higher or lower kv

Im way late to the kv discussion but

Every time i look at high vs low kv in the simulator it ends up in a situation where the low kv makes more power but overheats faster, and the high kv makes less power but overheats slower

That's why im not sure theres a one size fits all solution

Re: AliExpress battery pack unboxing

Isn't that pack built pretty badly?

7 series connections per 34 cells?
Main positive and negative soldered to 1 single cell at the end

I think the entire layout should be different too

Looking at the 1500w 45a 48-84v controller

How strong is the regen?

Is there any soft start in the firmware or is it hard off the line? Or do i need to specify this when ordering the controller?

Re: Alternative Battery packs

Can't you just order the cells from nkon?

If i order 80 30q's from nkon it ends up being $5.21 AUD per cell and i imagine it would be almost the same in NZD

Re: changing gear ratios

I use the 11t-28t DNP

Haven't had a problem, some people say they don't last, if i have to replace it every 5000 km's it doesn't bother me

Without the 11t rear your front chainring will have to be absolutely enormous to pedal at any decent speed

Build a giant dh comp/team
The GT DHI that the OP has found is a better frame. A bit more work to build than a Giant, but well worth it.
Why is the GT a better frame?

I would like a DD at around 4kg that could handle about 1500w with ferrofluid People are putting crazy power through the 4kg mac, but everyone seems to have problems with the clutch unless they dial the phase amps way down, but then you lose the whole purpose of a geared motor which is the crazy to...
